The Pokéball Gambit – Part IV

Slowly, a person approached the large doorway, and then took a deep breath. “This is the place.” Putting his bag on the doorstep, the person began to knock on the door. “Hello? Anybody home?”

“Hold it… I’m coming… I’m coming…” a voice shouted on the other side of the door. Slowly, they door began to open the door. “Well… well… well… look’s who’s come crawling back…” the voice sniggered.

“Look… I know it’s been 5 years, but please… will you take me back?” the first person said.

“Uh… okay, but… I have to ask… are you over it?”

“Yes.”

“Well come in, sit down, you must be soaked…”

“It's good to be back…” the person was rudely interrupted by a large car speeding past drowning out the speech. “Hey!”

“Did you catch the registration?”

“Umm… there was a letter ‘A’ in it… that’s all I could see.”

“That’s not going to help.”

“Hmm… anyway, can I come in?”

“Sure.”

== MEAN WHILE ==

“I never knew that!” exclaimed James.

“All the time…” replied the driver.

“Woah… and you think you know someone…”

“I know! And it turns out that he was addicted to those sort of things…”

“Like…”

“Uh-huh…”

“EWW! GROSS!”

“Mind you… it does explain a LOT of things…”

“So, where’s he been all this time?”

“Well, about eight years ago, when he first admitted he had a problem, he and his partner split up, she was transferred, he left, but disappeared three years later.”

“But… you have seen him since… right?”

“No… and the thing is, she’s tried to move on… but… alas, she just won’t let up.”

“Well… what happened to her?”

“She left the team a while ago and now lives in the city, but doesn’t do much now…”

“Oh… what a shame…”

“Tell you what, why don’t we drop off at her house and visit her?”

“Yeah, I’m sure she could do with the company…”

== ELSEWHERE ==

Jesse walked into the kitchen; Misty was already there, blending a protein drink for Jesse. “Mist, I wonder why Siritashi and Katarina want Giovanni…” she asked, sitting herself on a stool.

“I have no idea, but if the Rocket Rebels get anything out of him… your future is ruined…” Misty replied.

“Oh my god… yes…” shrieked Jesse, leaping up from the stool. “I’ve got to do something…”

“Look… If I think you’re going to do what I think you are going to do… then NO! It’ll be bad for the baby!”

“Oh my god, you’re right.” Jesse grumbled, slumping back onto the stool.

“But… I’ve still got my ways, and I’m still on the roster too…”

“Really? After last time… you said you’d never do it again!”

“I know… but there is no other option…”

A loud banging on the door rudely interrupted their conversation. Misty started to walk to the door, when the banging began again. “Alright… Alright… I’m coming…” she yelled to the door. Eventually she got the door open… only to be met with one the two things she feared most. “AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!” she screamed.

“Misty? MISTY?” Jesse shouted from the Kitchen. Jesse started to worry about what was going on, especially when there was the sound of a van door shutting and tyre squealing. Worried, she walked to the hall, only to find it empty.

“MISTY!” she screamed. “Alright… They’ve stooped to the lowest they can go now… Looks like I’m going back…” Jesse added, walking upstairs to Misty’s room… “Please… let it fit…”
