Other: This story came out of the imagination of Haley and myself. It's kinda
what we'd like to see happen in the Pokémon world... if we were there,
anyway. To make this story work, I kinda had to screw with people's ages.
First of all, Jessie, James, Mondo, and Brock are all about seven years older
than they usually would be. And Misty's age has been boosted a lot. Also,
Haley and I are just weird teens in real life, but you can't have sex if
everyone's 13-17, now can you? So... if you can't figure out ages... The age
index!
J and J: 24. Brock and Misty: 23. Haley, Dee and Mondo: 21. Ash and
Tracey: 20
Team Rocket fans, don't get discouraged! I know TR doesn't appear in part
one, but I needed an opening! They ARE in part two, and onward, a lot. But
Haley wanted bitch-fights and Brock-Haley love scenes, so it isn't ALL Team
Rocket. Oh well, Brock's the next best thing. Oh, and you can e-mail me at

Part One
Brock, Misty, Haley, Dee, Mondo, Jessie and James were the only members of
the RAA (Rebels Against Ash), but they were just as deadly as a thousand
members would have been. Brock and Haley were the voices of reason and
strategy; Jessie and James were the type of people who would throw themselves
into a battle without a second thought; and Dee and Mondo were a healthy
mixture of the two. Misty, however, seemed to be good for only two things:
getting information out of Ash and annoying everyone. She literally threw
herself at Brock, which pissed Haley off more than you could imagine. But,
she made a
great spy, and every organization needs a spy.
Ash and Tracey, along with Pikachu and hundreds of others, were planning to take over the world. Ash had brainwashed many (including the other gym leaders) into joining his force. As soon as they were strong enough they would attack the world and dominate. That's where the RAA came in. Their mission was to destroy this organization before Ash rose into power. For that, truly, would be the end of the world as we know it.
On this particular day, Brock, Haley and Dee were translating documents that had come into their hands (thanks to Misty's work). Dee skimmed a sheet of paper, rubbing her temples.
"Augh!" she finally exclaimed. "There's too much to decode, and I'm getting a headache. Can't we stop for a little while?"
Brock shook his head. "We have to find the location of the secret entrance to Ash's HQ. Once we do that, we can rest."
"What about Jessie, James, Mondo and Misty?" Dee complained. "Why don't they do some of the work?"
"Because they don't understand the codes," Haley explained, "you know that. Besides, it's a lot quieter in here without Misty falling over Brock."
"Haley, you're my best friend, and you know I wouldn't usually do this," Dee began, slamming the papers down on the desk, "but I'm taking a break."
"You can't," Brock insisted.
Dee walked out the door, commenting lightly, "Watch me."
Haley sighed. "She's great in a crisis, but sitting still never was her thing."
Just then Misty pranced in through the doorway. "How's my favorite guy?"
"Okay," Brock replied absent-mindedly.
She swung her arms around his neck. "Aw, you look tired. Why don't you take a wittle rest?"
"Why don't you get the hell out of here?" Haley suggested. "We're actually doing something important."
Misty pouted. "Brockie, you're not gonna let her say that about me, are you? I help, right?"
Brock shifted nervously. "Uh, yeah, spying is important... but we have to do this now. It's crucial to the mission."
"Oh wow!" Misty exclaimed. "Can you tell me about it?"
"I guess..."
Haley interrupted, grabbing Misty by the shirt and pulling her out of the room, "Top secret, yada yada, you'll find out when everyone else does. Get lost, we're busy."
"Let go of me!" Misty protested. Once out of Brock's hearing range she added, "Bitch."
"You're a two-faced slut, and as soon as I can prove it your dead," Haley said quietly. She closed the door behind her, so that she and Misty were facing each other in the hallway. "I know you're working for Ash, and this is part of your mission."
"You can't prove anything!" Misty yelped shrilly. "I'm completely devoted to Brock! Why else would we be sleeping together?!"
"Because you wanna wheedle information out of him and piss me off at the same time," Haley snapped. "Brock's blinded by something... I don't know what... but as soon as he figures out the real you behind that skanky make-up your love-live won't mean shit."
"You're just pissed 'cause you aren't getting any," Misty retorted smugly.
Haley smacked her in the jaw. "I'm not interested in that, bitch! I have values, unlike some people!"
"We'll see whose tactics work the best when this is over," Misty leaned over next to Haley and hissed in her ear. "And after tonight it will be over. I'll have the information I need, Ash and I will be together, and you, Brock and the rest can go to hell. Nice guys finish last: remember that."
