DON'T LEAVE ME

Disclaimer: Okay, you all know what we say here.

Author's Note: Sorry about the little ((bleeps)), but I just wasn't in a bad enough mood to actually swear.

"Okay, so lets run through the plan once more and-"

"We know! We know!" Kojiro and Nyase groaned.

Musashi scowled. "Then why do you keep messing up?" She snapped."Because you're both brainless lumps, that's why!"

Kojiro looked hurt."But-"

"Just shut up and put your disguise on!"

"Shut up yourself, you two faced, bitchy, whining crossbreed of a Miltank and a Snorlax!"

Musashi promptly smashed his face with her mallet. "Why you little b((bleep))!"

"Not true! And at least I have parents!"

This comment cracked something deep inside Musashi. Something painful. She struggled desperately to hold back tears.

"You...you..." She stuttered, trying furiously to come up with something really insulting.

"Cassidy-lover!" She spat finally. Kojiro only smirked.

"And that leaves you in the lurch with the human Matodogas..."

"How dare you!"

Nyase sighed. "Dis is gonna be a long day..."

"At last! A house!" Kasumi breathed.

"Civilisation!" Kenjii yelled. Even Satoshi was running for the large building.

"Hey, maybe they've got something we can eat..." Kasumi knocked politely on the door, and a pretty red-haired woman wearing a beautiful aqua Kimono opened it. She held a Nyase in her arms, which purred contentedly. Kenjii and Satoshi gaped.

"Welcome to the Roquette Inn!" The woman chirped.

"May we have a room?" Kenjii stuttered.

"We have only one room left..." The trio's faces fell, knowing it would be a dump.

"You're so lucky....you get the penthouse."

"Excuse me, sir?" Kenjii asked the bellboy. "What's that receptionist's name?"

The bellboy looked nervy. "Her name's....Meowzina!" He said after a slight hesitation.

"She sure is pretty..." The bellboy looked uncomfortable with Kenjii's comment.

"Uh...yeah. Here's your room." The bellboy said gruffly, gesturing to adoor.

"Dinner is at six."

"Wow. Meowzina sure is beautiful...I wonder if she's seeing somebody...?" Kenjii was sketching Meowzina from memory.

"Well, if she's not already with someone..." Kasumi began.

Kenjii looked hopeful.

"...then she's definitely too good for you..."

Kenjii fell over.

To Satoshi, Kasumi whispered. "I think we were better off with rock boy..."

Satoshi nodded in agreement. "Gee, I'm hungry...I wonder how long till they serve dinner..."

"Oh, Satoshi! It's only four-thirty!"

"But Kasumi, I'm hungry..." "A rocket with a side order of trouble?"

"If you're really hungry, make it double." Meowzina and the bellboy stood at the door. Both threw off their uniforms to reveal white Team Rocket ones.

"It's Team Rocket!" Kasumi paused. "And that motto sounds really sick by the way..."

All five humans and two Pokémon paused to think about that, and immediately wished they hadn't.

"Oh, eew." Satoshi commented.

"Ka~~~." Pikachu agreed.

"That's disgusting..." Musashi's face had turned an intriguing shade of red.

"You have a sick mind!" Kojiro declared, blushing furiously.

"Can we get back to da point?" Nyase asked, looking slightly green. "You give us Pikachu, we give him to the Boss and we go back to lives where we don't have daily physicals!"

Satoshi went back to battle mode. "No way! Let's battle!"

Musashi threw down a smoke bomb and the twerp trio were left choking on thick dark smoke.

. "Strike, I choose you....go!" The green raptor like Pokémon appeared.

"Use a Swords Dance attack to blow the smoke away!"

"Where's Pikachu?"

As if to answer, a string of gabbled "Pika pi"s and "Kachu"s floated from upstairs. "Pikachu!" Satoshi dashed up a ladder that was conveniently stowed in the corner of the room.

"Pokémon Battle! Aaboku, go!"

"Matodogas, go get them!"

"Strike! Another Sword's Dance!"

Kenjii's Bug type spun and created a small whirlwind-like effect. Kojiro got caught in the winds, and was thrown to the edge of the roof. He balanced for a moment, then toppled over the edge.

"Kojiro!" Musashi cried. He had managed to get a grip on a handrail, but he was slipping.

"Aaboku, Take Down!" She cried as a final battle order.

Musashi dove for Kojiro' hand just as he began to fall. "Hold on Kojiro!" She shrieked.

"Musa-chan! Help!" He scrabbled desperately to get back up, trying to prevent the inevitable 50ft drop.

"Pikachu!" Satoshi yelled.

Musashi's eyes widened.

"Show 'em your Thunder!"

The sky rumbled with Pikachu's attack, and echoed with Musashi's scream of despair as Kojiro plummeted to the ground.

Musashi stared at her hand as if it were a monster, acting of its own accord.

