Eric Brady, son of Roman Brady and Marlena Evans, returned to Salem after a long absence. For many yeas he lived in Colorado with his maternal grandparents. Since the time of his arrival back in Salem Eric has been nothing but supportive and caring of his family. Soon after his return Eric began to work at Titan as a photographer. He coerced a waitress he knew, Nicole Walker, to model at that same company. The two of them became romantically entangled after that. He specifically expressed that he wanted an honest relationship. However, Nicole continued to keep her past a secret. Even when their relationship zoomed to the intimate level, she was lying. Eric was crushed when Nicole married his nemesis, Lucas Roberts, and refused to have nothing to do with him. Eric needed someone to love.
Greta Von Amberg was a princess’s daughter. Her mother, Princess Gina Von Amberg, and a family friend, Father John, bathed her in love. Yet, she often found herself alone at boarding school or alone while her mother was off to a social gathering. Then, she went to a boarding school in Louisiana and decided that she wanted to act. It was there where she received a mysterious note from Stefano DeMira that announced the death of her mother. Greta was crushed; she had never been able to say good-bye. Since acting was her profession she blindly accepted a job offer from the magician Ernesto. She was to exchange places with Hope Williams, who was being held captive in a cage. There was an explosion and Greta was severely scarred. Stefano DeMira helped her nurse her wounds at Maison Blanche. However, she could not take the pain and ran away into the bayou. She remained there for many years: living among the animals. Until Bo Brady came along, befriended her, and took her back to Salem. Her scarred face was mended through the help of John, the amnesiac Father John. She was looking for a friend and found it in Eric.
Eric and Greta can be defined as the world’s best-matched couple. Both were looking for love… and now is the chance to have it! Eric has been hurt in the past by ones he has loved: Greta has been hurt in the past by ones she loved. Their friendship is so pure and untainted. The best relationships develop out of friendships. Both say that they don’t want to fall in love again (or ever), but why can’t they see that there is the most pure form of love right in front of their faces? They stare into each other’s eyes so deeply that I wonder if they had gotten lost. Their body contact is electric. Greta and Eric touch each other playfully, when they are scared, and when they just need somebody. They want to share their emotions with one another. It seems as though they are in a relationship already and don’t even know it.
