The Future

Jesse woke up to somebody yelling. She looked at her clock. 4.30 AM. She stumbled out of bed, and walked down the hall. She saw her four year old son, Kip, crying in his bed, she sighed, and knew what was wrong. he had another bad dream. She sat next to him and told him it was going to be okay, she told him this all the time. After all, he had bad dreams all the time. Soon, he fell asleep, and Jesse quietly left the room. Now that she was up, she was going to get breakfast for herself.

She sat at the table eating her breakfast and thinking. Jesse was 26 years old. TR had disbanded five years ago. Giovanni had to spend six years in jail. It was said, that Ash was staring a new Team rocket. She was not married, but was currently seeing James. Kip was Tracy's and her's son. She and Tracy had been seeing each other four years ago, now he sent her $300 a month to spend on Kip, because they were not together anymore. Sometimes, Tracy came over to vist, but rarely. Now Jesse worked as a Lapras trainer at the zoo, witch was good, because Kip could stay with her. James was a studier of Pokeballs, and also a trainer who helped new trainers pick the right pokemon. He had given her a present recently, a rare Chikarita pokemon.
She thought it was cute. She now had over twenty Pokemon, her Lv 100 Arbok and Lv 100 Likatung were a scare to every pokemon trainer. Meowth was now part of a cat food taste co. He was good at his job, needless to say. He just had to sit around and tell people if the food was good or not. Jesse put her bowl in the sink, and went to take a shower.
Jesse spent the morning reading and watching TV. at about 8.00 AM she got a call from James. "Hi Jess! Guess what."
"What?"
"I got the GS ball!!"
"Huh?"
"The GS ball!" James said sounding like anybody should know.
"The what?"
"The ball that Kurt had, he let me have it!" James
"Oh. How nice." Jesse did not really share James's intrest with Pokeballs.
"That's all I had to say, love you, bye!" James hung up.
Jesse put down the phone. she decided to go get Kip up when, the doorbell rang.
Jesse opened the door, and to her surprise, "Tracy?" She saw Tracy standing outside her door. She hugged him briefly, after all, although she was not seeing him, she still liked him as a friend.
"Hi Jesse, I was in the area, so I came to see you."
"Great, come in." Jesse said. Tracy came in the apartment. Tracy was very rich. He had made a lot of money selling him drawings.
"So, how are things?" Tracy asked.
"Really good, James got the GS ball."
"Oh my gosh! Really??" Jesse frowned. Great. So Tracy was into Pokeballs too?
"Yeah. He seemed really happy about it." Jesse said.
"Why would he not be happy?" Tracy said. "The GS ball is a legend! Everybody want to know what is inside!" Tracy said.
"Oh, I was never told about it."
Tracy looked at her like she was crazy. "Never heard about the GS ball?? Wow! you must really be living under a rock!"
Jesse gave him a look. "Sorry, just a saying." Tracy said. "So, want to go get some breakfast?"
"I already ate."
"Wow, so, lunch then?"
"Sure."
"Great! see if you can make James join us, I want to talk to him about that GS ball."
Jesse rolled her eyes. "Boys and thier balls." She muttered.

Jesse was fed up. James and Tracy had spent the whole lunch talking about the GS ball. She decided to go to the libray. She let Kip stay at home with Tracy, and went out to look up things on the GS ball. She found two books out of the whole libray about the GS ball. Soon she found out that it was very wierd. The ball was said to hold a powerful pokemon in it. Sombody had said that they had opened it, and they had said that it had a Magicarp in it, but the book said that the man was insane, and showed a picture of him being dragged off to a home for mentaly insane people.
She wondered if there really was a pokemon in the ball. So she left the libray and went to see James in his lab. He was attempting to saw open the ball.
"Hi James." Jesse said.
James screamed and dropped the ball.
"Sorry."
He said. "You scared me."
"I scared you?" Jesse asked.
"Yeah. I'v been working alone, so I don't really expect people to come check on me."
Jesse was disgusted. "Working alone? Why do you do a dumb thing like that?"
"Uhhh. I dunno."
James can be so thick headed. Jesse thought to herself.
"So, any luck with the ball?" Jesse said, trying to change the subject.
"No. I can see why other people give up on it."
"Did you press the button?" Jesse asked.
"Er, No." James said.
"Well, DUH!!!"
Jesse walked over and pressed the botton. The room started to fill with a thick white smoke. Jesse and James started to cough. Suddenly, the smoke cleared, and standing in front of them, was a green pokemon. It looked like a ghost, but at the same time, it looked solid.
"Wow, cool! I got the ball open! Hi!" James was grinning like a smile button.
"Shut up James." Jesse muttered, elbowing him.
The Pokemon was staring at them like they were mutant frogs or somthing.