She couldn't believe she had dropped him. Musashi shoved past Satoshi and Kasumi, both of whom were ready to beg forgiveness before she beat them both unmercifully.

Instead she sat, crying beside her unmoving partner, shaking him, and trying to wake him.

"Oh Kojiro," she whispered tearfully. She propped him up, holding his head in her lap, and stroked his hair gently.

Kasumi, Kenjii and Satoshi suddenly appeared behind her. Kasumi put ahand on her shoulder.

"Oh Musashi, I'm so sorry..." Kasumi started crying.

Musashi remained numb.

Satoshi gave Kasumi a little half hug. "Don't cry, Kasumi, or Togepi will-"

Satoshi was interrupted by a wail from the little egg Pokémon. "So much for that..."

Kojiro was floating...just drifting through space. Everything was white, white and shining brightly. Then, out of no-where, he saw a swirl of magenta, alone in the stark surroundings. It was Musashi. A rose in the snow. Her beauty almost overwhelmed him. Then he heard her sobbing. He had never seen her cry, not real tears anyway. The way she was now made his heartache. Musashi, what's wrong? She didn't seem to hear him. Musashi, please...what's the matter?

"Oh, Kojiro please..." She whispered. Kojiro moved closer. "Kojiro, wake up, Kojiro, please don't leave me."

Kojiro was appalled. Musa-chan, I'm right here...

"Kojiro wake up, please don't die...open your eyes."

She cried out in anguish. "Open your beautiful eyes!"

Kojiro's eyes fluttered open. "Musashi?"

Her worried face peered down at him. "Get up already! My legs hurt!" She snapped, but her heart wasn't in it.

Kojiro smiled and sat up."What happened?"

"You fell off the 'hotel'." Kenjii explained.

Musashi glared at the dark-haired teenager who promptly returned into his shell.

"Anyway..." Satoshi began. "I'm sorry....can you blast off now?"

[everyone does an anime fallover]

"You inconsiderate little b((bleep)), you nearly killed Kojiro, and you think-"

Kojiro clapped a hand over his partner's mouth. "We'll go now."

The Rockets made a Beedrill line for the forest and disappeared from sight.

There was a knock on the door of Kojiro's room. "Kojiro? Can I come in?"

Kojiro sat up. He had been dozing for about an hour.

"Yeah sure." I just hope I look okay...

Musashi entered, clad in a delicate, pale-pink dressing-gown. She threaded her way through the array of food wrappers on the floor and sat on his bed.

"What's up?" Kojiro asked.

"I..." His partner stared at the floor. "I wanted to apologise for this morning...I shouldn't have called you that. Or hit you." She said as an after thought.

Kojiro shot her a rueful smile. "Yeah...sorry about what I said too...I didn't mean it."

Musashi sniffled. "And I'm sorry for scaring you today..." Musashi looked up and smiled.

"It wasn't your fault." For some inexplicable reason, Kojiro blushed. Musashi gave him a puzzled look.

"What are you...?" She inquired.

"Oh, um, nothing...I just, uh....it's very warm in here isn't it? I was going to go for a walk!" Kojiro gabbled.

Musashi stood."I'll come with you...unless you don't want me to...?"

"No! I mean, um, it's okay, you can come if you want to..." Kojiro sounded a little too eager in his own ears. He hated to think what he sounded like to Musashi. But she only smiled at him. Kojiro offered her his arm and both disappeared into the night.

"Um, Kojiro?"

"Yeah, Musa-chan?"

"I...I have something to ask you..."

Kojiro put his head on one side and waited.

"Do you think...do you think we could ever be..." No matter how she put it, it would come out wrong anyway, so what did she have to lose? "...more than friends...?"

Kojiro looked confused."What...do you mean?"

Musashi sighed. "I wanted to say...well, I want you to know..."

Kojiro looked nervous.

Musashi was never this stuttery...

"I...I love you..."

This came so suddenly after the stuttering that Kojiro couldn't help himself. He burst into hysterical laughter.

"Kojiro? Why are you...oh...I see." Kojiro could have sworn he heard a wobble in her voice. "I'm going back to the house."

"No Musa-chan, wait!" Kojiro grabbed her shoulder.

"Get your hands off me." She said coldly.

"No Musashi, you don't understand! You see, all this time you've loved me, and-"

"What's your point?" Her voice was like ice.

"And my secret is...I love you."

Musashi whirled. "Really?" All coldness was gone from her voice.

"Really."

"In that case..." Musashi moved closer. "I guess..."

Their noses were almost touching. "I've wanted to do this since the day I met you Kojiro."

Her voice as trembling. She leaned forwards and kissed him. She pulled back suddenly, shattering beautiful visions in Kojiro's head.

"I love you Kojiro-san."

"Me too, Musa-chan."

They kissed again. Suddenly...

"Where'd ya go? Nyase was---- arggggh!"

Musashi grabbed him by the throat. "Could your timing be any worse?"
