The Snow
by: Kitana

It was snowing. Not just regular snow, but thick, heavy snow. It sparkled like little gems on the ground. Jessie had been walking alone on a pathway to think things out when it started to come down. She turned her head up towards the sky and caught one on her tongue. All of a sudden, a flashback took over her mind.

Images of her as a child and her mother playing with her, throwing softly made snowballs at each other, laughing. Then the flashback came out of Jessie's mind.

She continued up the path. She was glad she was alone, she needed a little time to herself. Her life was very confusing lately. James, death ,and painful memories of her mother all flooded her mind. Why was this happening to her? Why did her mom have to leave? She thought to herself. She stared hard at the snow on the ground. It was so bright it blinded her. She loved snow. But it had been snow that caused the death of her beloved mother.

She remembered the day when the message came. Her mother had to go on a mission to find Mew. But Jessie didn't really know what caused the death of her mom. All Giovanni had told her was that she had died and dissapeard. That was that. She didn't want to get involved. But another image came to her. It was one that would change her life. It was the image that showed the death of her mom. A bright light clouded her mind. She closed her eyes, and saw her mom trudging up a mountain in her Team Rocket uniform. "Come back here with that!" she screamed after Mew. But Mew just floated higher and higher up the moutain....and Jessie's mom followed behind. All of a sudden, she heard a rumble that shook the very Earth itself. A huge amount of snow came down the mountain, like a churning white river of death and destruction. "Noooooooooooooo!!!!" Jessie screamed, but she knew her mom couldn't hear her. She saw her get swallowed up by this white river of snow. Mew, still with the picture, floated off.

Jessie's eyes snapped open. She found herself lying in the snow of where ahe had been walking. She must have knocked herself out during the horrible revelation. She lay there, sobbing like a baby, bawling and sobbing. She stared up at the sky as the tears hardened into streams of ice on her face. The snowflakes drifted down on her face. Something, at that moment of extreme grief, came over Jessie, like a blessing of peace. Was it her mother telling her everything was ok? That's what Jessie had felt. At that moment, two snowflakes fell into her lap. Now you're proably thinking, "Yeah, so?". Well these snowflakes, were identical.
