I often think of what I am, the life that I have had
the good times I have been through and
the times that have gone bad.
Life is like a river rushing to the sea
And all your choices feeding it, helping it to be free
Think of it a highway, a long unwinding road
With everyday upon it adding to your load
Choices right and proper are a burden that gives power
But oh, those that hur and cripple give strenght by the hour
Think of those that have been hurt by emotions deep and burned
It's time to take the other road and use what I have learned
My highway intersections I have never used
And because of this my friends I love are hurt, torn and abused
How can I say I am good when I have lost my way
The light I carry with me now. I must burn by night and day
The other road is now the way I must make my life
And let my tounge teach as a book and not cut as the knife
It was once written in Holy Words
"That man shall love thy neighbor"
Now on down the road that shall be my final labor
