Seeds

Part 5

"…A long time ago…in London…it was raining. Your parents… the real ones…" Seeds had a little trouble telling the story. It was sad, on top of that, she was afraid that after she told him, that James might not like her anymore for holding out on him. Despite the fear, she slowly continued on.
"They were going to buy a doll for Jasmine…she was really excited about you, and they were hoping that maybe a new doll might calm her down a little…" She went on as a tiny smile crossed her face at the memory of why they were out.
"…Where was I?" James asked quietly.
"You weren't due for another week…" Jasmine said.
"Oh…"
Seeds continued slowly. "Only…it started to thunder and lightning a little while after they left home...and..."She stopped for a second as a tear fell. She took a moment to calm herself down at least a little so James could at least understand what she was saying. "And…a tree got struck by lightning…and it fell-" She choked on a tear as she tried to continue. After she stopped coughing, though, more tears came. She reached for James' hand, but she wouldn't blame him if he resisted. He didn't, though. In fact, it seemed more or less like he took her hand. She tried to smile, but then she remembered what she was telling, and the slight smile faded dramatically. She slowly continued on. "It… it fell on the car…" Seeds didn't have to look up to tell that James' beautiful eyes were starting to water. She could tell by the sudden and subtle yet detectable difference she could hear in his breathing. Just knowing that his beautiful emerald eyes were filled with tears made her own eyes water. She hated to see him so upset, even if she had just met him a few days ago. She held tightly to his hand, but still being careful not to hurt him. She started back on the story, her voice shaking. "…Amarilla…your mother…she…was in a coma for two weeks…" Seeds was trying not to cry, for James, but her efforts were proving useless. She had hoped she would never have to tell him what happened…she loved him, and only wanted him to be happy…but he had the right to know anyway.
"But… I thought I was only a week away?" He pointed out.
"You were…"
"So… does that mean…" He started. Seeds nodded.
"While she was still in the coma. But that was the only problem. Other than that, everything was fine. Benji named you…" She said gently.
"My…father?" He asked. Seeds nodded again. "He took care of you for as long as he could by himself, but…He knew that he missed Amarilla too much to last very long…But then he remembered one of his old friends from school…Chris…In Celedon City. He took you there because he thought he would take care of you…but… if he had any idea about what they would put you through just to be able to give you the mansion… But he was only trying to help you…you were only a few days old…but… At least his timing was fairly good… after the shock of losing Amarilla finally hit him; he lost track of things… It turned cold outside… and he got sick… But knowing that you were safe was enough to get him at least 3 more weeks, but after that…" Seeds' eyes watered. She nuzzled James' arm again as he gently brought her closer to him, but she stopped him, and shook her head.
"Not me. That's one of the whole reasons I'm here, James. I'm not supposed to be here, but I am, anyway." She said, reaching for his other hand as well. "Jasmine is the only one supposed to be here…" Then, James thought of something.
"Wait a minute… didn't Jasmine…" He fought the next word for a few moments. "…Die? From the…tree?" He asked. Seeds gave a tiny smile and stepped back beside Jasmine.
"You've been secretly thinking lately. I know. You've been thinking to yourself how pretty you think I am…how you think I'm an angel…" She said, taking another step back. "You were right." She said. The wind suddenly picked up then, and once the gust had passed, you could plainly see that both Seeds and Jasmine had a pair of snow-white wings.
"An angel's wings allow it to come to Earth…" Jasmine explained. "Seeds got hers only a day or two ago, and when she heard that I was going to come and visit you, she wanted to come. She had always thought you were a very attractive boy, but I insisted she not come, though, obviously, she didn't listen… -.-0" Seeds blushed a little.
"The reason we're here, James, to is to make sure of one thing." Seeds said. James looked deep into her eyes to let her know to continue. "As much as I love you, there are certain boundaries that cannot be crossed…and… a mortal loving a true angel is one of them… I'm sorry. But we have to make sure that you fall for Jessie. You two belong together. It's a match that even angels can't mess with. Trust me. If we could, I would bend the rules and help you fall for me. But the fact is, I can't. And even though I'd never really known what love was until I came here and found you, James, I still only want to see you being happy, because it makes me happy. And, you'll be happier than ever once you realize how you really feel about Jessie. That's all I really want now… is for you to be happy." She said, gazing deeply into the depths of his emerald eyes. He gazed back. Seeds smiled, and asked, "Do something for me?" He nodded. "Look as deep as you can into her eyes and tell me what you feel." She said, nodding towards Jessie, who blushed a viciously bright pink. He did, and for the first time, the very moment his eyes met hers, he was almost blinded by the wave of love that hit him. It was strange… this had never happened to him before. In all the long, long years he had gazed into her eyes with or without her knowing it, he had never felt like that. For a moment, he completely forgot about everything else around him… it all seemed to disappear for a second, even the angel of his own sister. It felt like time stood still for who knew how long. It felt like hours, but was it really? When he finally blinked again, everything was back to normal, except…
"Seeds?…Jasmine? Where did they go?" He asked.
"Back…home… I guess…" Jessie said, looking up at the clouds that were slowly blowing by. She glanced over to see James looking up too. She took this chance to take a few steps closer to him. Now, she was right next to him, I mean, right next to him. Any closer and they would have been touching. She leaned over the tiniest bit and said his name. When he turned around to see what she wanted, he turned right into the kiss she had planned. She had tricked him, but he rather liked the trick. When they got back to the cabin, they found a note and a velvet bag nailed to the door. They had a feeling what was in the bag and they smiled when they saw it. As for the note, well, this is what it said.

Dearest brother,
Though I know it was a very…unique day for you, just now finding out about me, I must insist that you forget me as well. I know you don't want me to leave you again, but I'm afraid I must do just that. I'll come back and see you, though. I don't know when just yet, but sometime, I will come back to see how you and Jessie are doing. I trust that by time I visit again that the two of you will be married, and if so, please know how happy Seeds and I are for you. Also, regarding Seeds. The bag that came with my letter is from her. She suggests that you should look in it before Jessie does. She wants to talk to you now, here she is.
James! I'm really going to miss you. I really, really liked you, and, if not for the certain boundaries, I would be really jealous of Jessie. But for now, I'm just going to have to think about how lucky she is to at least have a chance with you. I would give anything to have at least the same odds to be with you as I would with a pop star. Even knowing how low the odds would be, I would still have a little chance… *blush* Pet Meowth and give him some seeds for me. Again, be sure you look in the bag before Jessie does. There's a surprise in it that will mean a world more coming from you. Also, know that every time the wind blows and it gently caresses your face…that's me. Every time something good happens to you, it's probably either Jas or me. Notice that as you read these very words, a breeze coming from the coast is blowing. Consider it a kiss from me. Know how much I loved you, James. And know how much Jessie loves you, too. I hope you two are happy together. If not, then I guess I followed Jasmine for nothing, because the whole reason we were there was to insure that Felix Tyler and JJ Morgan later exists…Oh, and, be warned… Felix is going to want to be called Vicious, but, why, I'll never know. He's almost as sweet as you are James he just won't want anybody to know.

Love,
Seeds and Jasmine
