Chapter Nine

The Father Abbot bowed to the Emperor of Otteral, "Your majesty, I am a humble Abbot from Redwall Abbey, which has been unfortunately captured by the evil fox warlord, Whiplorn, this is the Abbey Doctor, Serena, and the Abbey's Assistant Dibbun Caretaker, Kellist. We are in need of a hideout?"

Jaz's hard-face broke into a smile as he embraced the Father Abbot, "Welcome to Otteral!!" He clapped and a burly otter stood ramrod straight, "Streamtail, tell the troops to find all the Redwallers and bring them down the access tunnels to the extra rooms." Streamtail, a large otter saluted and bounded off towards the tunnels in the far side of the cavern.

Soon, Redwallers were being dragged out of the tunnels into the large cavern. Every Redwaller who had left the Abbey, and Deathpaw, were dragged in front of Jaz, who in turn greeted the visitors.

Amber pointed up the tunnels, "Where do those lead?"

Jaz smiled, "I'm glad you asked, I'll show you."

Several hours later

Amber and Jaz returned smiling, Amber walked over to Edward. "Thanks to Jaz, I have an idea how to get Redwall back."

Kellist was walking through the cavern looking for Whitetip.

Lilla saw Kellist and she ran over to him, Twyla trailing behind, "Watcha looking for??"

"Whitetip, I think he can explain my dream."

"Hmm, what's it about?"

Kellist explained the odd poem he heard on the night before, "I only remembered it now."

Twyla thought deeply, "I understand most of it."

"What??" Lilla and Kellist said at the same time, Whitetip then walked in, "Hey! What's wrong?"

"Whitetip, just the gatehouse keeper I've been trying to find, Twyla was about to explain my dream. Continue."

Twyla cleared her throat, "I've lived in the Great South Lands for almost my whole life, and I know every single landmark in the lands. Far past the forest: The forest is the Great Forest. Down through the Otter's Mouth: The Otter's Mouth is the source of the river Palana. Along the desert, that's on the Big Inland Sea: The Inland Sea is the marsh and the desert is a dry island in the center. Into a dark mouth in the ground: The Dark Mouth is Razor Gorge."

"The Sword of Martin is in the Great South Lands!!" Kellist cheered, "Question, where is the Great South Lands?"

"SOUTH!!" Whitetip, Twyla, and Lilla yelled.

Whiplorn was going nuts, just yesterday, he found four rats dead in their dormitories. No one had been in or out of the abbey, but their necks were snapped.

"Sir!" Brassas saluted. Whiplorn turned to Brassas with such an evil face that Brassas lost all nerve, "Th-th-th-there is an-n-n-nother rat dead sir!"

Whiplorn roared and tossed a chair at Brassas, who quickly ran out of the room.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mother Amber and Streamtail snuck out of the closet, they moved a brick on the wall and left the Abbey via a hole in the ground behind a bush.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Esellis and Raya shook hands, "So, you want me to help you find a badger??" Raya thought, "One left North this morning, you won't miss 'im."

Esellis bowed, "May I borrow a small contingent of your army??"

"No problem."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dimitri, Shawnie, Saberpaw, and Amberly were walking North. They spotted the Long Patrol resting by the River Moss, Saberpaw called, "Ahoy there, any room for a bally chat, wot!"
"Saberpaw??" A tall grey hare queried, the hare hugged his compatriot, "What're you doin here?? I thought you were still down south with bally Broadstripe."
"Aye, but we need your help, a stoat is attacking Salamandastron, and our army is too small to fight it. Will you help us Greyjay??"
"Of course. Pack up Long Patrol, we're gonna fight for Sallymandystorn!!"
Caitin saw why the raccoon was laughing, the boat looked beautiful, but it was a rusty bucket.
The tiller needed fixing and so did the mast, the rudder was hanging on one hinge. Caitin growled and grabbed the raccoon around the throat, "Grrrrrrr."
The raccoon smiled, "No refunds."
"RAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!" Caitin hurled the raccoon into the bay and produced a small bag of coins.
"Hey!! That's mine!!!"
Caitin laughed and walked off the shabby fishing boat.
Caitin found another boat, "May I borrow your boat??" He said to the shrew standing by it.
"I guess, my name's Aldalak. Used to be in the SIGSL, but them shrew warrior are to darn argumentative. How about I bring you to Mossflower?"
"That is exactly where I want to go. How much??"
"It's free."
