Again CHS won the Conference meet - crowning 3 winners in Larry Long, Don Hall and Gary Kurdelmeier. The team won the District handily - and sent 5 men to state. Dual meets were close and Osage and New Hampton split two meets with the then Spartans. This was a large squad and future wrestling power was established bothe for Cresco and the University of Iowa down the road as Gary Kurdelmeier was a member of this team.
