HELP FOR SEARCHING
Alta-vista:
(* can
be used in most search engines)
*Phrase
search : To search for 2 or more words in that order
then use double quotes (".......")
eg. "irish history"
*Wildcard seach :use an asterisk at the end
or within a word with at least 3 letters of the word. (.......*)
eg. brit* (this would search for things like britian,
british,britney)
*AND search : If u want more than 1 word to
be in the search use a plus sign in front of the word or
phrase(+.......)
eg. +london +"great britain"
*OR search : use space between words to
search for one or the other
eg. stratford shakespeare
*NOT search : use minus sign in front of the
word or phrase to exclude that word from the search
eg. +python -monty
Domain search : Put one of the below phrases
in front of your search to search that perticular thing
eg. domain:edu "free books" (use this to search
educational sites for "free books")
