Bridging Gaps
Standard disclaimers apply; I own nothing. Actually… I take that back. I should hope I have ownership of myself, and my car. I don't really know if I should say I own the highschool or not. I actualy think the BOE owns the high school, but it's the HS I go to, so. I don't own any music I may mention, or the ppl who wrote the music or sings it or anything else like that. I also have no claim to Kelly Min or her James fan site, I just to love it to death. In fact- every fansite I mention here- IT'S NOT MINE! I just love them all to pieces! Only difference from real life here is I never drove to get lunch. Everything about my car is true, though. Oh, and, I'm kinda paranoid about this, so… Everything I mention doing at the school in this- I never did and never will do. Oh, and Jessie fans- don't hate me for this… She's kinda sorta.. cast to the side in this one, sorry… ^^, and Rocketshippers will want me dead, I'm sure… But please, don't inflict any boddily harm to me, okay? *Puppy-dog eyes* Pwease? Actually, now that I think about it… Meowth is kinda cast aside, too… ^^, Okay, basically, what we're looking at here, is a story who's 2 main people are me and James. As I've read through this a few tmes, it hit me that I've worded some things a little confusing. I AM in the 10th grade, and I'm 16. There we go. Happy? Okay? Are we good? We're good? Okay. Anywho, so arigato, tanoshimu. (Thank you, enjoy) Oh, and be warned… the ending? It leaves… a LOT to be desired, I'm sure… ^^, But go easy on me, I've been working on it for a very long time, I just ran out of ideas.

"IF I HAVE TO WAKE YOU UP ONE-MORE-TIME…" My mom yelled. It was summer vacation, and I had no intentions what so ever of waking up at the early hour (1:30 PM). I had gotten my driver's liscence last year, and she wanted me to go get lunch.
"Woman…do you have ANY idea what TIME it is?" I thought. "It's way too early for me to get up… I only got 13 hours of sleep…" To a teenager, though, 13 hours of sleep isn't nearly enough. However, I was too busy thinking to hear her coming back…With the squirt bottle. Usually, she only used it on the cats if they tore up the furniture. Lately, though, she had taking a liking to using it to wake me up. I mumbled something and slowly got out of bed. After I got dressed, I asked what everybody wanted.
"Doesn't matter, you know what to get from wherever…" My mom said, paying more attention the "Y&R" than me at the time. I got my keys and went out to the Mustang. (I loved that car...Birthday present. Sonic Blue, '03 coupe. I also had a few midifications done on it, though. My favorite? Bazooka Bass tube in the trunk.) What my parents didn't see, was the CD I had cleverly hidden. You see, I wasn't the tallest person in the world, but my capri's were a little too long, so my grandmother hemmed them up for me. Best part about it, there was just enough room in the hem for a CD to fit, hidden, at that. I was also a loyal Team Rocket fan, but they didn't know it. In fact, my parents hated them. They were loyal supporters of the "James is gay" rumor, but I knew better. Since they thought that, I couldn't very well let them know I was brining my "2 B A Master" CD with me to listen to #9 repeatedly (even though Mustang's don't have a repeat button on the radio). Once I was out of the driveway, I put in my CD and turned it up.
(Meanwhile… somewhere in Hoenn…)

It was a little cloudy outside where a girl with interesting red hair, a boy with blueish-purple hair, and a cat were lying in the grass, thinking about a new way to catch Pikachu.
"We can try another hole…" The cat suggested. The other two glared at him.
"I can try and build another giant robot…" The boy suggested. The other two glared at him.
"We can try and sidetrack the big twerp by acting like 2 pitiful girls who lost their Meowth…" The girl suggested. The boy glared at her, but was hit with a giant paper fan for the daring move. The cat snickered, and the boy stepped on him. The cat hissed and they two started to fight with each other. The girl started to slowly walk away, but the cat jumped out of the dust cloud and hooked the girl by her hair, which curled back behind her head. While it made a very good weapon, it was also a disadvantage at times. She was dragged into the fight as well, which was bad for the other two. After the dust cleard, the girl, as expected, won the fight. The other two mumbled something, but then she stepped on them both. She smiled.
"I won, so we go with my idea!" She said. The boy wished he were far, far away at that point, as did the cat. They both should have known she'd win, she always did. Worst part was her victory meant she would get to embarrass the boy to no end, and the cat would be forced to act nice.

(Later…)

"Team Rocket! I should have known it was you!" Ash yelled. "It's bad enough you keep coming back, but you still say that stupid motto, every single time!" May added.
"Tisk tisk… you call out motto stupid, yet somehow 'I should have known it was you' never gets old?" Jessie pointed out. Ash stopped, thinking.
"It's always new to the people saying it, twerp. Even I know that…" James continued.
"I tink we should say it again! Just ta get on deir nerves!" Meowth suggested. Jessie and James liked the idea, so they said it again. Ash and his friends cringed, as they had to sit through it once more.
"Again!" Meowth grinned.

(Meanwhile…in drivethough at McDonald's…)

I had listened to the song a few times by now, and hit the back button to hear it again. It got to one of my favorite parts.
"I'll be the queen!"
I sighed. "If only…" I said quietly, to no one in particular (mostly because there wasn't anyone else in the car.) I had never told much of anyone, but, secretly, I thought James was the hottest anime guy out there. I was mentally elsewhere in thought, and blushing a little. However, I was rudely brought out of my fantisizing when the person behind me in line honked their horn at me.

(Somewhere in Hoenn)

"Again!"
"No more! Please!" May begged.
"As if we'd really listen to you…" James mocked.

(In line at McDonald's)

"Have a nice day! By the way, nice car." The drivethrough worker said and gave me my food. I turned the radio back up and started the song over. My cell phone rang to the tune of Good Charolette (Rich and the Famous) and I quickly tunred the radio down. I picked up to see it was my grandmother, calling to see what I was doing.
"Um… trying not to get hit… I'm driving."
"Oh! Well, I'm sorry, sweetie, I'll let you go, then." She said and hung up. I turned my radio back up. They were getting to my favorite part when my phone rang again. I picked it up and, not realising what I was saying, answered it with "I'll be the queen?". I blushed and said 'hello'. It was my mom. She was telling me that my grandmother was concerned that I was too young to be out driving by myself.
"You're 15! Doesn't she want you to practice driving?" She asked.
"Um, I don't really know, but you're distracting me, so…?"
"Oh, fine, then. Just don't let the food get cold!"
"I won't…"
I hung up and turned the radio back up. It didn't notice how cloudy it was getting outside, but I did hear the thunder boom.

(Meanwhile...)

"Again!" Mewoth said.
Ash and co. were getting tired of hearing the motto over, and over, and over.
"This'll make the 7th time already!" Ash called.
"Yeah!" May agreed.
"So? Later today will probably make the 725th time we've been thundershocked! I say we return the favor by torturing you a few more times!" Jessie said form the treebranch they were stadning on.
"Not a bad idea..." Ash mumbled as Pikachu hopped off his head and glared at Team Rocket, cheeks sparking.

(Just out of the McDonald's parking lot)

"Ooh! One of the best parts!" I said as the song (once again) reached the part with the motto. I turned it up a little louder. Thunder boomed again, almost deafening this time. I accidentally sped up about 30 or 40 miles an hour without meaning to. Just then, the sky flashed white, and a bolt of lighting fell from the clouds. Unfortunately, it fell onto the antenna on the hood. For a second, everything was solid white, but that was only the light. The rubber in the tires stopped me from really getting hurt.

(Hoenn...)

"Yeah? Well, let's say it one more time, den!" Meowth said, almost happy to know he was going to get shocked again. Just as they were about to start the motto for what would be the 8th time; they were cut short by a thundershock. At the exact same time the lightning hit the car antenna. Just then, a white sort of tear appeared behind them. It was shaped like a bolt of actual 3D lightning, so of course, everyone was a little startled by it. But Team Rocket were the only one's it took with it. In a white flash, they were gone, but not sailing off into the distance as usual. Into the back seat of a Sonic Blue '03 Mustang. Only, they didn't know they were missing from the Hoenn setting they were in only moments before, saying the motto.