"We'll see all right," Haley muttered, watching Misty flounce off down the hall. She walked back into the room where Brock was stationed. "I sent Misty off to do some other work."
Brock looked up. "I wish you two wouldn't be so hostile. I love you, but I'm in love with Misty."
"I know," Haley quickly changed the subject. "Found anything yet?"
Brock brightened up, nodding happily. "Everything we need to know. In two days we'll launch the big attack; the one that decides who wins and who looses. Each and every one of us will sneak in through the secret entrance and attack during the early morning hours, when Ash least expects it. If we plan everything right it'll work, Ash'll be dead, and all those brainwashed civilians can get back to their normal lives."
"Are you sure that's smart?" Haley wondered. "Risking everyone on a wild mission like that?"
Brock's voice was ice cold. "In case you've forgotten, my family's in there. I'm not waiting any longer than I have to rescue them from that hellhole."
"Right. Sorry," she hesitated, then continued, "Don't tell Misty about our plan tonight, okay? Only tell Dee and the former TR members."
"Why?"
"I don't trust that woman," Haley explained. "I'm sorry, but it's just-"
"You're jealous," Brock finished.
"No..."
He sighed. "This was has hurt us all. Don't worry, once it's over life will be like it used to be. You and Dee can go and finish your senior year of college, and the rest of us can get back to our old routines."
"I don't think I want life the way it used to be," Haley told him. "I'm glad I met all of you. Well, almost all of you."
Brock laughed. "Some people just don't get along, no matter how much you want them to."
"Yeah, well, promise you won't tell her?"
"Scout's honor," he joked. He looked up at the clock. "God, it's late. Dinner's probably ready. You go on ahead, I'll clean up in here."
Haley walked out of the room and down the hallway. Brock's promise didn't assure her. Misty had her ways of getting Brock to talk; this Haley knew. Whether it was liquoring him up, or just flat-out seducing him, Misty would find out if she really had to. And she did.
Haley devised a plan to stop Misty once and for all. It was risky, but it just might work.

Part Two
Later that evening, after all the good little boys and girls had gone to sleep, Dee and her Team Rocket friends were still up, playing poker and discussing that evening's turn of events.
"Jessie, never cook again, okay?" Dee suggested, studying her cards. "That chicken tasted like shit."
"As opposed to your two-recipe cooking skills," Jessie teased.
"A person can live off canned soup for months if they really need to. I did when Haley was studying for finals and didn't have time to cook," Dee told her. "I'll see your twenty and raise you thirty."
"It's not Jessie's fault!" James said protectively. "Brock's the only cook out of all of us, and he's too busy to do anything but study frickin' reports. I fold."
"Speaking of which," Jessie began, "what do you think of that new plan he's got? I'll raise you twenty."
"A suicide mission in two days," Dee mused, "Who woulda thought this'd be over so fast? I'll raise you twenty more."
"I'm glad we're doing this," Mondo commented. "It's about time we did something, instead of sitting around here as Misty brings in information. I fold. You both must have something good."
"Hey, I'm all for gunning people up," Dee justified. "But come on. This is insane. We'll probably all be dead in a couple days." She showed her hand. "A royal flush."
"Dammit!" Jessie exclaimed, handing over the money. "You really think we'll be dead soon?"
"Prepare for the worst, that's my motto," Dee explained. "That way you'll never be disappointed."
James grinned slyly at Jessie. "Dead, huh? It'd be too bad if we died without... well..."
"And speaking of mottos..." Jessie trailed off.
"I'm prepared to denounce some evils."
"Make it double."
The two raced off to their bedroom, slamming and locking the door behind them.
Dee laughed. "Kids these days."
Mondo stared at the table. "I'm kinda glad they left. I, uh, wanted to talk to you about something."
"Shoot."
"Well, we've known each other for a while, right? Like, three years?" Mondo asked.
Dee nodded. "Yeah, we met in a chat room, and ever since we've e-mailed each other. You're the one who told us about Ash."
"Oh, I did drag you into this. Sorry."
"Sorry? Are you kidding?!" Dee exclaimed. "I'm having the time of my life! They don't teach you this at Pokémon University! Besides, if you hadn't I might be one of those brainwashed chicks. Remember? Professor Oak and Ash were asking us to sign up for a 'club' and Haley and I almost joined, but you warned me, and we hauled ass to your hideout. I should be thanking you!"