"Hi! do you have a name??" James was not scared. Jesse grabbed one of her Pokeballs of her belt, she wondered if this thing was strong.
"My name, is Celebil." The Pokemon said. "I am a grass and ghost type. You are humans." The Pokemon said.
"Yeah." James said dumbly, staring at Celebil. Jesse was scared of Celebil. She hated ghost pokemon.
'"Why do you talk?" James asked.
The Pokemon stared at him.
"James, don't get him mad." Jesse whispered through clenched teeth.
"My hearing is very good, do not worry, I will not hurt you. I must leave now. I have to watch over the Illix forest. Farewell humans."
"No wait!" James said, as Celebil disappeared.
"No." James said, glumly sitting down on a chair. Jesse sighed, and sat down too.
"Don't worry, at least you got it open."
"I did not." James said.
"Yes, you did."
"No, you did."
Jesse stopped talking. This was true, after all.
"At least we saw a rare Pokemon."
"Yeah." James said.
"You better call everybody." Jesse said.
James sighed, stood up, and picked up the open GS ball. He started to close it, when suddenly, "Ack! It's turning into dust!" The ball crumbled away into dust.
"Noooooo." James said. "Now I have no proof."
"People will belive you. Just tell the truth." Jesse said.
"You don't know the Pokeball council." James muttered, Sitting in a chair and holding his head in his hands. Jesse looked down. she saw a photograh on the floor.
"James........ Look."
James looked up, it was a picture of Cerebil.
"He, He left this for us?" James stood up, and took the picture from Jesse.
"I can't believe it!" He said, kissing Jesse.
"I have to call everybody now." James said, pulling away.
"I have to go home, it's almost 11:00." Jesse said. "Good night James."

When Jesse got back home, she saw the TV was on, and her Arbok and Tracy's Azumarill, (The evolved from of Marill.) were watching the late night news. It showed a crazed young man being dragged into a car.
"I'm telling you! Team Rocket is back! Soon there will be chaos in the streets! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!"
The newsman was put back in the picture. "Who you just saw was Ash Ketchum, none other that the son of Giovanni. We have his mother with us now, hello Miss Ketchum, what do you think of your son?"
"I never ment for him to find out who his father was, I, I, I'm sorry."
"Okay, well, tell us about Giovanni, how did you get to know him?"
"I met him in a bar."
"Azu, azu Marrrrilllll" (Figures.) Azumarill said.
"Charrrrrbok." (Yeah.) Arbok said.
Jesse turned off the TV. "You two don't want to watch this junk."
Jesse took off the rest of her Pokeballs. "Come on out and strech."
"Chikirita!"
"Likatung."
"Ampharossss."
"Gengarrrr."
"Pidgeotttt!!"
Jesse went to see it Kip was asleep. She saw tracy playing Pokemon Snap with him on the N64. "Ah HEM." Jesse cleared her throat.
Tracy stood up. "Er, hi Jesse. He was about to go to sleep."
"I was NOT." Kip said.
"Go to bed Kippy." Jesse said.
"Fine Mommy, I won't go to sleep though."
"Okay, you can just lie in bed." Jesse said, then nodded to Tracy to come out of the room.
Jesse had just told Tracy all about the GS ball. He was stunned. "You got it open? There was a Pokemon inside? Tell me about it." Jesse sighed.
"I just did."
"Here, draw it." Tracy handed her a pad of paper. Jesse drew it the best she could. In the end, it looked like, "You made a picture of a green Mew? with wings?"
Jesse snached the picture away. "Thanks a lot." she said.
"Sorry." The two of them sat quietly for a while.
"I guess I better get going." Tracy said. He picked up his three Pokeballs. Over all the years, he still only had three pokemon. Azumarill, Sizcer,(Scyther had evolved) and Venomoth.
"Don't leave." Jesse said, she did not want to stay home alone tonight. After all of the things she had seen.
"Oh. Okay." Tracy sat back down.
Jesse stood up. "Want some tea?"
"Sure."
As she walked in the kitchen, she relized that she had no tea. She had never liked tea, so had never bothered to get any. "I'm out of tea, anything else you want?"
"Coffee?" Tracy asked.
"Hate the stuff." Jesse said.
"Beer?"
"Ewwww....."
"Milk?"
"None left."
"Soy milk?"
"Gross! I never buy the stuff."
"Coke?"
"I don't buy stuff with caffine."
"7up?"
"All out."
"Just bring over everything that there is to drink." Tracy said at last.
Jesse brought over, a bottle of apple juice, some orange juice, a cup of water, a bottle of half empty wine, some glopy yellow stuff, and a cup of clear green jello stuff.
"Take your pick."
Tracy picked up the cup of water. "Intresting drinks." He said.