The CD was nearing its recital of the motto at the same time Team Rocket suddenly appeared in the car. However, the timing was very good. They said every line as the CD said it.
"Heh heh... after about the 10th run, this sound system really starts to kick in... It sounds like they're actually..." I started, then, however, I looked in my mirror to actually see them in the car. I screamed and slammed on the brakes, incidnetally, throwing them forward into the backs of the 2 front seats. I just stared blankly ahead of me, not daring to look behind me. I slowly looked into the rear-view mirror and went pale as I saw the three famous criminals in the backseat of MY car. The car belonging to their biggest fan ever. A smile crossed my face, eventually turning into an ecstatic grin and I broke into silent laughter of amazement.
"Oh man! It's...it's...IT'S YOU!" I cried out. "It's you, it's you, it's you, it's really, really you!" A happier time in my life couldn't have existed now. I finally got the courage to actually turn around and look at them, rubbing their heads from the impact of the brakes slamming on. A single tear of ecstatic fell. I screamed again as they finally opened their eyes again. The, I started back screaming 'it's you, it's you it's you!'.
"Well, of course it's us... who else would it be..." James mumbled. I screamed again.
"IT'S YOU! IT'S YOU IT'S YOU IT'S YOU! JAMES MORGAN IS IN MY CAR!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!" His eyes got very wide then.
"You...know who I am?" He asked.
"KNOW WHO YOU ARE?" I repeated in disbelief. "I LOVE YOU!" His eyes went wide again.
"L-love me?" He asked again. I nodded enthusiastically. "I LOVE you guys! I'm your biggest fan EVER!" I yelled. They looked at each other for a second.
"What do you mean by biggest..." Jessie started.
"Fan..." James continued.
"Eveh?" Meowth finished. Now it was my tunr to go all wide-eyed.
"I LOVE it when you guys finish sentences and stuff like that!!!" I screamed. Then, however, seeing the puzzled looks on their faces, decided to calm down some (with great difficulty, if I may add) and explain to them.
"You guys somehow got into my car. Apparently, when lightning struck my car, Pikachu was shocking you three. Somehow, that apparently opened some kind of hole in the spcae/time continueum, and here you are. By the way, care to hear your theme song?" I asked, nodding towards the CD player.
"Wait a minute... what?" Jessie didn't seem to grasp the concept but after an episode like what they'd just been through, you can't blame her. I explained it again, slower this itme.
"I still don't get it..." James said. I was about to explain it again, blushing slightly at him, when he continued. "How did this... weird looking girl get our song?" I couldn't help but snicker at the way he called me 'the weird looking girl'. But then, they were used to everybody looking as 2 demensional as they were. They had never seen a 3D person before. I let it go for the time.
"Well, everybody, I'm sure you had seatbelts in the 2nd- I mean..." I stopped suddenly, not wanting to confuse them anymore than what they already were, but they knew what I meant, and already had them on.
"Kinda especially important to you 3... I don't drive too entirely often, so... it may be a little bumpy. Oh, but by all means, feel free to look out the windows and stuff. Meowth, you'd better come up here to the front seat, not a lot of room in the back, sorry, but hey... such is the fate of those who ride in fancy sports cars. Now...don't be startled by the radio, or the booming you're about to hear slash feel. It's perfectly normal." I warned, turning the ignition and restarting song number 9. They all got wide-eyed again when it started.
"It's okay... the boss isn't really here... it's just on the CD. But listen- it gets better!" I smiled, turning it up a bit. I looked beside me to see Meowth was standing up in the seat, looking out the window. I started to pull out into the road. A little ways down the road, however, a car beeped its horn at me and drove past angrilly.
"What's dat guy's problem?" Meowth asked. I glanced over at him to see his paw agaisnt the window. I blushed and told him to put his paw down, and quick.
"You only have three fingers, Meowth... in the 3rd de-here, showing someone just your middle finger is a bad thing... so don't be pointing at other cars and stuff. If you have to, though, use one of you other 2 remaining fingers, okay?"
"Okay, I guess..." Meowth agreed. "Dis place is even weirder den at foist glance..." He muttered. After a while, we were coming up on Cheerokee High School.
"And if you look to you're right, you will see the modern day teenage torture chamber. Meowth- feel free to point at the school all you want. It's always okay to point at the school. No, no, with the middle finger, like you did before..." I corrected. He did as I said, and so did the others. "Good, good..." I said evilly. "That place has people more evil than Giovanni himself..." I said.
"No way..." Meowth said, astonished that such evil could exist.
"Yes way... they're called...teachers..." I said as a perfectly timed creepy rumble of thunder and flash of lightning came.
"The teachers are more evil than the boss?" James asked. "I'm doubting that..."
"Yeah. Our teachers were never that bad..." Jessie agreed.
"Say what you will. But when school starts back next week... we shall SEE how evil they truly are... their weapon of choice? Dress-code. Jessie- I hate to say this, and I don't mean to scare you, but... they'll chew you up and spit you out for wearing that..." I explained grimly.
"What? This is standard Team Rocket uniform, thank you very much!" I shook my head slowly.
"Tisk tisk... but if only they knew that..." I said. "By the way, anybody hungry? There's a taco bell a little ways up the road."
"Taco bell?" Meowth questioned.
"Yeah. The Cheesy Gordita Crunch's are really good. But, I'm gonan need maybe 10 more dollars. Anyone willing to contribute?" I asked, looking at them in the mirror. It was all I could do to keep myself from laughing again. They were actually in my car! They-Team Rocket-the greatest anime baddies the world has ever known-IN MY CAR! I managed not to laugh, but I was still grinning like an idiot. Then, however, I remembered I still had a 20 stashed away for emergency, and to me- Team Rocket being in my car, in my presence, and hungry at that, qualified as an emergency. The poor things were hungry! I wasn't about to stand by and let them starve! While I was in drive-thru, my cell phone rang again. I was the only one didn't flinch at it, though.
"Didn't have cells in Hoenn, eh?" I asked, smiling. Then I mumbled, "besides the animation ones..." I picked it up.
"Yeah?"
"Where are you?" My mom asked, seemingly annoyed.
"Sorry. I, uh...picked up some old friends along the way." I said, smirking.
"Who?" She demanded.
"Jackie, Micheal and Hannah."
"Jackie's family is visiting from New York?"
"Yeah."
"Oh, okay. Well, hurry back. Do they want something to eat, too?"
"I'm in line at Taco Bell right now. Oh, gotta go, gotta pay for the food now, bye!"I said, hanging up.
When I got home, you can only imagine the stares my visiter's got.
"Please don't ask... I don't really know how it happened." I explained. "And yes, I lied about Jackie being here. Sorry, but the odds of you beliving this then are about the same as you beliving it now." I said, going to my room. "Come on..." I said to Team Rocket. I was still ecstatic, but I couldn't show it. Everybody thought I hated them. Except of course, Liv and them, now.
"I'm getting online!" I yelled from my room.

(Online...instant messenger convo.)

Ashley0927: L-O.

Ashley0927: ^_^ Kissies are contagious! ^_^ O_o *lots and lots of kisies!* ^_^ ^_^ Can't say I'm used to that... Oh, I can fix that little problem...

We stayed online for a few hours, but then I had to go, which gave me the oppurtunity to show TR around a little. First stop wasn't much of a stop. Just under my bed, really. To my hat box, which held the keys to my metal Lapras box (which held ever wrapper from the Rocket card expansion with them on the front of it) but also the keys to my diaries, in which I was going to let them sign. Then, we went to my grandparent's house, which was across the yard to show them my posters and other things. After that, there wasn't a whole lot more to do, except, of course, watch them raid the pantry, and the wonder that is the anime ability to clear a table full of food in less than 5 seconds. That was fun to watch, too! Then, however, a very interesting little episode, it was time to go to bed.
"Now, there's only 2 beds in the house. Both of them will have people in them, I'm afraid." I said. "However... Meowth-being a cat, you pretty much have run of the house at night. Just watch out for Milo. He's the big, fluffy, orange, grumpy cat. Don't fall asleep on the table, he likes to push things off." I said. (((BTW- Yes, Milo will push things off the table, even the other cats. ^_^ ))) "Or, of course, I'm used to having cats sleeping on me, so the end of the bed is always open, assuming Cleo isn't sleeping there." Meowth then got an evil kitty grin and ran off to do who know's what. That left me to find a place for the humans to sleep for the night. "The couch is open, Jessie, but you might have to move Blackie or Tuffy." I said. She seemed shocked that I had singled her out and practically told her to go to the couch and sleep. The real shocker, though, came next. "If you can stay here a second, James, I can go get some extra cushions from the third bedroom and a blanket and you can stay in here with me!" I was grinning like an idiot again while James blushed again. I smiled some more and giggled. "You're so CUTE when you blush!" I squeeled, making him blush even more. By that time I had latched onto his arm and had little or no intentions of letting it go. I crossed the hallway into the third bedroom to get the extra cushions, but by complete surprise *tee-hee, snicker snicker* found none.
"Aww, I'm sorry... I couldn't find any extra cushions!" I said, adding a hint of pitifulness to my voice. Well, I can't very well take the couch cusions because Jessie's sleeping on the couch... the chair cushions aren't very, uh...cushiony by themselves." I was hinting at something, and we both knew it, we just chose not to say it aloud just yet. After a few moments of silence, though, he blushed again.
"So... what you're saying is... the only other place to sleep is..." He stammered. I blushed and nodded enthusiastically, still latched onto his arm, nuzzling it. A few more seconds of silence before he sighed.
"And that's the only option left?" He asked.
"Well... you could sleep on the floor, I suppose, but it's cold, and I might step on you in the morning by accident. Not to mention the cats don't like strange things sleeping in the floor..." I said, trying to look innocent while being latched onto him still. "Plus, if Tuffy finds you, he'll try and sleep on you."
"What's wrong with the cat sleeping on me?" He asked, not knowing the dangers of it.
"Well, For one, he likes to do that claw thing on people. Then, he weighs, like, 15 pounds. If that's not enough, he drools, too. He gets right up in your face and drools on you!" I said, hoping it would work. I mean, yeah, Tuffy did do all that, but I don't think James was used to having a cat drool on him. "And Tuffy has really bad breath, too." I added. "He won't bother you, though, unless you sleep in the cold, hard floor..." I said.
"Isn't the rug warm, though?"
"Well... kinda, yeah, but you'll need a pillow, too, you know."
"What about that one?" He asked, pointing to the pillow that was sitting long-ways next to the other pillow that was normal.
"Oh, that's Cleo's pillow." I said. It was Cleo's pillow, too. "And if she's not sleeping on it, Fluffy will be."
"Who's Fluffy?" He asked. As if on cue, a little cat that looked half-bald came in and meowed. I picked her up and cuddled her head gently. I held her up for James to see.
"This is Fluffy. She had to have surgery a little while ago, and they offered to cut out the tangles in her fur, but they were just too big to brush out, so they just shaved her." I explained. (((DON'T LAUGH! Fluffy is a beautiful little cat, shaved or not. *nods proudly* Besides, her fur's growing back.))) He gave the little cat an odd look.
"Oh... is...that what happened? ^^," He said. "She is cute, though." He reached out to pet her. She sniffed his hand and snapped at his finger.
"Fluffy! You be nice to James!" I scolded. She gave me a look of disbeleif. I smiled. "Yup, Fluff, this is the one I keep telling you about!" Again with the odd look.
"She knows who I am?"
"I don't think she actually knows, but I ramble on about you to anything that'll sit still long enough. Except my parents... Sorry to say, they kinda, um... well, they hate you, I'm sorry." I said. He looked hurt from that one. I smiled half-heartedly and hugged him.
"Awww... don't worry about it! They're parents! They're not supposed to make sense! That's another thing I like about you... we have so much in common, James! We really, really do! I mean, think about it. We look the same, I can giggle like you can..." I said, blushing and doing just that without meaning to. "See?" I asked. "We're both horribly misunderstood people, we both have terribly untrue rumors that haunt us... well, okay I don't have a terribly untrue rumor that haunts me, but I sympathise with you on that." He smiled at that. Then, I did something daring... Very daring. Well, tried to do something daring. He was mentally elsewhere at the time, but I think I snapped him out of it when I said
"CURSE MY SHORTNESS!" I had tried to kiss him, but what do ya know, I was just too darn short! However, to my complete and total surprise, he took care of it for me. For a second afterwards, I just stood there, not beliving what had just happened. Now it was my turn to be mentally elsewhere. I gradually faded back to reality.
"Hello? H'loooo?"
"Mmmm... five more mintues, I just had the best dream of my life..." I mumbled, almost non-understandably. Then, however, I opened my eyes all the way to see him standing there, only inches from my face, and my eyes widened as an idiotic grin crossed my face yet again.
"Wait for it... wait for it..." I thought. Sure enough, a moment later, he was even closer to me than I had only dreamed of him being. Within seconds- no-milliseconds of that motion, I had struck.
"I hope he's been here long enough to know how to breathe through his nose..." I thought. "If not, he's in trouble..."
( A few minutes later...)
"What was that?" He asked, eyes wide. I only smiled.
"That is what the people here like to call making out." I said, somewhat proud of myself for having such good taste in people (with good taste. BTW- by taste- I don't mean style, I mean taste). "Just let me know if you ever want to do that again. Sadly, I'm just too darn short to reach you myself. " I said. He blushed again, I squeeled again and latched onto him again. What really surprised me, though, was that at the mention of doing that again, his bright green eyes widened again and he smiled. I smiled too.
"That was fun!" He said.
"Okay, now I KNOW I'm dreaming..." I said, not comprehending what he had just said.
"You can't feel thigns in dreams, can you?" He asked.
"I can't..."
"Hmm... only one way to tell if this is all a dream, then..." He said. Within seconds... I woke up. I blinked a few times and looked around. I was facing the wall, tightly hugging my giant stuffed dolphin. I sighed sadly.
"Only a dream..." I mumbled. I nearly screamed, though, when James said
"Not quite. Just fell asleep and dreamed it over again."
I quickly rolled over to see him sitting on the bed next to me, smiling.
"Do you always sleep this late?" He asked. That was when I noticed the sun was already up and looked like it had been for quite some time.
"What time is it?" I asked. "The VCR's 10 minutes fast..."
"10 fast? Well, that would make it 2:10." He said, handing me my glasses off the bedside table.
"Where did you sleep?" I asked, anxious to know if I had slept through what could have been the biggest thrill of my lifetime.
"I'm used to sleeping on park benches, but that pile of pillows was just as good. A lot fluffier, though." He said, referring the small mountain of pillows that always accumulated in front of the entertainment center every night.
"Fluffy didn't bother you, did she?" I asked.
"No, not once. I woke up once and she was curled up agaisnt me, but that's it..."
"Awww, she must like you..." I said putting my glasses on. Just then, I felt something move under the covers. That was the first time I noticed the lump and I petted it through the covers. It got up and moved towards the end of the bed and tumbled off.
"Me-ouch! Ya gotta put a guard rail on dat ting or somethin!" Meowth yelled form the floor.
"I hate it you had to sleep in the floor, though..." I said, turning my attention back to James.
"It's fine. It's better than park benches, that's for sure."
"Still, though. Tonight- you sleep up here in the bed. I'll take the pillows." I said.
"Ashely!" My mom yelled from the kitchen.
"What?" I yelled back.
"Are you still sleeping?" She asked. I felt no need to answer that one. Instead, I laid back down and pulled the covers over my head. Then, as if a completely different person had taken him over, James pulled the covers off and said
"Show us your car?"