"I guess so," Mondo agreed.
"So what were you saying?"
Mondo fiddled with something Dee couldn't see under the table. "We know each other pretty well, right? All the bad things... and good things."
"Pretty much," Dee replied cautiously. She raised an eyebrow. "Are you saying what I think you're saying?"
Mondo pulled a small case out of his pocket. Inside was a thin gold band with a small diamond embedded in the center. "I'd, er, I'd like to have the rest of my life to know you better, if you'll say yes."
He fitted the simple, yet elegant ring on Dee's ring finger. She studied it, smiling.
"Well?" he asked hopefully.
"No. You see... I'm secretly in love with James," Dee said dramatically. Seeing Mondo's frown, she added quickly. "I'm kidding, it's a joke! Of course Mondo, I'd love to!"
The next morning Dee and Jessie walked out of their rooms, whistling.
"Why're you so happy?" Dee wondered.
"I got some," Jessie replied smugly. She threw an arm around Dee's shoulder. "Well, that explains me. Now what about you Miss Virgin till I'm Married?"
Dee held up her ring finger, showing off the engagement ring. "Mondo proposed last night. I'm gonna get some."
"Good for you. I remember my wedding day," Jessie said wistfully.
"Somehow I can't see you in a white dress surrounded my relatives and flowers," Dee commented.
"I wasn't. We eloped. Giovanni's friend married us in the Viridian Gym," she stopped smiling. "I wonder how he's doing?"
"Who? Gio?"
She nodded. "Ash got him along with the other gym leaders. I don't know how he conned our boss..." she changed the subject. "Ready to kick some Ketchum ass?"
"One day and counting. I can't wait."
Jessie had a thought. "Have you ever even handled a gun? I mean, they don't exactly give you killing lessons in school."
Dee blushed. "Well, not really. There was this one game at the arcade that I was obsessed with for a while... it was from the 80's and was about Russians attacking. I got so good at it that I could hit a target in one shot. Does that count?"
"May God have mercy on your soul," Jessie snickered. "You'd better have a frickin' bulletproof suit on."
The two didn't have anymore time to talk, because at that moment they walked into the kitchen. Misty and Brock hadn't shown up yet, but the boys and Haley were already having what was now considered a gourmet breakfast of cold cereal. Dee and Haley both gave each other the look that meant "we need to talk." Wordlessly Haley stood up and the two walked back to Dee's room.
"Ya know," James commented as they left. "They almost communicate better when they don't move their lips."
Haley sat down on Dee's bed. After Dee made sure the door was locked, both said simultaneously. "I have got to tell you something!"
"Me first," Dee said happily, once again showing her wedding ring off. "What do you think? Mondo finally did it!"
"That's great," Haley said just as fast. "But I've got something really important to tell you!"
"Oh, and since when has getting married not been important?"
"Since Ash declared war on the frickin' world," that shut Dee up. "Look, you know Misty's a spy working with Ash, right?"
"A slutty spy at that," Dee agreed. "So?"
"I've got a plan on how to finally prove it!" Haley exclaimed. She slapped a hand over her mouth. "Sorry. The walls have ears."
Dee peeked out the door, then, positive that no one was there, locked it behind her. "I'm listening."
Haley explained her plan. "If Misty gets the information she needs-and I know she will- then she'll try to go on a 'spying' mission sometime today. After she leaves I'm going to follow her with this," Haley held up a handheld tape recorder, "and show the world who she really is."
"Damn, you're really obsessed about this, huh?"
"If she gives that info to Ash we're all dead, and Brock won't listen to me... so this is the only way," Haley insisted.
Dee sighed. "I guess so. But be careful, okay? 'Cause if you get yourself killed or something, I'll have to kick your ass in the afterlife."
"Yeah, all right. But if I don't come back, Brock'll know Misty's a spy, so one way or another this'll work out," Haley stood up, jaw set, "I just hope I've planned this out well enough."
"God, stop asking yourself whether it's planned well!" Dee teased. "Just go in there with some Uzis for back-up and if anything goes wrong take a couple with you!"
A sound outside of the room interrupted their conversation. "Oh Brock, I was wondering, do you think I could go on another spying mission today? I wanna see if Ash is on to us."
Dee and Haley walked casually out of the room, joining up with Misty and Brock.
"I guess so Mist, if you really want to-" Brock began.