"Thanks." Jesse said sarcastically, pouring herself some of the wine.
"I was wondering if you wanted to-" Tracy started.
Suddenly, there was a loud knock on the door.
"Just a sec." Jesse opened the door.
Dozens of news reporters were standing outside the door. Camras flashed from all directions.
"Lady! You got the GS ball open?"
"Miss, may we come in for a interview?"
"Smile!"
"Get a good picture Joe!"
"What the heck....." Jesse started to close the door, but all of the reporters shoved there way in.
"Tracy...." Jesse yelled.
"What?" Tracy came over.
"Get them out of here!"
"How?"
"I don't know!"
"You have the wrong house!" Tracy yelled.
"We do not!" The smug reporters yelled back.
"Uh, we, we, I, er," Tracy had ran out of things to say.
Jesse yelled, "Who are you looking for?"
"This person named Jesse!"
"My name is, um, Nancy Witinfinterburg."
The reporters stared. "And who is he?" They nodded at Tracy.
"I'm Mr. Winterwhatever." Tracy said.
The reporters looked like they did not believe them. "But your boyfriend says that you live here."
"Boyfriend? I'm married." Jesse lied.
"You are not! We deal with this stuff all the time!" The reporters said.
Jesse was fed up. "How dare you burst into our apartment! I don't know who this Jesse person is."
"You are lieing!" The reporters said.
"How dare you call me a liar!"
"Play the part Tracy." Jesse muttered to him.
"Oh. Yeah, how dare you call my wife a liar!" Tracy said.
"Mommy, what's going on?" Kip had woken up.
"Er, nothing, go back to sleep." Jesse said.
"Is this your son?" The reportes asked.
"Yes, I mean, no. Kippy, go to bed." Jesse said through clenched teeth.
"Kid, who is your dad and mom?" One of the repoters asked him.
"Mommy is right here." He said.
"What about your dad?"
'"Kippy, don't answer him!" Jesse said. She had never told him who his dad was.
"I don't know." He said, looking confused.
"Ha! We got you!" The reporters looked triumphant.
"Okay! I got the dumb ball open! I pushed the button! Happy???" Jesse yelled.
"NOW GET OUT OF HERE!!!!!"
"Can we have a interview now?" The annoying reporters said.
"NO!" Jesse yelled at them.
Hours later, Jesse got the reporters to leave. She looked at the clock, 4.30 AM.
"I'm sorry Tracy, you must be tierd." Jesse said, sinking into the couch.
"Not really." He said, yawning, and sitting down too.
"I am going to seriously break up with James, again." Jesse said.
"Again?"
"Yeah, I've broken up with him at least six times."
"Oh."
"I'm going to go to sleep now. You can sleep on the couch, if you want to Tracy." Jesse said, standing up.
"Sure, I'm to tierd to drive home."
"Okay, I'll get the blankets." Jesse walked down the hall. She went in the small walk in closet. She took a blanket off the shelf, when suddenly, all of the other stuff started to fall on her. "Argg! Help!"
"What?" She heard Tracy coming down the hall. He opened the closet door, and tripped over a flyswatter, and fell in the closet, knocking all the shelves off the wall.
"Owwwww" he said, as they fell on him.
"Ack! Get off me!" Jesse said. He was lieing on her, nose to nose. "I can't move, all of the stuff is pinning me down!"
"Great, this is embarrasing. My ex-boyfriend is lieing on top of me." Jesse said, trying to get out from under him.
"I'm sorry, I can't exactly move." Tracy muttered, trying to move.
"Why don't we just yell and try to get Kippy up?" Tracy asked.
"No! What do you think he'll think when he sees his mom lieing, um, under you." Jesse said, sounding embarressed.
"You know Jesse, it won't be so bad when you get to be on the news and stuff." Tracy said.
"Are you trying to change the subject? I bet that you like being stuck in a closet, on top of ME." Jesse said.
"Who, me? I don't mind. I mean....." Tracy said.
"I knew it! You still like me!" Jesse said. Wait, what did I just say? Jesse thought.
"Er, yeah." Tracy sounded embarressed.
"You better not try anything in the dark!" Jesse said.
"I'm not that kind of person Jesse." Tracy said.
The two were silent for a while.
"How long?" Jesse whispered.
"When you broke up with me. I've never had another girlfriend. I just don't want to." Tracy wispered back.
"That was four years ago." Jesse said.
"I know. I still love you." Tracy said.
"I love you too." Jesse said, kissing him. Hey, wait! I'm still going out with James, I can't like two boys at the same time! But then again, maybe, I can....... Jesse thought. Tracy kissed her back. The two of them stayed in the closet for a long time.