After we had eaten lunch (My mom had just set my plate down when Jessie and James said "You're not done eating yet?") we had gone out to the car.
"Okay, guys. This is the second time you've been in my car, so I feel I must inform you all of the rules. No crumby, flakey food that could flake off or crumble off in my car. Don't spill anything. Meowth- no shedding. Jessie- don't spill perfume or make up or anything. Okay? We good?"
"Wait a second." Jessie interrupted. "What about James?"
"What about him?"
"Why don't you worry about him getting anything on your car?"
"Because. He doesn't shed, and he doesn't wear make-up."
"I wouldn't go that far..." Jessie mumbled.
"He doesn't have anything that would do anything to get my car dirty."
"Wilting roses, perhaps?" Jessie suggested.
"He left them in the house so they wouldn't wilt." With that, I cranked the car up and we drove off, I pointed out all the important things and places along the way. I also had the radio turned up.
"You never told us, Elle, how do you know about us?" James asked.
"Oh... that.. Um, it's a long story... Hey! Howsabout I request a song just for you three, eh?" I changed the subject, not wanting to remind myself of how I knew about them, especially not now that I knew how much James liked kissing me. I couldn't let myself remember how I knew about them now... This was one of those dreams I didn't want to wake up from. I called into one of the major radio stations to put in my request.
"Yeah, I got some friends over from another country, and they kinda have a theme song. Can I hear the new Beastie Boys?" I asked. A second later, I hung up and turned the radio up some more. "Alright, guys, listen to this..." I said as the song started.

If you (if you)
Wanna know (wanna know)
The real deal
About the 3,
Well I'll tell ya we're triple trouble, ya'll
We're gonna bring you up to speed

I watched in the mirror as their eyes got wider and wider as the song continued.
"Who was dat?" Meowth asked.
"That, dear friends, were the Beastie Boys. Haven't heard from 'em since the 80's, really, but oh, have they made a come back." I said. Then, I put in a request for another song on another station.
"I got some friends over from Japan, you know? And this is their first time in my car, which has a really sweet bass system in it. Can I hear some Ying Yan Twins?" I hung up again a second later. After some commercials, they played it. When the bass first kicked in, it startled them and they all leaned forward, but I told them it was supposed to do that and they relaxed. I sang a little of what I knew of it, and eventually, they caught on and sang too.
"BOOM! Where's it at? What? BOOM! Where's it at? What?"
Then, I gave my cell phone to James and told him to call into the first station I called.
"Ask them to play 'Dry Your Eyes, Mate'." I said. "It's sad as anything but I love it to death." He did and they played it after some commercials. I turned it up and sang what I knew (Mostly just the chorus). By the end of it, Jessie, James and I were in tears.
"Humans..." Meowth muttered.
"They hardly ever *sniffle* play that beautiful ~hic~ wonderful song..." I said, the last tear falling. I handed the box of tissues back to Jessie then.
"But it's so pitiful!" She sobbed.
"Why wouldn't they play it more?"James asked.
"I don't know, really... it's a shame, though..." I said. We continued riding along for at least an hour and a half so they could get used to the music we had here. I stopped at a Dairy Queen to get some ice cream and left them in the car. (I was sure to get lots and LOTS of napkins) I left the radio on for them and showed them how to change the station. When I came back, though, it looked like James was about to cry.
"What's wrong?" I asked. Then, I heard what was wrong on the radio.
"Linkin Park... that was Numb..." It said. I could have killed myself for leaving it on 99X, knowing how much they love that song.
"It...it... It reminds me..."James started. "B-b-back home..." He seemed to stumble over the words, and I couldn't blame him. "Numb" had always made me think of him, or at least, the stories I had wrote about what it must have been like for him at home. I was about to say something when James started back.
"...I'm tired of being what you want me to be..." He was staring straight in front of him. I almost dropped the hot fudge sundea I was holding. He started back again.
"Every step that I take... is another mistake..." Now his eyes were watering. I don't know why it took me so long to turn the radio off, but it did for whatever reason. I knew it'd be bad if he heard that song, but I didn't know it'd be that bad...
"I'm becoming this...all I want to do...is be more like me... and be less like you..." He continued to no one, quoting the lines that obviously reminded him the most.
"Do you want some ice cream?" I asked, hoping it would get him back to normal. He just kept staring straight ahead. I put the lid on my ice cream and put it in the cup holder. Then, I drove a little ways down the road and turned into the high school parking lot. I don't know what I was thinking, but sure enough, it was unlocked. I led them all inside and to the library. That, however, was locked. Everyone (except for James) looked to Meowth, who picked the lock with his claw. We got in and I took them to the last computer. I turned it on and signed in. Then, I opened Microsoft Word, and got a blue disk out of my purse. I put it in and brought up all of my fanfics I had written about them. However, the one I really wanted them to see was called "Stream of Consiouness". That one was exactly was it said. I started typing, and kept going; rambling from one subject to the next. However, most of the story had to do with James, and I could guess hearing "Numb" had made him feel unloved, having been reminded of being at home. I was hoping my writing would make him see that he was, in fact, loved. By me, if no one else. I opened the document and let him read it. By the second sentence, he had finally blinked again. By the fifth sentence, he was smiling again. By the 10th sentence, he asked for his ice cream, and by the fourteenth sentence, he wanted a hug. (((Awwwwww.....))) Being his biggest and most loyal fan, I wasn't about to let him down. He was on the 20th page ((( O_O ))) and we had all forgotten about the song completely. A new one had come to me now.

I've never ever been to paradise...
I've never ever seen no angel's eyes...
No matter where you are, you are my lucky star...