Haley decided to try reasoning one last time. "Brock, maybe she should stay here. No sense in risking someone's life before the big battle. And what if she gets caught? She might accidentally tell Ash our plans."
"I never get caught!" Misty squealed. "Besides, it's for the good of the group."
"I'm only doing this for your own sake," Haley said, gritting her teeth.
"Don't you think that maybe this has something with your weird suspicions about me being a spy?" Misty wondered innocently. "Maybe you're just being a tad bit paranoid."
It came out before Haley could stop. "I'd rather be paranoid than a back-stabbing whore!"
Dee looked from Haley, to Brock, to Misty. Misty's lip quivered, and she ran out of the room in tears. Brock, an odd shade of red, turned to Haley. Haley just stood there, one hand clapped over her mouth.
Neither said a word.
"Well?" Dee finally asked, tapping a foot impatiently. "Ya gonna chew her out or what?"
"I'm trying," Brock began slowly, "to say what I want to say without yelling or cussing her out."
If it hadn't been such a tense situation, Dee would have laughed. As it was, she merely leaned against the wall, ready for the fireworks.
"I'm sorry I said that," Haley started to tell him. "But it slipped, and-"
"What the hell was that all about?" Brock snapped. Even Dee jumped slightly. "I know you don't like her, but that was just damn rude! What did she do to you?"
"She-"
"Nothing! Not once has Misty been anything but polite to you, and that's how you act!?" despite his efforts, Brock was almost yelling. "Because of your petty jealousy! Dear God, I thought you were more mature than that!"
That was it. Haley was pissed. Brock was an idiot if he hadn't seen the nasty looks, the rude comments; he almost deserved what he got if he was that blind. "I was only telling the truth! And if you weren't such a moron you would've seen how much of a bitch she is to me! Anyone will tell you that! Dee, Jessie, James, Mondo... even your damn Vulpix has more common sense than you do! You know what? Screw this organization! Screw you!"
"Haley, I-"
"Go to hell!"
Haley stormed off and slammed her door forcefully. Dee ran off after her. Right before she knocked on Haley's door, she turned to Brock, smirking. "You're such an ass, you know that? You're gettin' played like a videogame, and you don't have the slightest clue."
Brock watched numbly as Dee was let in to Haley's room, apparently trying to figure out what had just happened.
"So, are you still gonna follow Misty?" Dee asked inside Haley's room.
Haley nodded. "Brock may be chickenshit but I'll do it for you and TR. And even he doesn't deserve that."
Dee whistled. "You're a helluva better person than me. I'd get the Team Rocket members to ditch the minute they got there and let Brock fend for himself."
Outside they heard Misty announce her departure-quite cheerfully, in fact.
"That girl is one tough trooper," Dee said sarcastically. "I could have sworn five minutes ago she was about to blow the waterworks."
Haley darted behind houses and dumpsters, always staying a good twenty feet away from Misty, but making sure she kept her in sight. Suddenly Misty disappeared around a corner. Haley hurried to catch up before she lost the traitor completely. As she too rounded the brick wall, a hand that Haley never would have guessed was that strong slammed over her mouth. A gun poked none-too-gently into her back.
"Move a single muscle," Misty hissed, "and I blow your guts over the sidewalk."
Haley did as she was told; she was too scared to move anyway.
"I'm always one step ahead of everyone," Misty said smugly. "Like all good spies should be. I figured telling Ash your entire plan would make a good prize, but this is so much better, don't you think?"

Part Three
"...'We have Haley. If you ever want to see her (in one piece) again, be prepared to turn yourself over to the Great Ash Ketchum, Dictator of The Ketchum Factor, etc., this evening at 8 sharp in the Front Hall of Ash's Castle. If you believe there to be trickery, bring bodyguards. Other than that, come alone and unarmed. If we detect something amiss, none of you will get out of there alive. I strongly urge you to turn yourself over before our soldiers use her as target practice. And Brock, thanks for all the help. I couldn't have done it without you! Long live Lord Ash! Misty,'" Brock finished reading the ransom note. He stared across the table at his remaining four colleagues. "Who knew this was going to happen? Dee?"
"Yaa, and what if I did?" Dee replied indignantly.
Brock glared at her. "Why didn't you tell me!? I could have stopped her! Of all the stupid-"
"She did it for you you selfish bastard!" Dee snapped. "Because you were so blinded by that traitor-slut that you couldn't see what was going on in your own organization, she had to take everything into her own hands! Go ahead and blame me, go ahead and blame Haley! But it's your own damn sex-crazed fault that my best friend's been taken by that son of a bitch!"
