The Current Events
8-16-99: Today we started band camp (oh goodie...) We're learning our fieldshow. This year's theme is Swing. We're actually thinking of bringing in our school's swing club to dance on the field with us. That'll be cool. We're also working on our routine for the first pep rally that Erin made up. It's looking really good i think. We're doing the routine to Blink 182's "What's My Age Again". It'll be really cool and we think the school will like it. 9-10-99: Our first football ball game, ah!! Well last night (9/9/99) was our first fieldshow thingy at a football game! We did the first song of our competition show ("In the Mood") and a Beach Boys Melody. We did ok, but the show will get better. Our Varsity football players won our game 48-0! Yahoo!!!! =) Our next football game is next Thursday and hopefully we'll do a little better! So for now, Bye!
9-26-99: Well we've had to football games since i last wrote and we've won both of them! We kicked both La Sierra and Temescal's Butt!! The second football game we performed song 1 (in the mood) and song 2 (zoot suit riot) along with Star Wars and Duel of the Faits. And our third football game we performed song 1, 2, 3 (you made me love you), and song 4 (sing, sing, sing). We swing dance in song four and we looked great! We also played rockin robin at the end and swung in that too. Boy were we tired! =) Next week i think we'll be performing our whole fieldshow. And our pep rally is coming up soon too. so i'll write more when this stuff happens...
10-2-99: Well we had another football game last night and our fighting wildcats are still undefeated!!! We performed the same show last week except we did all of the routine to song number 1. Thats basically it for now and i'll write more after the pep rally on Wednesday...
10-7-99: Well, yesterday was our first pep rally and we did really good!! Everyone loved us and thought the routine was really good. A first for us of course...=) Well, thats all for now i'll write more when i get back from our homecoming game tomorrow night....
10-17-99: Well Homecoming was good. we won! And last friday (10-15-99) we also won against Murrieta! For once! =) And yesterday we took first place at our first competition which was in Escondido at Orange Glen High School!! It was a lot of fun and our team is looking good!
11-20-99: Well, our football team are co-champs with Temecula in the sunbelt league!! Yay!! Sorry, we're not used to having a winning team..*grin* but anyways, we had a competition in Apple Valley last Saturday (11-13-99) and we ended up taking 4th place (last). But it's ok, we were misplaced division wise which hurt us in the long run..We were supposed to go to Temecula Competition this weekend, but the band director pulled us out *mumbling* stupid son of a... well nevermind. Well, we also won our game last night in the first round of the playoffs against Attawanda..So on to round two for next week!
11-27-99: Hey again! Another win!! Our Wildcat football team sure is looking good this year! We won our game against Norco last night 48 to 46...And what a game it was! We started out in the behind but caught up and fought for the win. We also performed for the away team (Norco) with only 7 of our girls (it being after thanksgiving and all) and only about half of the band..It was fun. Next week i think we play Alta Loma next saturday and i'll be back to report on it!
11-30-99: Well we're working on our christmans pep rally routine right now and it's really cool. The song we are using is "Anthem for the Year 2000" by Silverchair and we started learning the routine this morning. So far so good! This routine, made by Sarah, looks awesome and should be a lot of fun...And i know, you're probably thinking "isn't it a christmas pep rally?" it is but the students would hate a christmas song routine so for us it's a millennium pep rally...whoever follows the theme anyways? *grin* I'll be back to report on our Saturday game at Chaffey Community College in Rancho Cucamunga next week...It's the chamionship baby! Go Paloma!

12-4-99: WE WON!! We beat the Alta Loma Braves tonight 34-17! We're gonna play at Anaheim stadium on live cable tv against Rancho Cucamonga next week!! The Championships Baby!! And on Thursday (the 2nd) we performed in the Temecula Valley Electric Light Parade..It was a lot of fun. Well i'll be back next week to report on the game..Have your fingers crossed!!
12-10-99: Hey all! Well, we lost..*sniff sniff* to Rancho Cucamunga 22 to 30...Oh well, theres always next year! =) Well, we performed 1,2, and 3 tonight..it was a pretty good performance, but during song 2 the stupid band skipped a part in the song without even realizing it! So there we were doin' the flag part of the routine and then the drill part of the song comes on! So we got to look like fools during that part not knowing what the heck happened..stupid band..oh well...Well, our fieldshow season is finally over!! Yay!!! *smiles* So i guess this is the end of this year's fieldshow journal..Check out the Winterguard Journal for the newest stuff after tonight..See ya round! P.S. oh yeah, the pep rally for next week was cancelled and was rescheduled for the 2nd week after we come back from Christmas break..check the winter guard journal for info on it! =)