After he had read my "Stream of Consiousness" paper, I decided to let him know just how loved he was. (((NOT LIKE THAT...XP))) I took him to Anime Turnpike so he could see all the fansites people had put up for him. He seemed to like Kelly Min's site the best. He blushed at virtually every line he read of that one. I agreed with every line of it. However, his smile faded towards the end of it. I had forgotten completely about that site mentioning Celadon. I ran through my mind, trying to remember at least ONE fan site he had that didn't mention anything about Celadon, but I couldn't think of anything. Even "James Rocket Lovers United" mentioned Jessibell... granted, it was written from the P.O.V of a person who loved him, I think the one time she was mentioned would have made things worse. Actually... she mentioned Jessibell twice. (((PS- is the creater of JRLU is reading this- I agree with you whole heartedly, but for the sake of this fic... ^^, Nothing personal, I love your site.))) Before, I thought I knew what love was... but seeing him go through all those fan sites... seeing how thrilled he was to have fans... seeing his beautiful eyes light up with every site he clicked on... I had no idea what love was until that very moment... After that, we took atvantage of the school being empty, and Meowth's capability to pick locks. He got us into virtually every room in the school we wanted to get into. He even managed to rig the coke machines for us! ^_^ However, the most fun was when we went through every room in the school and grafititized the boards. We went through them all, one by one, starting with 100 hall. Once we got to 307 (Coach Holton's room), we discovered another great idea. After we finished grafititizing every board in the whole school (including 900 hall- the trailors), we went back to Coach Holton's room for his rolly chair. (((3 guesses what that means! ^_^))) At first, we just flew down the hallways as fast as we could go, but then I got the idea to have chair races. I borrowed some masking tape from one of the science rooms and set up a starting line. It was maybe 15 feet from the wall, and you had that 15 feet to pick up speed and whoever went the farthest won. After that, we just pushed each other around through the hallways for fun. The REAL fun came, though, when we put Coach's rolly chair agaisnt the wheel chair. After a few hours of fun-on-wheels, I showed them the room on the very end of 300 hall, which I assumed was a teacher's lounge. It had a really nice, coushy couch, lots of room for lazing, a mini fridge, microwave (with popcorn) and 3 coke machines.
"I thought you said high school was torture, love... It seems pretty fun to me!" James had taken to calling me 'love' now, and I had no intentions whatsoever of stopping it. I smiled and put in another movie.
"That, James, is because we're not doing work now..." I said, sitting back down on the extra coushy couch and starting "Clue" (borrowed from Coach Holton of room 307 again. Thankies, Coach!). They liked that one. After a while, though, we had to go back home. Of course, we had every intention of coming back to school the next day for more fun and games, we had to if we wanted to take advantage of the school beign empty again. There was only a few days left until school started back, so we had to take every atvantage possible.
When we got home, there were lots of boxes on the front porch. I went inside to see yet another empty box in the living room floor, Blackie sitting on top of it. It didn't look like there was anybody home at the moment, so we went on to my room. I gasped when I saw it. I had the new computer loft bunk beds and leopard spotted shoe chair I had wanted for so long. Which now meant there were technically 2 beds in my room, so James wouldn't have to sleep in the floor again. Well, not completely on the floor... the second bed slid under the desk. Anyway, we spent a while admiring that, going through all the drawers and whatnot. Which, for the most part, didn't have anything in them. But the top one... the top one had my drawings neatly arranged in a folder. I didn't realise that they were in there until James mentioned it.
"These pictures..." He said, looking at them, eyes wide. I got off my shoe chair to go see what he meant.
"Like them?" I asked. He kept going through the folder, pulling each picture out carefully and putting it back in with just as much care.
"You drew these, love?" He asked. I blushed and nodded.
"They aren't really that good, but yeah, those are my works..." I said. Meowth looked over the top railing of the top bunk at the pictures and fell over the side of the bed.
"You drew dose?" He couldn't believe it, either. I nodded again.
"There's some of you in there, too." When I told him that, his eyes went wide and he snatched the folder away, or, tried to, at least. He was too short to actually get it, but he jumped up at it, wanting to see the pictures of him I had drawn. I blushed, flattered that people were fighting over my art work, which I really didn't think was very good in the first place.
"I'm not sure if there are more of you, Meowth, or James... I know I started out with only pictures of Meowth, but now I'm not sure who I have more of..." I said.
"What about me? Are there pictures of me in there?" Jessie asked.
"Sorry, Jessie... you're kind of... well, let's just say it takes a very skilled, talented person to draw you, and I meet neither of those requirements... However, I have one of your hair..." I said. She gave me the glare of death. "I was trying to draw all 3 of you and Wobbuffet, but... it didn't really work out too well, so... I have Wobbuffet, Meowth, the tree branch, and your hair, and that's it, sorry..." I appologised and hoped she still didn't have the "make dangerous things appear out of thin air" ability. Lucky for me, she didn't...
"How did you draw all these? I mean, did you have something to go by, or what?" James asked, flipping through the pages again.
"Well, that's the only reason they're so accurate, really... If you want, you can see some of my, uh... other... works... the less skilled ones..." I offered, blushing. I went to my closet and brought out another folder with my other, ammeture pictures, which I personally, to this day still think are horrible. However, it was bad enough they were interested in my ammeture works, but I REALLY started to blush when James looked at them.
"Awwwwwwww.... These are cute! What do you mean un-skilled, ammeture works? These are adorable!" I loved him to pieces, but it was times like that one that made me understand why Jessie used the paper fan on him. And at that moment, I wish I had one. However, the next best thing I had a was Bubbles- my giant stuffed dolphin, so I whacked him over the head with that, even though the worst it did was mess up his hair. He understood that if I had had a giant paper fan, I would have used that instead. However, while my moment of sheer embarassment and happiness was fun while it lasted, I remebered why I showed them my ammeture works to begin with... They wanted to know how I got the models to draw the good ones by. I hoped the thought had become lost on them, because I knew if I explained it to them that they would want to go back to the 2D world. I know that probably sounded really selfish of me to want to keep them here, in the 3D world, but for the past 8 years of my life, I had been living in a dream... a false reality which consisted of my sleeping dreams and my daydreams. A reality where James and I were absolutely, helplessly madly in love, but in true reality, I only had half the dream, because up until 2 days ago, I could only dream about what was happening. I could only dream about what had happened the day before, when we shared that kiss. I could only dream about that before, and I didn't want things to have to go back to that. I finally had my dreams be a reality for 2 days, and I wasn't ready to give that up. I was curious; how long could this last? What would happen if every detail of my dreams come true, down to the very last mark?
"'Kyoto's Bunny'... Awww, this one looks cute..." James said, having found one of my chibi head comics.
What if the second half of my dreams came true, and he eventually grew to love me the way I love him? What if...DID HE JUST SAY "KYOTO'S BUNNY"?! I snapped out of my thinking to blush deep, deep red, and I would have snatched my comic away, but not only did he seem very interested in it, but I'm sure he was only a few panels from the end anyway. Sure enough, as I dared to glance back at him, his beautiful eyes were wide again, and he was blushing.
"Let me see it." Jessie said and took the paper from James, effortlessly, at that. I blushed and snatched it away from her.
"Um... uh... You.. uh..." I stammered.
"It's more of an... us, thing... you know... just for me and her to know... You understand..." James helped me out with that one. He was still blushing, not that I could blame him, considering what "Kyoto's Bunny" was about... I just hoped he didn't find the others I had hidden around my room... Jessie left the room then, to raid the pantry, I think.
"So... um... the chibi with the purple hair... was that one...?" I knew what he meant, and I nodded, still blushing. "And... the other one... the first blonde one... that was you?" I nodded again. "Oh, okay. And, um... who was the other blonde one? Who I gave the bunny to?" I blushed an even deeper red than I already was.
"That one was... Kyoto..." I squeeked.
"Um...why did I give him the pink bunny?"
"Because in my comics, you love Kyoto..."
"Are we... um... related...?"
"He's, um... Kyoto is... ... ... Kyoto is your son..." I stammered. From the corner of my eye, I could see him blush again.
"And... he had blonde hair too.... Like... um.... You..." I nodded again.
"Yes..." I mumbled, still blushing my head off.
"So..... does that mean that... does that mean that you're Kyoto's..." He trailed, off, but I knew what he meant anyway, and I nodded.
"So... I'm his..." He started again. I blushed worse than I had the entire time they were here, and nodded slowly. For a second, nobody said anything. James was still blushing and kind of staring at the wall. After a second, though, he lightly brushed Fluffy out of my shoe chair and sat down.
"That's what I thought..." He said. Just then, Jessie came back from the kitchen.
"You don't have anything to eat... ... ...What's up with you two, eh?" She asked. We just sat there and blushed, not making eye contact with anyone, knowing it would only make us blush that much more. Fluffy came over to me and I picked her up and started petting her. We weren't looking at Jessie, so we didn't see her pick up the comic from where it had been sitting, on the little air-purifier I had on my table.
"Awwwwww.... How cute... a little comic strip about a fluffy pink bunny..." She said. "And... What's this?" She gasped. We looked at her, blushing again. I snatched it away from her again.
"It'snothingyoudidn'tseeanything-thatwasn'tabouttheadorablesonIwishtohavewithJamesoneofthesedays!" I said very quickly. I didn't realise I had said the last part of the sentence and was thinking maybe I only thought it to myself. However, if anyone had heard it, it would have been James, who was blushing even worse now, so I must have said it outloud. Jessie just stared at us for a second.
"...Whatever..." She said. I gave a sigh of releif and leaned back in my chair.
"By the way...that's just...SICK!"Jessie felt it was important to come back in just to say that, obviously. I screamed, which made her leave, then I closed the door back.
"She... she didn't mean that..." James said quietly.
"What?" I wasn't sure I heard him correctly.
"She didn't mean that... She gets kinda... you know... jealous of people... if they get to close to me... she's kinda protective..." I smiled, happy to know. But wait... did that mean...? I could only dream if that meant what I think it did. Did that mean...he liked me, too? I could feel myself blush as I thought about it. Here were the beginnings of the second half of my dreams. I loved him, and now, I was fairly sure he was falling for me in return. Soon, though, it was time for bed. I cleared out the boxes in the space under the desk where the second bed went, then went and commandeered the couch cushions for James again.
"I told you. I'm not going to let you sleep on the cold, hard floor." I told him. He insisted on otherwise, but let it go.
"Well... Can't say I'm used to this... Usually, people are telling me to sleep on the floor..." he thought. While this was true, Iwas determined that as long as they were in the 3rd demension, I was going to make them as confortable as possible. Afterall, you stay in places where you're welcome.

When I woke up the next morning, I woke up to yelling and whimpering. I yawned and looked around, but it was all a blur without my glasses. I leaned over the top railing into the top drawer to get my glasses. I put them on to see my mom in the corner, standing over James with a flyswatter, waving it threateningly. My eyes went wide.
"Anybody want to explain this to me?" I asked, sitting up and banging my head on the ceiling (I only had maybe 2 and a half feet of room to sit up on the top bunk). My mom tunred around and James looked around her pitifully.
"I came in here to see if you were still sleep, and this... FREAK was watching you!" My mom shouted, pointing the flyswatter at James. I looked around her to James, who was being pitiful, but he was used to the feeling of giant paper fans, not the sting of plastic flyswatters. He blushed. I smiled at him, but then I rememebr that my mom was there, too, so I tried to hide my smile.
"It's fine... He was probably just bored and wanted to see if I was awake, or something." I said. She seemed to accept that excuse and left.
"Watching me, eh?" I asked, smiling again. James blushed again. Okay, so he likes to watch me sleep. That's sweet... But it'll have to be avoided in the future, to spare both our lives. Pretty soon, though, it was time to start school back. The night before, I had to explain that we would have to get up early to get ready.
"Any questions?" I asked. Meowth raised a paw.
"Yeah, eh... what do I do?" he asked.
"Well... um... You have to stay at home, Meowth... they don't allow pets at school... even though the Ashley from New York did bring her snake in that one time last year... but I think that was for a project... But anywho, you have to stay at home with the other cats." I explained. He grinned, pointing and laughing silently at Jessie and James, who would have to get up early and go to school with me. As usual, that night, I cleared off the bed under the desk and moved the cushions from the chairs to the couch.

