The following established procedures will go into effect this winter season. It should be recognizes that the primary cause of cancelling school is to provide a margin of safety, especially for those rural students who ride buses or drive. If the students safety is an issue, it is always best to play it safe. Please remember that this is a tough call.
With this in mind, the following guidelines have been adopted:
1. If school is cancelled for the day , all activity practices scheduled for the morning shall be cancelled (if any are scheduled). A decision will be made later in the day relative to afternoon/evening practices and games/performances. This decision will be made by the school administration as soon as possible.
2. If it is announced that the morning session will begin one hour late, than all practices normally scheduled prior to school will also be one hour late. If school is two hours late than all practices normally scheduled prior to school will be two hours late.
3. If School is dismissed early because of inclement weather, then afternoon practices shall be cancellled. An announcement will be made as soon as possible relative to evening games/meets/performances.
This policy applies to all school activities whether or not they are scheduled within a school facility. Practice sessions will not be scheduled at another location in an attempt to circumvent this policy.