"That's not it at all!" he yelled.
"Then what exactly is it?" Dee shouted right back.
"Don't you get it?!" Brock questioned angrily. "I knew Misty was a traitor! Even before Haley confronted me with her suspicions. You know what kind of information I was feeding her? Shit! Everything was fake! I didn't tell anyone because I didn't want it to slip that I knew who she was."
Dee didn't skip a beat. "But the sex was so good that you decided to keep that up, I guess."
"I kept that going because if I stopped Misty might have gotten suspicious. So I pretended everything was fine. Plus, it was a good time to give her the false information," Brock sat back into his chair, sighing. "But I kinda screwed that one up."
"Kinda," Dee muttered.
Mondo put a hand on her shoulder, pulling her down into her chair. "So what are we going to do? Obviously we can't just leave her to die."
"You'd better have a damn good plan, or I'll make up my own," Dee growled.
"And we all know how that'll turn out," Jessie commented. Both she and James were secretly hoping they would use Dee's plan of attack-shoot first and ask questions later.
Brock rubbed his temples. "It's pretty simple, actually. I only have one real choice."
James gasped. "You mean-"
He nodded. "I'll turn myself in. You'll still have Haley, and a little help from Mondo and Dee for the planning; Jessie and James can do the other work. Leaders fall from power all the time, that doesn't mean the country stops working."
"But they'll brainwash you like the others," Jessie insisted.
"Don't you think I know that?" Brock asked. "But I'd like to see them try."
Dee pointed out everyone's fear, "And what if Ash, Misty and Tracey just kill you both?"
Brock turned to Jessie and James, "That's where you come in. I want you to accompany me, and get Haley out of there as soon as it's over."
"I'm not just going to sit around and wait for someone to come back alive!" that came from Dee. "Here's my plan: we use you as bait, then blow their brains in."
"I don't want to risk anyone like that, and I don't want to kill innocents," Brock told her.
"You couldn't stop Haley. What makes you think you can stop me?"
Brock faced Mondo. "I'm counting on you to keep her here, and out of trouble. It's personal for her, and her emotions could destroy us."
Mondo saluted smartly. "I'd never let Dee kill herself."
Dee flipped Brock off, and accompanied the gesture with a few rude words of advice.
She ran out of the room, slamming the conference door behind her. Mondo stood to follow.
Brock held out a hand. "Let her go. You wouldn't be able to help and she probably just needs to cool down."
"I agree with Dee," Jessie piped up. "This is the dumbest plan I've ever heard of."
"You talk about risk, but this is riskier than Dee's idea," James added. "At least with violence you don't have to think and worry about what you're doing. You just-"
"Do it," Jessie and James said simultaneously.
"They outnumber us by at least twenty to one. And I don't want anyone on our side getting killed. no one," Brock emphasized. "Meeting adjourned. Jessie, James, meet me back here tonight at 7:00. And for God's sake, don't let Dee talk you into anything. She isn't thinking straight right now."
Dee heard the entire conversation through the vent system, which went to every room in the building and was perfect for listening in on people. She smiled dryly. "Yeah, right Brock. I'm thinking better than I've thought in a long time."
Brock, followed by Jessie and James, trotted into the main doors of the castle. Ash, Misty and at least twenty voluntary followers were waiting for them. Tracey was nowhere in sight. Jessie and James noted the side door which led to the civilian's barracks. Listening closely you could hear someone yelling out orders, and the sound of an innocent yelping as they were belted.
"Sounds like the brainwashing sessions are underway," James muttered under his breath.
"Welcome to the humble home of Ash Ketchum," Misty greeted, "I see you've brought bodyguards. That's wise."
Ash clucked his tongue. "My, look at the kind of company you're keeping these days Brock. Thieves and spies. I wonder what could have turned you to this? Well, that all stops now, doesn't it? Soon you'll be back on the good side of the line."
"Where's Haley?" Brock asked.
Ash whistled. Tracey stepped out from behind a golden Pikachu statue, holding Haley around the middle. A gun was pointed to her head.
"A safety precaution," Ash explained simply. "Just in case you try something sneaky."
"No tricks," Brock said honestly. "I only want to see Haley, Jessie and James out of here safely."
Ash ignored the request. "Now, who should go first? You or Haley?"
"Better make it Brock," Tracey suggested. "Frankly, I don't trust him not to try something."