As the morning of the first day of school normally is, I had no intentions whatsoever of getting up. My mom just about had to drag me out of bed, but she couldn't, so she commenced to poke me with one of those extendable light bulb changer stick things. (((nice use of adjectives, eh?))) It looked like James and Mewoth were still asleep (Meowth was on my shoe chair), and I let them sleep for the time. I got dressed and went to get them so they wouldn't miss breakfast.
"What's dis?" Meowth asked, looking at the strips of bacon, which looked oddly identical to each other.
"Facon." I explained. They all looked at me like I was crazy. "Fake bacon... tofu bacon, basically... The box calls it Veggie bacon, but facon sounds so much better, yes?" That seemed to be enough for them, because the 4 of us cleared half the box. After breakfast, and after everybody had gotten dressed and groomed and stuff, we were ready for the first day of my sophomore year at Cherokee High School. (((Can't you tell how terribly excited I am? |=\))) We got to the school, which is when problems started. As soon as we walked in the door, people started staring, and all the boys were whistling at Jessie like idiots (mostly cause the boys at CHS ARE idiots...) She was about to snap, but she was doing good as far as not exploding on them... at the time... However, that wasn't the only problem. Cheerleaders kept walking past, flirting with James, which kinda got to me, obviously. He didn't know they were flirting, though. Once we got to homeroom, Ansley came to sit in front of me. She blushed when she saw James.
"Who's the hottie?" She whispered, not wanting him to hear her.
"New student." I said. "He's from Japan, but he has really good English." I said. I wasn't really lying, he WAS Japanese...technically... "Funny, though... he learned to speak English with a British accent..." I said. Ansley snickered, blushing. Meanwhile, at the other end of the room, no one could see Jessie for the swarm of boys around her desk. She seemed to be enjoying the attention. She tried to act natural, checking her hair with a compact mirror. When she dropped it "accidentally" to see what would happen, 3 boys rushed to pick it up for her. Then she pretended to drop her lipstick. It rolled across the room to where I was sitting. She got up, and the boys let her through, all the time staring after her. They all cheered like crazy when she bent over to pick it up. She got that the whole day, and James was getting just as much attention from the cheerleaders and every other girl in the school. Even the female teachers liked him! XP However, whenever it looked like someone was getting too close, I'd make it a point that he was taken. They didn't get schedules, so the teachers let them follow me around. First period was Math in Coach Trout's room, 106, which wasn't so bad, because our homeroom was 117, plus my friend Anne from last year has that class too. Coach Trout was an okay teacher, but he seemed to get no bigger thrill than the jokes on the math worksheets form 30 years ago. The only problem with first period being 106 was that second period was 607, which meant we would have to go to the other end of the school and past the patio and down the little hallway to Mr. Thompson's class. Once we got there, the only problem was I had to convince Jessie and James not to laugh, no matter how funny it was that Mr. Thompson had a lisp and couldn't say "sp", or 'constitution' without a little snort. However, they eventually stopped, I can only assume that was due to the difficult training they had to go through... the same training mentioned in the first Haunter episode fomr the Kanto season (the Sabrina gym match). After that, was Mrs. Johnson for 10th grade literature in 311. The first thing we noticed when we got there was that the very second we crossed the threshhold into the room, was that it felt like... a million below zero...But it was may 50 or 60 logically. The first thing the teacher passed out to us left James with yet another look of pure terror. I looked at the stapled papers to see that of 124 grammar rules, the rules on the first 4 pages ended with the word "properly". My eye twitched. After that purly terrifying experience was 4th period lunch. We went to the lunchroom to look for anybody I might know. At first, I only saw Rose, but after a few minutes, I got hungry, but didn't DARE try the line, so I went to the snack machines for a Milky Way. As I got my dollar out, Monica came up to me. Moni was in my math class last year. I took her back to the table I was sitting at, but before we even got there, she gasped and stopped in her tracks.
"Is that... that's..." She stammered. I smiled and nodded.
"Sure is." I said. She ran out ahead of me to get the clsoest seat to James as was humanly possible without sitting on him.
"Oh, um... Hi?" He said, not sure what to do with the attention.
"Moni! Bad! Bad girl! Off! Get off!" I said. She reluctantly moved over to let me sit down.
"Guys, Moni. Moni, guys." I said.
"Where's Meowth?" She asked.
"At home." I said. Then we went to the library again. I signed in and gave the librarian the whole Japanese excuse I gave Ansley. She bought it, as did Ansley, so we went to aimlessly wander around the book cases, picking up random books that looked vaguely interesting. Well, I did... Moni was too busy staring at James. I gave her my trademarked glare of death, and she stopped.
"Alright, don't go all psycho on me..." She said picking up an old book of letters by famous people of the 15, 16, and 1700's. They weren't terribly interesting, but Moni suddenly changed her mind about the interest level (or lack thereof) of the old book when James found the section for love letters never sent.
"I never knew you were into that stuff..." She said, ever so slightly taking a step closer to him. I did the same.
"Well, what made you think he wouldn't be? I mean, as if the roses didn't give away his sweet side, Moni, really... I would have expected more of you!" I joked. In all honesty, though, I was a little surprised by it, too. Not terribly surprised, but a little amazement.
"Oh, yeah, like you knew it either!" She said.
"I did!" I said, which wasn't really a lie...
"How long have they been here, anyways?" She asked.
"A few weeks. Long enough for me to know just how sweet he is, I can tell you that much!" I said. We went on and on for the rest of the lunch period, when the clock said it was 12:05, we were going to leave so Moni could buy her snacks, but it felt like we had left something. James was still looking at the same book, somehow fascinated by it. I checked it our for him and we left to get Moni's snacks again. After lunch, we had Computers in 202. That was a very boring class... the work was easy as anything, but it was just easy enough to be terribly boring. The kid beside me, though, Adam Higgins, was funny. I had that class with Rose, too. The teacher lets us do whatever that day, but nothing online, since she couldn't watch every single one of us at once. I opened paint and wrote "I'm so BORED!" in Japanese, then put a series of text boxes throughout the screen and wrote "bored" in them all.
"Are you bored, Ashley?" Rose asked. Then, Adam saw my Japanese.
"Dude! You know how to speak algebra?" He asked, being funny again. (((no sarcasm there, either)))
"Japanese, actually... it says 'I'm so BORED!'" I explained.
"Japanese, algebra, I can't tell a difference..." He said. After computers, we had biology, which was deathly boring. The teacher, Mr. Bowen just rambled on for what felt like hours, but was just under one hour. I wasn't paying attention and scribbled on my desk. After a while, though, I decided to get creative and expose the school to my unique talents, and nobody would know what it said, either, so I commenced to write "Erre suki Koji" ("Elle Loves Koji". The Japanese don't have the letter L, and they substitue it with R's.) in Japanese, and put each one in a little heart. However, James was sitting next to me, and happened to glance over to see what I was doing, and blushed. I blushed, too. Does he know what that says? I thought to myself. He DID originate in Japan, so he could know what it... I didn't finish that thought. I was blushing too much to think straight at the moment. I put my pencil down and stared at the board, still blushing. I didn't realise Mr. Bowen was done boring us all to death, and I yelped when Christina came up behind me and tapped the back of my head to tell me that the top of my head was turning red. (It does that if I blush too bad or start laughing too hard) Then, she saw James and sat behind him, blushing.
"Hiya, hott stuff..." She said, both of them were blushing.
"Down, Christina... he's with me..." I said proudly. She looked at me in amazement.
"Good job..." She said. "Were there any more where this one came from?" She joked.
"Well, there is this other one, but..." I couldn't resist the oppurtunity. "I don't think you want him... his voice is murder..." I laughed.
"Can't be that bad..." She said. I nodded slowly.
"He sounds like a frog, Christina... you don't want that one... trust me..." I said. After biology was the last class, Art in 102. When we got in there, I had to convince them to stop laughing again. The teacher, Mrs. Stone, looked about 80 or so.
"Mrs. Stoneage, maybe..." Jessie mumbled. Art was okay, but still a little boring. Finally, it was time to go home. The next day, problems started.
As soon as we walked in the door, teachers were watching Jessie like hawks.
"Are they going to attack me, or what?" She asked.
"I told you... dress code... you're free game, sorry..." I said. "You could always just go hide in the bathroom and wait for school to let out, but it could be risky..." I said. "But you have to worry about people coming in and wondering why you're just in there to be in there... I'd suggest the handicapped stall, but those are kinda big, so if a handicapped person comes in, they probably wouldn't see you..." I said. "You could always stay in there and pretend to be sick whenever someone comes in, but... I dunno how well that would work, so... your choice." She shurgged and walked off somewhere else. We never saw her again except at lunch in the library. Moni screamed and came running when she saw that James was still with me. As usual, I had to pry her off him so people wouldn't stare (as if other girls in the hallways weren't staring enoguh as it was). Also as usual, we went to the library again to aimlessly wander the shelves. (Whoever gets there first waits for the other by the Coke machine) I kept laughing to myself quietly, so no one else would notice. I knew poor Moni hated books written about England and Great Britain, because there were so many of them, but she pretended to take particular interest in them because of James. Whether or not he knew it, I never found out, but Moni was putting up a decent act, so she could have fooled him. After lunch was over, we went back to 202 for computers.
"Can you bring up some more of those fan sites?" James asked.
"Can't, sorry... They've got the Internet rigged now that school's back in." I said, going to google.com and typing in "Team Rocket Palace", which I always used to find every website I wanted. The computer buzzed for a few seconds, then brought up a gray box that said "Access denied. Category: Games". I tried to back out of the screen many times, but it never went away, so I had to Ctrl, Alt Del to get out of Internet Explorer before the teacher saw what we were trying to do. As usual, science was boring. I forgot about my little scribbles on the desk until I saw them again, and put my purse over them so nobody else could see them, even though I think James and I were the only ones who could actually read it, that's just the point. I was supposed to be the only one who could read it. After the most boring class ever, 7th period finally decided to show up. We were starting our tesselations that day. First, we had to pick if we wanted to transfer or rotate the shapes on our squares or triangles. I picked a triangle and cut out the sillhuettes of the letters R, D and F. (standing for Rocketto Dan Yo Enei Ni", which translated into english meant "May Team Rocket be Forever", but I didn't have enough room for RDYEN, so I just used RDF for Rocketto Dan Forever). I was the only one who figured that one out. It made for a very interesting shape, though. Finally, that class was over with, and we could finally go home. (((FINALLY!!!)))

