Jessie ran her brush through her long, red hair as she got herself ready for the evening. She had already changed into her evening gown and applied her makeup. Now, she was fixing her hair while waiting for James, who was still in the bathroom changing into his tuxedo.
"You know, James," she said. "I'm glad that we're going out tonight!"
"Me too, Jess," said James from inside the bathroom. "It's better than staying at home and doing nothing!"
"I agree," said Jessie. "So, where should we go?"
"I was thinking that we'd go to dinner first," said James. "I've made reservations at this classy restaurant! Then, I was thinking that maybe we'd go to a movie, and then do a little dancing! How's that?"
"Sounds good," said Jessie. "But, don't you think that we're a little, I don't know, overdressed for the movies? Going to a movie in an evening gown will make people think that we're attending a gala premiere in Hollywood!"
"So? Let them think that," said James. "I have no problem with what people say! We'll just ignore them and enjoy ourselves!"
Then, he came out of the bathroom in his tuxedo. "How do I look?"
"Like James Bond," said Jessie. "But, your bowtie is a little crooked! Here, let me fix it for you!"
She got up off the bed and straightened James's bowtie. As she did so, James couldn't help but smile at her. She was so beautiful, especially at night, when she was all snazzied up.
"That's much better," she said finally. "Now you really look like a secret agent!"
James then looked at Jessie's hair, which hung down. "Do you need help with your hair? I can style it for you if you want!"
"Sure," said Jessie. "If you braid it, I can twist it up into a bun!"
"No problem," said James. "Anything for you, my precious!"
Jessie became curious when she heard that. "James, where ever did you learn that term?"
"My father calls my mother that all the time," said James, beginning to braid her hair. "I've heard it so many times, I kind of picked it up! At least that was better than the abuse they put me through!"
"Yeah," said Jessie. "I guess it was!"
Once James was done braiding her hair and had placed a tie on it to keep it from coming loose, Jessie twisted it up into a bun and James helped her with the hairpins.
"There," she said. "All done!"
"You look beautiful," said James. "Just like a princess!"
"That's right," said Jessie. "And I'm also your princess!"
After they had gotten ready, they were able to make their reservation at the restaurant, where they enjoyed a delicious romantic dinner complete with champagne and some violin music. After that, they went to see a movie, and then, they went to a hall that was holding a dance.
"This was the best idea you've ever had, James," said Jessie. "That's one of the many things that I love about you!"
"I just wanted us to have a great time," said James. "I didn't want you to be bored tonight, Jess!"
"And I didn't say that I was," said Jessie. "I never said that!"
Looking lovingly into his eyes and putting her arms around his neck, she added, "I love you, James!"
"I love you too, Jessie," said James, smiling at her. "And I'll always love you forever!"
"So will I, James," said Jessie. "So will I!"
Then, they locked their lips together in a passionate kiss. They held it for about five minutes and then continued to dance, knowing that they would always have each other until the end of time.
