The Stranger
just another stranger,
you came knocking at my door
let yourself in through the open lock
a person, nothing more.
just another flashy icon
fighting for my attention
at the onset of our acquaintance
you were barely even mentioned.
what was it about you?
your attitude, your grace?
you made things i haven’t shown in years
spill freely down my face.
your being grabbed me
it pulled me in.
ever you and ever me
held closely, safe within.
what made your red hair pale?
how could you just leave me here?
that angel’s smile, those chocolate eyes
held nothing to your fear.
will you be around when i wake up?
your energy helping me along...
gone, but never silent, love
singing your silver spider song.