Once we got home, we were just as bored, though. (What were the odds?) So I decided to get on the computer and see if there were any Word documents I have have neglected over a while. I found a few regarding my early ideas for a Team Rocket movie, and one of them started out pretty good, actually. But after the end of the first scene, it kinda went downhill. (((^^,))) I couldn't find anything, so I decided to go watch TV in the living room with Meowth. I showed him how to open the guide and see what was showing at all times of day for 6 days in advance, which he liked. However, it was 4:05, and he happened to go past channel 12 on the guide. His eyes widened as he quickly flipped to it to see himself on the TV screen. I didn't know what to do, He had already seen himself on TV, so I couldn't just snatch up the remote and act like nothing had happened. However, if I let him continue to watch it, he would tell the others about it, and the previous problem encountered from my drawings reoccured. If they found out that they were only cartoons, and that they weren't supposed to be here in the first place... Once again, I couldn't let them find out. Just as Meowth was asking about it, thoguh, something very unusual happened. I woke up. I stayed still as stone in my bed, gasping and looking around in a panic for some reason. I slowly sat up and looked over the side of the top bunk, and thankfully, James was still there, so I knew that none of them had seen themselves on the TV, so they didn't know about not supposed to be here. But, weird as this is going to sound, even without my glasses, and in the dark, and from at least 6 feet up, I could tell he looked worried about something, even though he was asleep. That worried me, because usually, when people are asleep, you can't really tell if they're upset about anything, but I could tell this time... Now that I was worried, it was a while before I finally went back to sleep. I finally managed it, though. When I woke up the next morning, I was facing the wall, so I didn't know I was being watched. When I rolled over to get my glasses out of the top drawer, though, I knew it.
"Am I that entertaining?" I asked, putting my glasses on. James blushed. (((Why is he so darn blushy?!)))
"Just pretty..." He mumbled, but I hardly heard it.
"What?" I asked.
"I didn't say anything..." He said. That's when I noticed how bright it was outside, and panicked, wondering how late for school we were when I realsied it was Saturday.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"11:30." He said. "Do you always sleep this late on Saturdays? ^^,"
"Not usually..." There was silence for a few seconds. Then, I got an idea.
"Wanna go get the metal detecter and dig up the yard?"
"Sure." So after breakfast, we went out and got the metal detector and set off to ruin the yard. I decided to let Jo-jo off his chain, too. Jo-jo was my less than brilliant dog. (((He thinks he's a cat, people.))) He came running out of the fence like a rocket (((^_^ Had to, sry...))) and went right to the monkey grass, which he marked as his before coming over to smell everyone. He seemed to like James, but left him alone. After a little wandering, the metal detector finally started going off like crazy. I went to the garden shed to get a little pike (I think that's what it's called... those little tiny shovels) and went back to where I left the detector and started digging. After a while of digging, and a little rechecking, I finally found what it was: half a chain. After a while, I got tired of digging, so I let James do the rest. We had found something else in the back yard, and it was setting the detector off like crazy (again). The metal detector was lying on the ground, round circle thing pointing towards the road. I walked in front of it, and it went off again, but not as much. I smiled.
"They said metal detectors wouldn't pick it up..." I said to myself.
"What?"
"Oh... um... last year, I broke my ankle, but I rotated a bone and had to have surgery on it. They had to put in a screw, a wire, and two pins." I explained.
"So, that's why you have that limp, right?" James asked.
"You mean I still have that limp?" I asked. "I can't tell, is it bad?" I asked.
"Not really..." (((NOTE: this is all the dead truth! The trip, the rotation, the hardware... I still have it all, too! Thing about the metal detector, too))) I could tell there was something he still wanted to know, but I didn't know what.
"What's up?" I asked.
"Well... um... do you... is the..." Then I knew what he meant.
"The scar? Yeah, it's still there... doesn't hurt though... Unless I bumb it into something, then it hurts, but never for long." I explained. "If you look really close on the sides of the main scar, you can actually see little tiny punctures from the staples. You aren't weak to that kind of stuff, are you?" I asked. If he was, I would find something else to talk about. If not, I'd probably still find something else to talk about.
"Oh, no. I was just curious." He said and continued digging for what the detector had picked up under ground. Turned out it was only a rock that was shot full of iron ore, as was most of the day's treasure. Except my ankle, of course. After a few hours of defacing the yard over a few rocks, we went back inside to watch a movie.
"It's called 'Mystery Science Theater 3000'. Very good movie." I explained, putting the movie in. I was probably one of the few people in the world who actually enjoys MST3K, but it didn't matter . As long as they were in my care, I would expose them only to the best this demension had to offer, which meant the art of one guy, a gumball machine, and...um... Crow riffing old movies. There were 3 movies on the particular taped video (which my mom bought off E-bay) "Father Frost" (A Russian fairy tale), "Horror at Party Beach" ( a 50's mutant monster flic) and "The Screaming Skull" (my favorite. Also a 50's flic). They seemed to really like "The Screaming Skull", but, as usual, my mom's favorite was "Father Frost". Amazingly, it seems Mystery Science Theater 3000 is the only way to get her in the same room as Jessie and James. However, after a while, I got offended at the way she was trying her hardest to blocking out their existance, so I took them back to my room to find something to do. I wasn't usually that easilly ofended, and I really don't know why that had me so upset. I knew she hated them, so why did I seem so surprised to see it? Whatever the reason, it got to me. Sadly there wasn't a lot much else to do in my room. Except talk, but... ever since I woke up after that dream, and saw how worried James looked, even if he WAS sleeping... I just didn't think talking was the best, because I had become paranoid that they would ask something I couldn't answer...however, that left us with the problem that now we had nothing to do. Then, I remembered something that would be fun to do. For my birthday, I had gotten both Leaf Green AND Fire Red, so I had 2 wireless adapters that would connect from 30 feet away. I got those out and battled everybody at least 3 times, and won all of them. I even beat them with their own poke'mon too! Well... with an Ekans and Koffing at least, which was close enough. It wasn't until after I had beat them at their own game (literally) that I realsied the dangers of my descision. If they got curious enough, they could ask me how this demension had gotten ahold of the knowledge of poke'mon, since there obviously wasn't an abundancy running about outside. I quickly realised my mistake and hoped they wouldn't ask. However, my fears were realsied when they challenged me to a REAL battle...
"Wait! You can't!" I quickly stopped them.
"Why not? Not afraid to lose, are you?" Jessie asked.
"No, of course not! It's just that..." I sighed. "There's something I have to tell you..." I said, saddened by the fact my act hadn't held up as long as I had hoped it would.
"You know, she's right..." James said. I looked up. Had he known the whole time?
"It's obvious isn't it?" He asked. I held my breath.
"There's not enough room in here for a battle! Let's go outside." He suggested. I let the breath go, but only because this was torture for me. I could just see it... We would get out there, and they wouldn't have their poke'mon because they don't exist in this demension, and they'd be sad, and maybe blame me for not telling them earlier. I slowly came outside to find right the opposite to be true. Bear (my dog) was going crazy in her fence, barking like there was no tommorow. For a slipt second, I couldn't figure out why, then I saw it... In the yard... in complete 3D depth... scales glistening in the sunlight, was an enormous pruple, dark blue, and gold snake. Seviper.

