"So, Adam, what do you think about the idea? If we can negotiate a good deal, I think it would be good." I crossed my fingers behind my back for lick, hoping Adam would feel the same way.
"Well, if we're guaranteed out jobs when we come back, Summer and you can both be back in school by time, and if not, the semester is compensated for, I'd say we do it. It'll be a wicked experience." Adam smiled. "I hope they can find replacements for us here."
"I'm sure they'll manage. How are we going to do security for that many people? It'll be nuts! Hey, I didn't think that the venue security toured with them. We're not personal security, are we?" I looked at Adam. "Are we?"
He grinned. "That's actually what we talked about after you left yesterday. They have enough bodyguards, but what they need are security organizers, a home base, that co-ordinates venue security so that it is all the same and everyone knows what is going on. They're going to get you to do assistant stuff for the main co-ordinator. You'll be working with Jord, so you'll be familiar with him and how he works. They want me to be one of the venue floor contacts, so we can communicate with you. Sound good?" Adam looked at me.
"Of course! That's excellent! I was a little worried that I'd end up drowning in a mass of teenyboppers. I'm glad Jord will be there, we work well together. Hey, what will Summer be doing?" I asked. "She wouldn't want to just sit around."
"She'll be busy. They had a massage therapist and physiotherapist on their last tour, but they made a deal with them that they'd get them an assistant for this tour. That'll be Summer, if the therapist agrees. I guess between the five guys and twelve dancers, it's a lot of work. I think she can handle it though."
"Oh, definitely!" I agreed. Summer would be so excited! This was going to be so much fun! I was about to go tell Summer when the phone rang. I reached across the desk to answer it. "Mall security, Cassandra speaking." I waited for a reply.
"Oh, hey Cassy, I'm glad I caught you. Is this your lunch break?" a raspy male voice spoke.
"Uh, yeah, it is. This is AJ, right?" I asked. I got an affirmative grunt from the other end of the line.
"Yep. Uh, I was calling with more info about the job. I was talking to management and they say that if you impress them and the therapist approves your friend, you're on the tour. When is a good time for you to meet with them?" He was so calm as he asked.
I, however, was on the other end of the line absolutely freaking out. "Uh, well...we, uh... work on weekdays and Saturdays, so maybe on Sunday? That would be the day after tomorrow. We can probably do whatever time is best for your people though." I jumped in a circle, wrapping the phone cord around myself. Adam laughed at me and left the room.
"Cool, so, uh, how 'bout we send a limo to your place Sunday at one? I'll need your address and phone number, of course." AJ said. I could tell he was smiling at the other end of the line. I felt like playing, so I thought I'd tease him.
"Oh, so is that why you called, not your, uh, agents? Just to get my number?" I laughed at the sudden silence at the other end of the line. "It's ok, I'm joking! We live at 1811 South Park Street, and our number is 416-2505. Got that?" I asked.
"Uh, yeah. Who's your roomie again?"
"Her name's Summer, she's the girl coming with us, if we get to come..." I trailed off, not really finishing my sentence. "Speaking of Summer, I have to go explain all of this to her. I'll see you in a couple of days then?" I asked.
"Sure thing!" He answered. "Bye then!"
"Bye." I said as I hung up. This is going to be awesome! I thought, looking at my watch as I headed out the door. Shit! 10 minutes left in break! I realized as I ran to tell Summer. She was going to be so excited!
