Kenshin and Kaoru: Valentine Special

Smiling sweetly, the girl says, "Yes, Kenshin?"
Kenshin moves closer, his eyes fixed on her, "I...I...I..."

"Oh please, Kenshin, say it...say it...
SPLASH!
"EEEEE...!!!" Kaoru suddenly wakes up, "wha...?!"

Kenshin suddenly rushes into her and shakes her shoulders wild

"Oh no, Ms. Kaoru! You'd had a nightmare! Are you alright?!"
"Kenshin?" Kaoru blinks, "Why? What's wrong?"
"Well we should be the ones asking that", Sano blurts out, "we just heard you saying Kenshin, say it..say it... so we rushed over and tried to wake you up..." Kaoru blushes to the roots of her hair, " you were hugging that pillow so tight like a lunatic so I asked Yahiko to get a pail of water and splash it on your face. HAH! Nice morning shower, isn't it?" ^_^
Yahiko gives a laugh, "so what do you want Kenshin to say, ha?", Yahiko hugs himself, " Oh, Kaoru, I love you so much that I want to marry you... ?" Yahiko and Sano look at each other and laugh aloud, "HAHAHA!"

Kenshin blushes. Kaoru's shaking with red with annoyance

"HOW DARE YOU MAKE FUN OF ME, YOU JERKS!" she picks up the wooden pail and swings it over her head, "NOW LET'S SEE WHO'LL HAVE THE LAST LAUGH!"
"Yaiiikks!!!", the trio quickly get on their feet and dart out of the room, while being followed by flying pail and flying mattresses.

Just what is wrong with her?!", Yahiko grumbles while sweeping the porch and nursing his aching butt, "it was just a joke"
"Hey, dont ask me", Sano answers while sitting on the porch and nursing his broken leg, "Kaoru's being so weird lately. Sometimes I think she's gone bananas, right, Kenshin?"
"I dont know" Kenshin answers while doing his laundry , with an ice pack over his swollen head, "Kaoru's deosn't seem sck to me, but I admit that she's kinda weird lately. She's angry at me for no reason at all"

"RIGHT YOU ARE!"

Everybody jumps, "Hey! Who said that?!"
Sano looks down under him, "~_~ Oh, it's you, Tae. Just what are you doing under our house?
"Oh, hihihi...I'm just passing by" -_^"Oh, forget that. I have something important to say. Especially to you, Kenshin. and it concerns Kaoru.
"Me?!" he says bewilderedly
"Yeah, right", Sano says, "and before you spill the details, would you mind getting out of there and talk to us like a normal person?"

"Huhuhu...it's just a dream..." Kaoru mops while sitting in the corner of her room, " I can't believe it's just a dream!", she picks up a banana, gobbles it and shakes her left fist, "That darn Kenshin! Just when he'll be able to say how he feels toward me?", she picks up a rice cake, gobbles it and shakes her right fist, "Why do I seem so invisible to him?!!! now that I'm upset, there's nothing to do but eat, eat and eat!"

"KENSHIN! THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!" Tae points out her forefinger at Kenshin's nose, " Kaoru's upset because of you!"
"~_~'Why me?"
"Uhhh...how could you be so naive?!" Tae says with irritance
"Yeah, Kenshin", Sano agrees, " how could you be so naive? You know she hates catfish but you still cooked one for dinner last night. Now her upset stomach also upsets her head."
Tae yells at his face, "Stupid! That's not what I mean!
"Ah, I know!" Yahiko looks at Kenshin, " how could you be so naive? Kaoru's upset because your cooking is so good, she cant help eating a lot that she's becoming more of a pig everyday. And that will surely ruin her figure. That is, if she has one, hehehe"
"Grrr...shut up!" Tae grabs Kenshin's neck and shahes it hard, " if you dont so something quick you'll regret it!"
"@_@akkk!!! Calm down, Ms. Tae.."
Tae shakes his neck more wildly, "how could I calm down?! Kaoru's being like that because of your foolosh ignorance! You dont know anything about women! Why can't you be more considerate?! You... you...you..."
Yahiko watches Tae with amazament. He whispers to Sano, "Wow, Tae is really serious. It doesnt seem like her"
"*_* Women...they are scary..."

"Akkk!!!...Please let me go, Ms. Tae, I can't breathe!
Tae quickly let go of his neck and apologizes after gaining her composure, "Oh, I'm very sorry! I didn't mean to shook you so hard. I just want to shake your wits"
"@_@ Gee, you'd really shaken my wits out of me", Kenshin answers while gasping for air
"Yeah," Yahiko says," you'd almost shaken his head out of his body" ~_~'
"Hey, quit this fooling around", Sano snaps," Just what do you want Kenshin to do?"
"I'll do anything, just dont ask me to sing and dance", Kenshin answers
Tae's eyes lit up, "Well, only one...just one..."

Full moon. The stars are twinkling across the night sky. A long haired girl is standing beside the river, watching the fireflies. But her thoughts are far away. Wondering about...

"Aren't they pretty?"
"Huh?", Kaoru is surprised to hear a very familiar voice. Her heart beats faster. She looks behind and sees Kenshin smiling, " Kenshin? Why are you here?"
Kenshin stands beside her, "I thought you're angry at me?"
Kaoru sighs, and then smiles, " you just don't know anything, that's all", she looks away. Kenshin looks at her for a minute and then he gazes at the moon
" Is there something you're dreaming of? Something that you want to happen?"
"A dream?...."she rembers her dream last morning, " yes, I have a dream that might just remain as a dream, nothing more"
" What is it?"
"Well it's about me and...", she gives Kenshin a sharp look, "JUST WHY ARE YOU ASKING?!!!!"
Kenshin chuckles, "now you're back to youor old self again...I'm glad"
"Huh?"
"Oh, nothing", he returns his gaze to the river, "You see, you shouldn't stop dreaming...and believing. Just as I have never stopped believing to the person who is most important to me. She's the only one who accepted me without question, teh first one who believed in me after so many years of isolation. Before, all I have are the guilt and pains from the past. But now, I have a new home, a new life. I may not have always shown how I feel towards her but the Divine knows the truth lying deep within my heart. "
Kaoru is near crying," Kenshin..."
"The truth is... I care for her more deeply than she thinks..." Kenshin sighs and looks at her, "...but I dont know if she understands. You think she does, Kaoru?"
Kaoru wipes away her tears, "I think she does. She has always known it...but sometimes she forgets. Will you forgive her, Kenshin?"
He flashes his gentlest smile, " of course I do. Besides, I love the way she pokes at me."
Kaoru giggles. Kenshin holds out his hand towards her, "It's getting late. Shall we go home now?"
Kaoru holds his hand, " "Yes, I love that"
