Solid Chickasaw squad pins Cadets

After winning three of the first four matches on Friday at home against New Hampton, Crestwood's varsity wrestling team stumbled in the lower to middle weight classes as the Cadets lost the dual meet to the Chickasaws, 53-13.

Crestwood grapplers Luke Stika (171 pounds), Kyle Slifka (215) and Adam Lueschow (275) all won by decision to give the Cadets an early 10-6 lead. However, New Hampton won nine of the next 10 matches to win the dual.

Results from each individual weight class are listed below. The meet started at 171 pounds.

171 - Luke Stika (Cr) won a 5-3 dec. over Dylan Boos.

189 - James Schilling (NH) won by forfeit.

215 - Kyle Slifka (Cr) won a 12-4 maj. dec. over Patrick Hoffman.

275 - Adam Lueschow (Cr) won a 7-1 dec. over Blake Rasing.

103 - Ian Mitchell (NH) won by fall over Joel Thomas,1st period.

112 - Randy Evans (NH) won by fall over Jake Miller, 1st period.

119 - Russell Evans (NH) won an 8-5 dec. over Tannor Burke.

125 - Brady Schmauss (Cr) won a 7-3 dec. over Tyler Underwood.

130 - Casey Mai (NH) won by fall over David Reicks, 2nd period.

135 - Paul Schuchhardt (NH) won by fall over Levi Ledbeter, 2nd period.

140 - David Fuller (NH) won by fall over Sam Lepa, 4:00.

145 - Jaydon Mitchell (NH) won a 6-3 dec. over Trevor Thomas.

152 - Seth Utterback (NH) won by fall over Mitch Kriener, 2nd per.

160 - Matt Maher (NH) won by tech. fall over Ryan O'Connell.

The Cadets will take on Oelwein and Sumner on Friday in Oelwein. Beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Crestwood will host the Gary Kurdelmeier Duals.