Jesse opened her eyes. What? was I asleep? She was still sqished under Tracy, and he was still asleep. Did I do it? Yes I did..... She closed her eyes, and wanted to sink into the floor. What if James finds out that I was in the closet with Tracy....... Suddenly she could here the sound of the clock in the living room beeping. It was, "Oh no... Tracy, wake up! It's 8:30 in the morning! Kippy is going to get up soon!"
"Uhh, what?" He muttered, still half asleep.
"Tracy, we have to get up! Now!" Jesse tried to get up, no luck.
"Tracy, try to stand up, now!"
"Okay, okay...." Tracy mannaged to push all the stuff of of him, and out of the closet. They stood up. Jesse started to pull down her and straighten her shirt, while Tracy buttoned his shirt.
They came out of the closet, Tracy stared to put all of the stuff back inside. "I'll come back later and put up the shelves and stuff." Tracy said.
"Quick, I'll get you out of here." Jesse motioned for Tracy to follow her when, "Ah! Um, Hi Kippy, I was just showing my friend, the, closet!" Jesse said.
Kip stared at her. "Yeah mommy, why was he here all night?"
"You know? I mean, he, he, he was helping me rearrange the closet"
"Yeah, I better go now Jesse." Tracy said.
"Right. Bye Tracy."
"Go get dressed." Jesse said to Kip. He walked away to his room.
"Come on." Jesse led Tracy to the front door.
"Um, Jesse?" Tracy said
"What?"
"I, I, never ment for us to do, whatever we did last night." He blushed and looked down.
"I guess we had more room than I thought we had, if you managed to get off your shirt." He mumbled.
"What?!"
"Ooops, did I say that out loud?" He looked more embarresed then ever, and picked up his coat.
"Bye, Jesse, I'll come back later and fix your closet."
"Bye Tracy. I'll see you later."
Jesse watched Tracy run down the hall. He bumped into a plant, and tipped it over. "I'm okay." He said, tipping it back up, and going down the stairs. Jesse closed the door. She picked up the newspaper. She saw a picture of herself on the first page. She looked mad. Tracy looked like he was about to fall asleep.
"Figures. The one time I get in the paper, I look really bad." She tossed the paper in the trash can.
"Mommy? Can I have breakfast?" Kip said. coming out of his room.
"After a moment Kippy, I have somthing to tell you. Sit down." He sat.
"Kippy, do you ever wonder who your dad is?" Jesse asked.
"Yes, I think about it all the time." He said.
"Oh." Jesse sat for a moment.
"Remember the babysitter you had last night?"
"The man who was here all night?"
"Yes, him."
"Yeah."
"He is your dad."
Kip said nothing.
"I know this minght come to a shock to you......"
"Why does he live somwere else? Did you spit up with him?" He asked.
"No......." Jesse shifted in her seat.
"I'll tell you when you get older, okay?"
"Why??"
"Because..... It's too.... mature." Jesse stared at the ground.
"Oh. Can I eat now?"
"Yeah, come on."

Jesse picked up a magazine. She flipped through the pages without reading. Somebody knocked on the door. She opened it. "Hi James."
"Hi Jess, I decided to come for a vist."
"Sit down." Jesse said. She sounded like a machine.
"I saw the paper." James said.
"Oh! you did?"
"Jesse...." James looked disturbed.
"Was Tracy here all night?" He asked.
"What?"
"Was he?"
"Ummm....." Jesse said nothing.
"He was!" James said.
"Okay! So he was! Why do you care? It's like we did anything!" Jesse lied.
"You did! You sound guilty!"
"OKAY! I was sleeping with Tracy!" Jesse said.
"WHAT???" James yelled.
Jesse was glad Kip was playing at a friend's house.
"YOU HEARD ME! I COULD NOT HELP IT! WE WERE STUCK IN THE CLOSET!"
"Oh, you were playing five HOURS in the closet!!" James said.
"NOT five, four and a half!" Jesse said.
"Same difference!"
"I'm breaking up with you!" Jesse yelled.
"You can't, I'm bereaking up with YOU! Humph." James walked away, he opened the door, Tracy was getting ready to knock. *Wham!* James punched him.
"Ow, what was that for?" Tracy stood up.
"For messing with MY girlfriend, 'buddy'" James snarled, and kicked him in the shins.
"Ow, what are you talking about?"
"He knows." Jesse said.
"Look, James I'm sorry, but-" Tracy started.
"Get out of my way!" James shoved Tracy away, and walked down the hall.
"Should I come back later?" Tracy asked.
"No. Come in."
"I'm sorry Jesse, I should have never said anything to you last night." Tracy said.
"Don't be."
"But now you don't have a boyfriend!"
"Yes, I do." Jesse sat next to him.
"I love you."
"I love you too Jesse."
