Schmauss, Reicks win titles at Oelwein;

Cadets third overall

Competing at the Oelwein Invi-tational on Saturday, the Crestwood varsity wrestling team earned third place out of nine teams with 194 points.

Cadet senior Brady Schmauss won an individual title at 125 pounds, and teammate David Reicks won a title at 130 pounds.

"This was the first first-place finish for David Reicks," Crestwood head coach Doug Hatch said. "To have seven guys in the finals was awesome. We scored points at 13 weights, and we were in the hunt for first place the whole day."

Five Cadets earned second place at the invitational including: Jake Miller, 112; Levi Ledbeter, 135; Trevor Thomas, 145; Kyle Slifka, 215; and Adam Lueschow, 275.

Tannor Burke placed third at 119, and Luke Stika took fourth at 171. Joel Thomas (103), Sam Lepa (140) and Mitch Kriener (152) all placed fifth for Crestwood.

Clear Lake won the invite with 213.5 points and Independence was second at 202.5. Benton took fourth with 154, Valley was fifth with 136.5 and Starmont was sixth with 125 points. Oelwein placed seventh, Central was eighth and Clayton Ridge placed ninth.
