A LOVE THAT WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE

The Team Rocket boss could not help but scowl at the flames in the fireplace. Did they represent the fire that had once burned within him ? The flames of passion ? All Giovanni could do was allow his memories to flood his mind.....

Years ago, Giovanni's mother known as Madame Boss ran Team Rocket. All she cared about was making a profit and showed very little to almost no love for her little boy. She could care less about her employee, Miyamoto's daughter known as Jessie. She never knew about Jessie and Giovanni's love at first sight when they were teen agers.

How could she know about the lovers in Miyamoto's bed ? She never saw their uniforms tossed on the floor as they showed their love in Miyamoto's cabin. How could she know that her employee's cabin was their sanctuary ? Did she realize Giovanni telling Miyamoto about the abuse he suffered because of Madame Boss ?

The adult Giovanni winced as he remembered his mother finding Jessie and him kissing in her office for a change. He could almost feel the multiple beatings he and Jessie received. His flashback was too horrible to continue as he recalled Madame Boss getting out the scissors from her desk and taking them to Jessie's long red hair. The last scene he chose to remember was him kissing her white bald head as she wept on his chest.

Giovanni removed a framed photo from his red coat and stared at it for it was of Jessie and himself as teen agers kissing one another. He growled as he threw it into the flames. The tears that left his eyes would not cease as he watched the photo of the love that was never meant to be disappear in the flames.