"She looks different..." Jessie said vaugely, walking around Seviper trying to figure out why. I slowly reached out to touch it, but it snapped at me.
"Seviper!" Jessie scolded. The giant snake looked at the ground, ashamed of itself. Then, she looked at me with her large red eyes and flicked her tongue out, smelling me. She seemed to accept me and let me pet her. She even felt like a real snake. Everything was exactly like it was on the game and on the show... the size, the color, even the patterns were the same. But they had an added mathematical element. Depth. I found it strange though, that Seviper should be 3D, but not Jessie and James. They were still the same 2D as before. Maybe because Seviper and Cacnea were still in the poke'balls when they were sent to the 3rd demension? But on the other side of the coin, that would make it reasonable that Jessie and James would have been 3D, not their poke'mon. But for whatever reason, Seviper and Cacnea were 3D. Well, I assumed Cacnea was 3D. Then, as if on cue...
"Let's see if Cacnea's any different..." Jessie suggested. I turned around for a second, then I heard her scream. I quickly turned back around to see that she was no longer the 2D anime charater that had come here, but an actual 3D person. She was looking at her hands and seemed terrified by them.
"What happened?!" She demanded.
"I don't know..." I said. I was thinking about what could have happened when something small and sharp latched onto my leg. I shouted and looked down to see a little cactus cuddling me. My eyes went wide as I temporarilly forgot the pain of it's spikes cuddling me. Cacnea was 3D as well. If she wasn't 3D, I don't suppose her thorns would have hurt so bad.
"Cacnea..." James said, going to pick the little desert plant up. When he did, though, he almost dropped her again. The very moment he had picked her up, he started to look gradually more 3D by the second. Then, I figured it out. If they touched they're poke'mon, which were 3D, they would become 3D, too.
"Did you touch Seviper?" I asked Jessie. She nodded.
"She feels funny..." I smiled.
"You kidding? I love the way snakes feel. I want one..." I said. Then an idea came to me.
"Send out Wobbuffet." I said, curious. She didn't really need to, because as soon as I said his name, he came out to see who was calling for him. I reached out to pet him, and he was just as smooth as he looked. I gently flicked him, and the flick was returned to me with the force of a weak slap by counter attack. Then, another idea came to me. Seviper, Cacnea and Wobbuffet could use their attacks here. They seemed to get the same idea right as I did, because they started ordering them to attack random things. However, I was as excited about it as they were, I had to stop them before someone heard. Once again, I loaded everyone into my car, as we headed for the BJ's that ws close to Khol's. BJ's wasn't really of any interest, but there was an empty, abandonned K-Mart that was. Once again, Meowth picked the lock and let us in so we could really battle. We stayed there for a few hours, seeing how each attack looked in 3D. However, we had to go back home as soon as we realised that we didn't have any potions here, and they would have to heal the old fashioned way by resting for the night. We went home then to find other things to do. Once we got back home, it occurred to me that though they had questioned why they were now 3D, but weren't when they came here, they obviously didn't care enough to be bothered by the fact I hadn't answered them. I really have to stop thinking these things with such ill timing.
"Why do we look different now than when we first got here?" James asked. Oh, great. Jessie couldn't have asked, it just HAD to be James to ask me that, didn't it? I hesitated, but I knew he would be confused and upset if he didn't know, and that was the last thing I wanted.
"Because we're from different demensions..." I said. "That's why you didn't see any other poke'mon here." I explained, sad that they now knew, and would probably want to go back home to their own demension. "The only way people here know about poke'mon is because of the videogames, trading cards, and TV show and movies." I said. "I was able to draw those pictures by watching the 4th movie on my PS2 and pausing the scene I wanted to draw." The rest of the car ride home was silent, except for the occasional sniffle from me. We got home and I let them see all the movies.
"How did the people here find out about all of this?" James asked.
"Nobody here except me, Moni, and Liv really thought you existed... so they just made the whole thing up. Everybody thinks you're all just made up. Me, Moni, and Liv are the only ones who really truly belived that you existed before this point." I said, eyes watering. Now they knew where they're really from, why they looked so different, and felt so far from home. I wanted to cry, but I held back. I felt something gently brush the back of my head. I reached back and found a rose in my pony tail.
"Don't worry, love... we won't leave unless we absolutely have to. It's a lot better here... More fun... Better music, adoring fans, fancy cars, no Pikachus..." I had to smile. Here I had been worried over nothing. They loved it here... I should have known better than to think they would want to go home. There were so many things the 3rd demension had that the second didn't. Like no Pikachus... Apparently, Seviper, Cacnea, Wobbuffet and Meowth were the only poke'mon in true existance here. I got online then, after another idea. I decided to e-mail Hannah and tell her of my new discoveries. When she e-mailed me back, of course she didn't belive me, so I decided to go and take a picutre with my camera that printed pictures as stickers. I scanned the picture and made it bigger. Than I e-mailed her that. She didn't e-mail me back that time. I saw her on Monday at school. She took one look at James and nudged me. Hard. I blushed and pushed her. She laughed.
"School dance coming up, Ashley. You going with anyone yet?" She asked, nudging me again.
"Shut up." I said, trying not to let my annoyance show. Of course, she caught it. She had a rather annoying talent for sensing what you didn't want her to know. Mostly annoyance though. She gasped.
"Are you... blushing?" She asked. I wasn't before, but the way she asked people that MADE them blush, weather they had been before or not, because they thought they were blushing, just not enough for them to know it. I hated it when she did that, but after a while, you got used to it. Hannah seemed to be having fun teasing me about the whole thing, but I didn't care. Not really. It was just annoying. Funny, though. I had the strangest feeling that she was jealous of me. The mere thought made me smirk. I was probably wrong about it, of course, but it would have been a funny twist on things, yes? (((Yes.))) Hannah finally left me alone about it, but I couldn't get it out of my head what she said about the school dance. I blushed the more I thought about it. I wonder if she'd be right, and he would take me. It'd show all the preps after him, that's for sure.
"Love, why are you grinning evily?" He asked. I hadn't realsied I was. Still, though. It would be very interestign to show all those preps and girls whom I loathed desperately that if you want to find a hott guy, you have to remember: there's beauty in simplicity. And what's simpler than a drawing? Even though he was 3D now, the simplicity was really only on the outside. Get to know him as well as I do, and you'll learn that he's a very complex, deep person. He just has his moments where it's more obvious. A lot of people would call him stupid, but he's not. They have no diea how intellegent he really is. They just assume these things because they're plans never seem to work. But the only reason they never work is because of the infamous GoodVSEvil rule. In a situation where it's good agaisnt evil- good will always win, just because people don't see eye to eye with the evil people usually. But usually, if they do, as is the case with most Team Rocket fans, they understand the evil people and become a fan. Or, they could just have a natural understanding of them, like I did at the time I became a fan. (((I had just got off MAJOR punishment of being grounded for like... 3 days (which is a long time to a 7 year old), so I sympathised with James on that one, having felt betrayed and punished unfairly. Of course, I do realsie that 3 days is NOTHING compared to what he had to go through for 5 years, at the time, all I really got out of it was unfair punishment for doing something wrong. I thought it was stupid that I get 3 days for putting in too much washing detergeant. Hey, I didn't HAVE to help with the laundry, but I did, out of niceness. Sadly, I wasn't tall enough, and when the box fell over, I couldn't reach it.))) The rest of the week was boring as anything, as always. Every week I seemed surprised at how boring it is, somehow. Pretty soon, it was September. I was excited, because my birthday was in September. I would be 16 this year, and I was excited. Especially since Moni said she was making me a "special present". She didn't say exactly, but she said it had something to do with James, so I was excited already. She went to check out a book, and the librarian recognised me and reminded me that the book I had checked out was over due. At first I didn't know what she meant, but then I remembered the book I had checked out a while ago because James was so interested in it. Luckilly, I had it in my bag, and it was only 50 cents for everyday it was late. I gave it back and we went to aimlessly wander the shelves. However, on this particular day, I had woken up feeling different, but I thought nothing of it. Little did I know that that was something of a mistake. The black was closing in from the sides, and the last thing I remembered was Moni saying something, but I don't remember what. After that, I didn't remember anything. When I finally came-to again, I was at home, on the couch. Fluffy was walking on me, sniffing my nose. Her whiskers tickled and I sneezed. I heard something fall in another room and it looked like James and my mom were racing to see who could get to me faster. I smiled. It was funny.
"What happened?" I asked weakly.
"Are you okay, love?" James asked. My mom glared at him.
"Did you just call her love?" She demanded.
"It's a British thing, calm down." James said. My eyes widened. Knowing how much she hated him, did he just say what I think he said? Did he just dare to talk back to her? She wasn't really a mean person, but she had something of an impassioned hatred for James, and had ever since the first episode in the SS. Anne trilogy (I'm including the Giant Poke'mon epsiode in that trilogy).I sat up, making Fluffy move.
"Did you eat anything?" My mom asked. I shook my head and asked what happened again. She went to the kitchen.
"Are you alright, love?" James asked again.
"Yeah, I think so. Um... what happened?" I asked (again).
"Well, everything was fine, but then you turned pale and passed out." He said. Then my mom came back from the kitchen and pushed James out of the way, shoving a wheat thin in my mouth.
"Eat something. Your hypoglycemia acted up. Why didn't you eat something?" She wanted to know (((I got tired of saying 'ask' and 'asked', sorry... ^^,since no one would answer me)))
"Um... hypoglycemia?" Apparently, they didn't have low blood sugar in the 2nd demension.
"Sometimes I pass out if I don't eat." I explained. "It isn't exactly diabetes, but it's low blood sugar like that."
"Why didn't you eat something?" My mom asked (((tch... there's that word again...))) again.
"They don't allow food in the library..."I explained. My mom didn't seem to like that excuse.
"You went during lunch, correct?"
"Yeah..."
"Well, why didn't you eat first?"
"I don't want to stand in the long lines. Besides that, the food's never that marvously wonderful anyway." I explained. It was all true, but somehow, I think she thought it was somehow James' fault, as she probably thought every other mishap was that had been for the past 2 months or so. After a while, though, she seemed to let it go, to my amazement. For the rest of the day, I was kept under extremely watchful eyes, in case something else should happen. I was spoiled, too. If I wanted anything at all, I had it brought to me, and I hardly had to get up, except on the very rare occasion that everyone be outside at once, but that only happened once. (Tuffy had Meowth stuck up in a tree, scared out of his wits by the power behind Tuffy's pudgy, lazy free-loader paws.) But even then, all I needed was my coke off the table, so I didn't mind getting it myself. I was feeling perfectly fine after I woke up. Physically, that is. I was just waiting for some kind of war to break out between my mom and James. I knew it was going to happen sooner or later. It was bound to. My mom hated him for some reason, and he was determined to help take care of me. It was sweet, really. He was so determined...However, I was a little concerned...
"Don't worry about me. I'm fine now. Besides, you're going to starve if you keep feeding me, not yourself." I said, eating a handful of Sour Skittles, but not the purple ones, I hate grape candy...
"I'm used to going a while without food. I'll be fine. Besides, I don't have a low blood sugar like you do, so you need the food." A few hours later, he tried to make me a sandwich, but Cleo made that difficult.
"Why won't she leave me alone?" He asked pitifully, trying to gently nudge her off the kitchen counter. I laughed.
"She knows, James. When she hears the crinkly wrapper on the crustless bread, she knows the next thing is the meat. Speaking of which, what kind am I getting?" I asked. Just then, Cleo hopped off the counter with a thin slice of meat in her mouth.
"Not honey ham, she just ran off with the last few slices..."
"Awww! Cleo!" I called after the gray blur. (She obviously didn't want anyone to know what she had done) Unfortunately, that was the only sandwich meat I really liked, so I got a grilled cheese instead. It was just as good, though.
"Look... I really do appriciate all the attention I'm getting here, but seriously. Enough feeding me. Now it's your turn." I said, hoping it would work. Wanting to make me happy, he went to the pantry and got a Kit-Kat.
The next day, I was feeling much better. So we all had to go to school, much to my dismay. As usual, it was boring as anything. The cheerleaders were being especially flirty due to the upcoming school dance. The few that crossed my path would follow us around, not even bothering to be subtle. The only major setback was that the prepyiest cheerleader I knew (Yes, I know one of them. No offense to any cheerleaders that may be reading this, and if you happen to know Pam, I'm sorry, but I find this to all be true.) had the same lunch as we did. Pamela Needham used to be my best friend in Elementary school, but something happened, and she came back thinking she was better than everyone else when we started middle school. Sadly, like a disease, it only got worse as time progressed. Now, I happened to know that she stopped being a Poke'mon fan in 6th grade, but now, she seemed oddly attracted to James, even though she knew perfectly well who he was and where he was from. She followed us around the bookshelves, and they were getting rather crowded, what with the 3 of us, Moni, Pamela, Cripple, and Nya-nyow flip-off kid. Nya-nyow flip off kid got his nickname because before Liv moved to Alabama, we would sneak onto Avidgamers and to her Poke'mon RP. He said something less than nice, and my only character on the site at the time was Meowth, (Brooklyn on the site) so I did what was appropriate to my character. Said "Nya-nyew!" and flipped him off. Cripple got his nickname for being in a wheelchair for a broken leg for at least a month and a half now. Anyway, so the back of the library was getting really crowded. Now, if Pamela had asked nicely about the dance, I wouldn't have had such a problem with it. But am I crazy to think 'what are you doing with HER?' is less than nice? Is that just a me thing, or have I lost it? Okay, first off- I would have thought it was rather OBVIOUS that he was with me, and secondly-if she was the last girl in the school, I would still find it best that he either not go at all, or find a guy. If anyone reading this knows Pam- I'm terribly sorry, but after knowing someone for years and years only to see them after summer vacation and they be a completely different, snotty, preppy person, you'd understand. (((She's a cheerleader now. I do realsie that not all cheerleaders are like that, but most of them at CHS are, so... No offense...))) So first, she acts like she doesn't know me anymore, then she thinks she's better than me, and now, she's after my man. Uh-uh.
"Oh, hi Pam. Been a while, hasn't it? Something I can help you with?" I asked, trying to sound as preppy and I-really-don't-have-time-for-people-like-you as I could, just so she could see what it was like. She looked at me like she hadn't seen me there.
"Oh... it's you... Well, not that I need your permission or anything, but I was about to see if... what's you name, hottie?" She asked. I didn't give her the pleasure of hearing it from him, though. Oh, no.
"James is with me, Pam. Now... do you need something or not?" I said, smiling. (((Just typing about telling her off makes me smile...))) She didn't like that. If looks could kill... Then, she realsied soemthing. I could see it in her dark eyes that she remembered why he seemed so familiar. She let her guard down for a second, while I enjoyed every moment of her dismay. However, she quickly came up with something.
"Well, Ashley..." She said, putting an emphasis on the first part of my name, knowing how dearly I hated Ash. "I must say, you could honestly do better. I mean, isn't he... gay?" Oh no, she did NOT... I slammed the book I was looking at closed, trying to supress my anger.
"You know what, Pam? I know why you say those kinds of things..." I said, trying to stay calm.
"Because it's true?" She asked cruelly.
"Because you can't think of anything better to say. And no, Pamela, he isn't gay. And even if he was, let's not forget, you were obviously interested in him, or else you wouldn't have come near me." I said. She stared for a second before continuing the argument.
"Oh, silly Ashley... you should know by now, the cheerleaders always get the guys we want... No matter what..." I wanted to say that the reason behind that had to do with the cheerleading uniforms, but I held back. "Even the gay ones..." She added. That was it. The whole time, I had been quietly popping my knuckles, but I never thought I would really have to do anything. I was tempted to, but I held back... With some difficulty. I couldn't think of anything else to say, even though I was dying to. I was waiting for Moni to say something, but she never did, for whatever reason. Guess it was up to me... Again.
"But you know what? That's okay. You can have the little gay guy." Pam said, taking advantage of my momentary silence.
"You know what, Pam? I don't know why you're even trying this... I mean, I always did understand him better than you did, even at Sixes. But then, it doesn't take an expert to see that you still don't care about him, even as a fan. You just think you're so much better than everyone else because you've acomplished the impossible- you're a cheerleader who excels academically, too! Good job, Pammy- we're so proud of you... whatever... Anyways... I know that you would have to care more about him, and that you just want him so you'll have another little trophy. I guess cheerleading and science fair just wasn't enough for you, was it? So now, you have the nerve to come over here and try and get something you don't care about? That doesn't make a lot of sense, now, does it? Besides. We both know perfectly good and well where he's from. Now, I don't know exactly how he got here, but maybe you can explain that to the rest of the school when I tell everyone where he's from if you manage to drag him away from me and get to the dance. But hey. Telling everyone how he got here shouldn't be hard for such a brilliant scientist like you." I said, waiting to hear what she would say next. She just stared. I stared abck, smiling. Then, Moni nudged me and nodded towards the doors. It was 12:05, the time we always went to get her snacks.
"Ta." I said, ecstatic to see the look on her face. The look of defeat. A look rarely seen on a cheerleader because they're so full of energy and have such short attention spans... (((the one's I've seen do, at least.))) However, when we got to the snack machines, I wish we'd never had that argument.
"Um... what does gay mean?" (((I'll give you 3 guesses on who had to ask that one.))) I forgot he didn't know. I never told him the specifics, just that a lot of people didn't like him. I didn't really know how to explain it, really. I had never had to explain it before... It annoyed me, because it was so simple, yet I couldn't say it. Thankfully, Moni explained for me.
"...But I don't..." James was still confused (((poor thing...))). Once again, Moni beat me to it, which was good.
"We know that, but a lot of people are harder to convince than others. Me and Ashley understand you, so we know better than to think such horrible things, but a lot of people only see certain things. Or choose to only see certain things."
"Like the last resort dress-up incidents." I finally said. "We know that's only done as a last resort, when you can't think of anything else. While your loyal fans argue that point with our lives, a lot of people only sit through our lecturing to say that you look like you enjoy it."
"Well of course I don't enjoy it... I only act like I enjoy it because when it comes down to the last resort, you not only have to change the way you look, but the way you act, too. I have to be convincing, or else the whole plan would have been wasted."
"Exactly. But not everybody understands that, so that's why they say those things about you; they honestly belive it's all true." I said. "But, like Moni said, your loyal fans, like us, know better. But even if we convince one person of the truth, that it IS just a last resort, we're still really sensetive to the fact that there will always be people who argue otherwise. But more and more people are realising the truth, though. If more people in America were interested in Japan, like me, then they would realise that what you're doing is actually a more up-to-date and respected art from in Japan. Sadly, not enough people in America know what kabuki theatre is, so. But once again, that's where you're loyal fans come in. We not only realise that it's a last resort, but if we just explain to people that what you're doing is a respected Japanese art form, they seem to let it go..." I explained. "Or everyone once in a while, somebody'll call something gay, but mean stupid."

