Chapter 4: Rosie's A Lifesaver

As Angel watched Justin and JC talk and pack, she became more and more depressed. Justin was leaving her again. She wanted to tell him. She'd wanted to tell him so bad, but she just couldn't get the words out. She has cried herself to sleep that night after watching Justin and JC until they were completely out of sight.

The next morning she wandered around the empty house, looking at everything for the last time, clutching the razor blade tightly in her hand.

She went to the living room last, and saw that the TV was on to the Rosie O'Donnell show. Her family always left the TV on.

The musical guest was just starting up and Angel was shocked to see Justin's face on the screen.

She sat down to watch. She'd never paid much attention to Justin's career except to note that it routinely took him away from her.

He must have made it big, Angel thought, watching him sing a song. He's on Rosie. My little best friend is on Rosie. I guess I can put off killing myself until after this. It's live, I think.

She loved the song. She'd heard it on the radio, but she never knew it was Justin that sang it. She thought of the title: God Must Have Spent A Little More Time On You. She looked down at herself. Now I know where he got the extra time, she thought to herself.

*Ed. Note - I KNOW this isn't how it went, but it's for the story!*

After the commercials, Rosie interviewed the boys. Angel couldn't help but grin at the way the little things Justin did, like smile at the crowd, made them scream.

"So," Rosie smiled. "I know everyone wants to know this - got a girlfriend?"

JC, Chris, Lance, and Joey all said, "Nope - no time!"

Justin blushed and ducked his head.

Angel knew what that meant - he had something he wanted to share, but was too shy to say it without being prompted.

"Justin," Rosie said slyly. "I see you're blushing. Someone special?"

"He wishes," JC muttered, then he looked up in surprise when the microphone picked it up.

"Thanks, JC," Justin muttered sarcastically.

"Who is she? Wanna tell?" Rosie smiled at the boys of *N Sync.

I should be comitting suicide about now, Angel though, trying to tear herself away from the TV. She knew it was useless, she wanted to see who Justin liked.

"Well," Justin finally said. "There's this girl I like, but she got hurt real bad by someone and won't trust anyone." Justin shrugged, then smiled sweetly. "I love her, but I'm gonna be patient and wait until she wants to tell me how she feels - if she likes me or not. She's worth all the waiting. Her name is Angel. And if she's watching, I want her to know I'm gonna come back one day all the way."

Angel gasped, then smiled. Then frowned, realizing she had a date with Nick Carter. She looked down at the razor blade she was clutching so tightly her knuckles were white. It's not worth it, someone loves you! She thought.

"Aww, that is so sweet Justin," Rosie turned to the camera. "Angel, if you're watchin', this one's a keeper!"

"I know," Angel whispered, going upstairs to dress.
