How to eat the flesh and drink the blood of Jesus?
Jesus told His disciples to eat His flesh and drink His blood:
"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son
of Man and drink His blood, you have no
life in you." John 6:53.
Did the disciples bite and sip at the moment or thereafter? What about
His followers in the last two thousand years?
His instruction is so clear. By comparing the following two verses
that the Lord made during the sermon of 'the Bread from Heaven'
John 6:22-59, we can easily understand what He meant by 'eat my flesh
and drink my blood'.
John 6:40 | John 6:54 |
And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that
everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day. everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him = |
Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood |

'Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This
is an hard saying; who can hear it?' John 6:60.
'But Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have
the words of eternal life. Also we have come to believe
and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God"'
John 6:68.