The days after that were all deathly boring.

Eventually, my birthday rolled around. Moni's present for me was a piece of bright pink posterboard that was covered in printed off piccies of James. I was all spastic over it, and she said that she was going to make one for herself.
"I guess these were all drawn by my other fans?"
"Yup. And see that one in the middle with the spiffy white tux? I told Liv that I was going to make you wear that on our wedding day..." I said, making both of us blush. Moni nudged me.
"It's nice to share..." She said. I laughed.
"No way, Moni. Bippy's already predicted it. What the Mewtwo says, goes. Having said that, you'll kill me in 2 years!" I said, latching onto James' arm and nuzzling it.
"Why would she kill you in 2 years?" He asked. I blushed and continued nuzzling him.
"Stick around, watch IJOTY, and you'll see." I said. What am I saying I thought. If I get lucky, and he falls for me... I giggled at the mere thought, but knew the odds were agaisnt me. But hey. I could always dream, right? ^_~

Once again, the next few weeks were boring as ever. Everyone had gotten used to their roles in IM convo's with Liv, and it looked like Jessie actually might have been falling for Bippy. Either that or she was REALLY convincing. However, they were different now. They seemed to be zoned out a lot more often... I woke up late one night and looked over the railing to see if the cats were bothering James, but he was just staring at the ceiling, completely out of it. He didn't even seem to notice me watching him. That bothered me more than the time he was asleep and looked so worried. I stayed like that, leaning over the banister, watching him. I couldn't help but notice the unparalleled, endless beauty of his eyes, though. I tried to think about what he was thinking about, but it always came back to the eyes... so deep... beautiful... green... endless, beautiful green... Like Ireland... (((Ireland, what?))) He blinked for the first time in what felt like half an hour. He seemed to know what I was thinking.
"It's nothing, love. Don't worry." I gave a little smile, but let it go. I could tell he was only saying it to make me feel better, though. The next morning, I woke up facing the wall again. I turned over and saw a piece of paper folded up and a rose on top of it. I quickly sat up, banging my head on the ceiling again. I got my glasses out of the top drawer and looked at the folded note on the pillow beside me. Terrified of what it would say, I slowly opened it, hoping for the best.

Love,
Terribly sorry about the short notice, but we had to go home... back a demension. I wish I could have stayed longer, I really do, but... we just don't belong here... we belong back in the second demension. It was a lot of fun while it lasted, though. Maybe we can come back some time, hmm? I'd really like to...but just in case we can't... This is all I remember of the song, sorry, but here it is anyway...

"It's something unpredictable, but in the end
it's right, I hope you had the time of your life."

You can keep the rose, too. If I ever find a way to come back, I'll bring you more. And don't be sad that I'm gone... It's just for now. I'll come back somehow... In the meantime, keep watching the show, so you'll know what I'm doing every day. And don't let those cheerleaders get you down, love. I didn't like them anyway. They have too much energy... That's one of the many things I picked up while I was here. I left a few things, too, though. Have you checked the top drawer yet?

I re-checked the top drawer, and beside my where my glasses were, were two little red and white shperes. I took them out and continued the letter.

Give one to Monica ,would you? There's nothing inside, though. They're just extras I had. And tell her I said good-bye and I'm coming back, oaky? I will find a way to come back. Don't worry, Love.

Ta,
James

I read and re-read the letter a few times before it finally sunk in. He had found a way back to the second demension. But he said he would come back, right? Yes. He did. He said he would come back, if he could. My eyes watered, but I held them back. He said he would come back. And if he couldn't, I sensed something more than just "like" in that letter. Plus, I always had my pictures of him. I picked up the rose and smeleld it. Sweet, as they always smelled, but somehow sweeter than a normal rose. I smiled. But still... I already missed him...

(Meanwhile, back in Hoenn...)

"...James! Say the line, before I throw you out of this tree!"
"What? Oh... sorry..."
"You know guys... you really don't have to say your stupid motto today... we can live without it... honestly..." Ash whined.
"Look... we're gonna leave you alone for now, but we WILL be back for that rat, got that, twerp?" Jessie asked. Ash graoned, obviosuly annoyed by their decision.
"Good."
Once they got back to camp, she asked what was wrong.
"Did we really have to leave righ then, Jessie? Right then? We couldn't have waited until she woke up so I could tell her?"
"James.. don't DO this to me! I didn't want to leave either, you know! I liked it better there, too! And besides, it's like you said in your letter... if we find a way back, we'll go back, okay? Now stop being like this...it's messing with our evil reputation. Now come on. We've got a rat to steal."
THE END
