Think Of All Your Liberties

The next morning, JC woke up with his arm around Jenny protectively, the door locked and bolted, with a chair there that Jenny had insisted upon.

Last night had been worse than before, but JC had again rescued her. And again, Justin had run out of the hotel, and not yet returned.

"Jenny," JC whispered.

She stayed asleep, and JC didn't have the heart to wake her up. He knew if he moved his arms from around her, she'd wake up, so he lay there with her in his arms, wishing this was how he would awaken every morning. But he knew it would never happen, and knew Justin would be home soon, so he told himself to wake her up in five minutes.

"Jenny," JC whispered in her ear.

"Go away," Jenny muttered, snuggling down against him.

JC sat up, pulling the covers with him.

"Come back!" Jenny said, frantically clawing that JC and the covers.

"Time to get up," JC said.

"No."

"I'd let you sleep, but I don't know when Justin'll be back, so I don't know if that's a good idea."

"Justin?" Jenny sat straight up. "Oh, God, he'll kill me!"

"He's gettin' pretty close to it, yeah," JC agreed, climbing out of bed and pulling the waistband of his pajama pants a little higher, onto his hips.

"Oh God...I didn't...Did I...Did we?" Jenny stammered. She didn't remember the night before and all she knew was she was he was shirtless and all she had on was a shirt. His shirt.

"No," JC grinned. "Unfortunately."

"Funny," Jenny muttered. "How come I'm wearing your shirt?"

"I'd like to know that myself," JC said, rubbing at his eyes. "You woke me up in the middle of the night, asked for it, and then went into the bathroom and put it on."

Jenny stared at him, her mouth open. "What'd I do after that?"

"Came back out and got back in bed," JC shrugged.

"Really?" Jenny asked.

"Yeah," JC muttered.

"Oh," Jenny kicked the covers off the bed onto the floor and sat on the empty bed, her legs stretched out in front of her.

"Can you get dressed?" JC pleaded. "Before I do something I won't regret until Justin finds out?"

Jenny, pretending she didn't hear JC, lifted her leg and inspected it playfully. "Do you have any lotion?"

JC looked at her funny.

"Well, mine's in my make-up bag," Jenny said defensively.

"This make-up bag?" JC held up a blue, see-through plastic make-up case from Garden Botanika and grinned.

"Yeah," Jenny grinned as he threw it to her.

"You wouldn't go to sleep without it in here," JC muttered.

Jenny grinned.

"Please, please, please, please get dressed now!" JC pleaded.

Jenny grinned as she slathered some lotion onto her legs. "But I'm hot. Can I wear my bikini?"

"No!" JC practically yelled. "Wear baggy pants and a big baggy long-sleeved shirt. Preferably in a color that looks hideous on you."

"Aww, JC," Jenny laughed. "No."

"Then at least put something on the bottom half of you," JC begged.

"Nothing on the top?" Jenny put some lotion on her arms.

"Both," JC amended. "You got a boyfriend and it ain't me."

"True," Jenny shrugged, stood up, and pulled on a pair of JC's sweats laying on the floor. "Borrowing pants."

"Sure you can," JC laughed.

"Thanks," Jenny said, rifling through JC's bag and pulling out a pair of socks and a black baseball hat.

"I'm going over to Justin's room now, ok?" Jenny said.

"Ok," JC shrugged, amused that she just went through his bag.

"Thanks, you're a peach," She grinned, put her right hand on JC's left cheek, and kissed his right cheek, then ran out the door.

JC sat down and tried to think, unaware that he was being watched. Carefully watched.