Brock shrugged. "Works for me." He took a step away from Jessie and James. The two held their breath expectantly. Brock assumed they were hoping this would turn out all right.
No one heard a gun shot. No one saw the bullet. There wasn't even a scream. But suddenly Tracey was slumped on the ground, dead.
"Thank you 'Russian Attack 2000'!" It was Dee.
Everyone (but Tracey) looked up. Dee and Mondo slid down from the top of a Pikachu statue and landed on either side of Brock.
"What the hell is going on?" Brock questioned.
Dee gestured for Haley to get over to them. One of Ash's guards tried to take a shot at her, but Mondo took care of him. Both Jessie and James pulled two Magnums from inside their jackets. Dee and Mondo tossed an Uzi each to Haley and Brock. And that's when the action started.
"It was all my idea," Dee explained, firing-and killing-an armed guard. "But the others were pretty eager to back me up."
Haley shot a glance at Brock. "Now do you believe me?"
"Haley, he knew the whole time," Dee told her. "Pretty good actor, eh?"
"I'll explain later," Brock said, slamming a bullet into someone's face. He looked around, realizing that Jessie and James were gone. "Where's Team Rocket?"
"Don't worry about them," Mondo began.
Dee smiled recklessly. "They just went to find their boss." She focused all her attention on the advancing forces. "Die you commie bastards! I kick all your asses!"
~ Jessie and James, meanwhile, were searching the hallways for some sign of where Giovanni might be. Finally, after what seemed like hours, they arrived at a wooden door marked, "Team Rocket."
James tried the door handle. Naturally, it was locked. The two slammed their full weight against the door, but it didn't budge.
"Wait... I've got an idea," James backed up from the door, and bade Jessie to do the same. Quickly he explained his idea to Jessie. Then, turning to the door, they yelled, "Anyone inside, back up and get away from the door!!"
They fired a round of bullets straight into the cedar wood. When they finally stopped shooting, there was a hole big enough for them to fit through one at a time.
Jessie dusted wood chips off her skirt, looking around. James coughed, trying to clear his eyes of the dust.
"It's about time you got here."
Both instinctively jumped. Giovanni's voice was sure to strike fear into any Rocket's heart.
As the dust cleared, Jessie and James were able to see that not only was Giovanni here, but so were Butch and Cassidy.
"I figured we'd be stuck in this hellhole for eternity," Giovanni commented lightly. He glared at the Rockets. "Well, are you just going to stand there or do something?"
"Oh, right boss!" James yelped. He pulled a small pistol out of his pocket and threw it to him. "It's the only thing I could fit with the Magnums."
"Don't we get any artillery?" Cassidy wondered.
"We didn't know you'd be here," Jess informed her. "Plus there aren't many places to carry guns."
"Dammit," Butch muttered. "I wanted to shoot down some of those pricks."
"I take it they couldn't brainwash you," Jessie assumed.
"Like anyone could take out a Rocket," Giovanni said, a hint of pride in his voice. "I feel like an ass for getting dragged into this shit though."
"Why did you anyway?"
"'Cause Ash said I'd be second-in-command," he lied. Noticing everyone's curious looks, he snapped. "If you have to know, Ash is my kid! I shagged his mom rotten and got her pregnant! Happy?"
James grimaced. "Not really..."
"Do I hear gun shots?" Jessie said quickly. "Come on, we don't wanna miss the action."
As they ran down the hall, James whispered to Jessie, "I can't believe our boss is Ash's dad."
Jessie almost laughed. "I can't believe he just used the word shag."
Even though Mondo, Dee, Haley and Brock fought like madmen, they were still outnumbered, plus Ash had called in reinforcements.
Dee gritted her teeth as a bullet tore into her arm. "Remember how I said this was the cool part of the mission?"
"Yeah?" Haley asked, firing at an advancing guard.
"I'm a moron."
"Dammit, where are Jessie and James? We could use a little help!" Brock murmured as he shot another of Ash's men.
"Prepared for trouble?" two female voices asked. At the same time the sound of two magnums firing in unison sounded. Two enemies dropped dead.
"Make it double," two male voices responded. The sound of two more magnums firing, and two other guards hitting the floor.
Dee and Brock, being the tallest of the four, looked out over the crowd to see Jessie, James, Butch, Cassidy, and Giovanni making their way to them.
Once they reached them, Mondo smirked at his fellow teammates. "You always have to make a flashy entrance, don't you?"
