Note: I noticed all my fanfics had a happy ending of sorts, so I decided to flip it. If you’re a fan of happy endings, you should probably turn back…But don’t! Read it anyway! ^_^

Jessie’s Immortal

Even the Moon reminded her of the friend she’d lost, the only friend she’d ever had. His name was James…she never did tell him what she‘d felt for all those years.

I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave I wish that you would just leave
‘Cos your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

Jessie looked at the stars, they were winking at her, looking down on her. She wondered if James was looking over her too from his clouded coffin, in a happier place. His death, it was horrible. It still haunts her to this very day. She closed her eyes and remembered…

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

“Jessie!” her memories cried. “Jessie, look out!” The rest was a bit of a blur, she was pushed out of the road by her blue-haired hero, who took the blow instead. No gaudy scars, the bumper knocked him clear. It’s too painful to remember the rest…he died. That’s it. Jessie had never said a proper goodbye. Her memories became fainter as time progressed, and her need for James grew stronger, never to be satisfied.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have, all of me

Sometimes, she’d have dreams of her beloved. There was one dream, a dream she’d never forget, a dream that shall never come true: Jessie was in a barren place, no life. Nothing. Then he appeared to her, angelic and beautiful, in a booming light. Then they would embrace. They’d experience euphoria, together, they’d be ultimately happy in that dream… At last they would part, Angel James would draw his face closer to hers and they’re lips would almost touch… It ends there, Jessie would wake up, crying for that dream again.

You used to captivate me by your resonating light
Now I'm bound by the life you left behind
Your face it haunts my once pleasant dreams
Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me

And now she sits, atop this cliff. Doing only what she has done for 3 years: Think about James. Although her friends had tried to set her free of this nightmare, it had been impossible.

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

The tears that had flown from her sapphire eyes stung the skin upon which it touched. Jessie’s red hair was like the fire from her fractured soul, burning for the happiness that never came.

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I've held your hand through all of these years
But you still have all of me

‘Enough of this’ she thought to herself, ‘This is all you’ve been doing for 3 years. You’ve got to end it.’

I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me
I've been alone all along

Jessie stood up from her vantage point and walked forward towards the cliff face…

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears

She reached the edge, looking down, she saw the rocks that would create her fate…

When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears

Her feet were barely keeping balance as she teetered on the crust…

I held your hand through all of these years

“I’m coming, my love.” she called to the heavens…

But you still have…
…all of me.

…and jumped.
