Jessica woke up and ran up to the attic and opened the journals. She started reading where she had left off. More and more about Pikachu, plans that didn't work, and threatening to be fired by the boss. Then came something out of the blue: a tearstained page, with shaky handwriting.
James: The most horrible thing I could ever imagine happened today. WE were all walking again, as the twerps Pidgeotto had wrecked the balloon. WE were all mad, and Jessie picked up a rock and threw it at a bird sitting in the grass. She didn't know it was a Spearow. and that was the worst mistake she ever made. a whole flock of Spearow rose out of the grass, and started chasing us. Moewth and I had run ahead, ahead of Jessie, when we heard her scream. She had twisted her ankle, and fallen. The Spearows were attacking her, all of them. I came running back, screaming her name. She looked up, and screamed "No, James, go on!" I couldn't leave her there, never. The awful birds screamed in protest, I took out my blaster and froze enough of them to scare the rest of them away. Jessie was laying on the ground, blood streaked through her hair.
"No, Jessie. I love you!", I whispered.
"I love you too" she whispered back, weak from loss of blood.
She couldn't be, my best friend, my only friend. She had saved me on the St. Anne, and from the ghost on Madiens Peak. She had always been the strong one, and now I had to be, for her. She was asleep all night, I paced the hospital halls all night. Finally, she was awake.
Jessie: I don't think it's possible to feel much worse, and I've been throuona be a while before we do any blasting off. It hurts just as much, but at least it isn't boring. Then I thought about what we said, what I said. Did he mean it? I know I did. Meowth came in to see me, and he had brought some donuts, from James, and all of my makeup. Trust Meowth to cheer you up when you least expect him to.
James: I hope Jessie won't be mad for me not visiting her today, but I had a good reason. I had to go get her something, something that means a lot more to me and her than a box of donuts.
Jessie: Today was the best day of my life. James came today. At first I was a little mad at him for not coming yesterday, but than he gave me a little package. I opened it, and in it was a diamond engagement ring.
The diarys ended here. Jessica could tell whether or not Jessie had said yes. She saw a little piece of paper tucked at the back. She opened it. It was a letter, which said:
Dear Cassidy and Butch: WE did it!!!! We finally caught that stupid Pikachu, he's with the boss, and we've been promoted! We also learned: say the motto as you leave victorious, and use surprise when you arrive. WE finally did it! Also, you're invited to me and James' wedding in 3 months, June 8. You're also invited to Meowth's wedding, after he was promoted Meowzy fell deeply in love with him. It's the same day as ours. Good bye! Jessie
Another letter fell out: Dear Cassidy and Butch: WE have a 4 year old daughter, as you know. And the boss is sending us on the mission no one has returned from, to catch MewTwo. My mother died from this mission, and I'm worrried about Jessica. I don't know if we will be an exception to this, and if we aren't, I ask you to take care of Jessica, please. Hopefully this letter will not be my last, Jessie.
The letter was her last. Jessica's eyes flooded with tears, but some of them were happy. She had found a way back to her past.