"Naturally."
With one magnum between the four rejoined Rockets, and Giovanni with a pistol (which he used with deadly accuracy) the tables hadn't exactly turned, but the odds were a lot better.
Misty turned to her one remaining companion, and only lover. "I think this is when we make our escape. They'll never even notice we're gone."
Ash nodded. "That's probably the wisest thing to do right now. Damn, why'd I believe Brock when he said no tricks?"
"Aw, it's okay," Misty patted his back reassuringly. "Don't worry, you'll still rule the world. We just need more careful planning, and a better sidekick than that idiot Tracey."
"Right," Ash agreed. "Let's move."
He whistled for Pikachu and the three made their getaway. Keeping close to the wall, they were sure no one would spot them. But someone did.
"Hey, Brock!" Haley nodded in the direction of Ash and Misty. "They're trying to escape!"
"He's not getting away that easily," Brock growled. "I'll go after 'em, you guys stay here."
"No," Haley began, "I want Misty for myself. This time... it's personal."
Dee smiled teasingly. "Hey, be careful all right? You two haven't kissed and made out-er, up yet."
Haley rolled her eyes. "Yeah, whatever. Let's move."
The two made their way through the rapidly thinning crowd of enemies, heading in a direct line for Ash and Misty.
James' gun clicked. "Shit. Outta ammo."
Before long Jessie, Cassidy and Butch were all out too.
"I'm still doing good," Mondo reported. "I brought some extra shells with me."
"Me too," Dee added.
Giovanni threw down his pistol as it too clicked off. "Mondo, give me your Uzis."
"But sir-"
"Do it!"
Mondo reluctantly handed over the weapons. Giovanni turned to the group that, though losing, were still fighting more out of fear for what Ash would say if they quit than anything. He fired before anyone could blink. Pivoting expertly, like only a trained fighter could, he shot until the Uzis also stopped working.
Dee and the Team Rocket members looked around. Not a single guard was still standing. Almost all of them were dead, and a few were so badly wounded that they couldn't have fought no matter how hard they tried.
Dee gaped at the boss' shooting skills. "Damn!"

Part Four
Misty stopped suddenly. "Ash... do you hear footsteps?"
Ash risked a look behind him. "Oh shit! It's Brock and Haley!"
"You go that way, I'll go this way," Misty directed, pointing to the two hallways. "Once we lose them we'll meet outside."
The two partners in crime took off down the aforementioned hallways. Before long Haley and Brock had come to the spot where Misty and Ash had made their decisions.
"I think..." Haley began. "Misty when down the right hall."
"Then you find her," Brock agreed, already running to catch up with Ash. "I'll take care of him."
Brock raced after Ash, hoping he'd catch him before he got away. As it was, Ash wasn't in very good shape from all these months of sitting around and letting his cronies do the work; whereas Brock had made sure to keep himself in good physical condition. Before long Ash was out of breath, and at a dead end. He desperately tried the door behind him, but it was locked.
"Nowhere to run now, no one to hide behind," Brock told him.
Ash jumped. Looking around, he tried to find a route of escape. There were none.
Brock swung the Uzi up into firing position. "You've got about two choices. Turn yourself in and go to prison."
"Or?"
"Die."
Quicker than Brock would have thought possible Ash pulled a handheld pistol out of his jacket and fired madly. The shot was wild, but fast. It grazed Brock's kneecap. Without thinking, Brock shot a clean, smooth bullet directly at Ash. He was killed instantly.
"I gave him a chance," Brock murmured. "Misty won't be so lucky."
Haley's feet pounded the ground as she ran around corners hoping to find Misty. She was pissed. Pissed that she'd let herself get caught, pissed that Brock hadn't told her he knew about Misty, pissed that she'd got all her friends in danger, and pissed that a traitor was getting away. Though she'd never been much of a runner, Haley ran faster than she had in a long time. Finally, as she came around another corner in the twisting castle, she found Misty heaving for breath.
"Someone should spend more time working out," Haley mused.
Misty turned sharply. Her chest rose and fell as she pulled in air. Her eyes, wide with fright, took on the look Haley knew as being the "sweet and innocent" look. "You've got it all wrong. Don't... don't shoot."
"Give me one good reason."
"I never meant to hurt anyone. I swear it. Ash brainwashed me like all the rest. Only now I see what I've been doing so wrong. Give me a chance to make it up. Please," Misty pleaded.
"You're full of so much shit it amazes even me," Haley almost laughed. "You really expect me to fall for that?"
Misty pulled out a gun. "Then die!"
Haley shot the gun out of her hand. It clattered against the linoleum floor, too far away for Misty to reach.
"Hehe," Misty giggled nervously. "Can't you take a joke?"
Those would be her last words. Haley shot once, twice, three times; though she only needed one bullet. Misty spun around by the impact, then fell, dead.
"Ding dong, the bitch is dead."
Haley whirled to see who had spoken. Brock leaned against the wall, favoring his right leg.
"Is Ash-?"
Brock nodded. "He wouldn't listen to reason."
"She didn't have anything to reason with," Haley said disgustedly, jerking her head in Misty's direction. "That girl's chickenshit. Probably never told the truth in her life."
"I wouldn't be surprised. She's not like-" Brock stopped short.
"Like who?"
Brock blushed. "Well, like you."
Haley didn't know what to say to this. So she didn't say anything. Wordlessly Haley helped Brock down the hall and back into the front room, where they were greeted by Dee and Mondo.
"We thought maybe something had happened," Mondo told them. "I would've had to hold Dee back if she hadn't gotten shot."
"And you still had a hard time getting me to stay still," Dee retorted, one hand clapped over the still slightly bleeding shoulder.
"Where're the others?" Brock wondered.
"Gone to free everyone, I guess," Mondo answered. "Jessie muttered something about finding Meowth, then they disappeared. He got kidnapped when they took the headquarters by storm, you know."
The sounds of cat yowling and two joyful voices filled the air.
"Looks like Team Rocket's reunited again," Dee said, laughing at her own joke.
It had been a month since the death of "the Great" Ash Ketchum, and things were finally starting to get back to normal. Everyone had been freed from the hellish castle (the place itself had been torn down) and civilians were getting into the swing of life. The Gym Leaders had gone back to doing what they did best-training Pokémon-and Team Rocket was once again on the rampage. All except for four members. Jessie, James, Mondo, and Meowth quit; Mondo because he was getting married, Jessie and James because they felt they were a little too old for the place, and Meowth because he went along with Jessie and James. The Team Rocket trio bought a small apartment and began lives where they didn't have to recite a motto every five minutes.
The population of the RAA's headquarters was rapidly thinning; pretty soon Dee, Mondo and Haley would go to college (Dee had talked Mondo into joining) and Brock would more than likely head home to his family and help get life set up for them.
On the day before Haley was supposed to leave for college Brock called her to his room. She wasn't completely sure what he wanted, but it sounded important and she wanted to say good-bye.
Haley opened the door timidly. Though the two had been friends for a while and even closer now that Misty was gone, Brock had never before invited her into his own room.
"Have a seat," Brock invited, moving over on the bed so she could sit down.
Haley took the invitation. "How's your leg?"
Brock moves his knee experimentally. "Pretty good. Still a little sore though."
"Is there, um, a reason you wanted to see me?" Haley wondered.
Brock put an arm around her. Instead of making her even more tense, it relaxed her. Haley leaned against him, suddenly very comfortable.
"Actually, there is," Brock began slowly, as if trying to pick the right words. "You, Dee and Mondo are leaving tomorrow, right?"
"Yeah. The taxi's going to pick us up in the afternoon."
"When does the semester start?" Brock asked.
"In a couple months. Why?"
Brock moves his arm away from Haley. She wished he'd kept it there-it gave her a feeling of security. "I was wondering... if, maybe, you'd like to come with me until then."
Haley raised an eyebrow. "Where to?"
Brock turned crimson. "Paris. I've always wanted to go there, and with the money we made from selling all those golden Pikachus in Ash's castle I finally can. But Paris is no good by yourself."
"I'd love to. But why me?"
Brock took her hands in his. "Because I love you."
He kissed her twice; softly, then passionately. Haley returned the kisses. At first she was a little nervous, but that soon wore off. Brock ran his hand down her back, fumbling for the bra strap.
Haley pulled away. "Not yet. I want it to be special. In Paris."
"But I love you Haley. It's only natural that we-"
"I love you too Brock, but later. I'm not ready just yet," seeing Brock's look, she added, "besides, you can't get a homerun before you get to third base, now can you?"
Mondo and Dee, who had for the moment stopped making out like wild drunken hicks, heard the whole thing through Dee's perfect-for-spying vent.
Dee smiled. "Its about time."
