The nurse came in again and told James to leave. He refused for couple of minutes, saying that he had to be with Jessie, but gave in. As he walked to the car, he started to wonder. Who had shot Jessie? Whoever it was, James would hurt them, really really bad. The next morning, James drove to the hospital.
"Is she going to be ok?" he asked the doctors who were
operating on
her.
"Well, we can't say right now, but chances are, she may live. She
just
won't be able to WALK again" the doctor said.
A state of utter shock ran
through his body. "Won't be able to WALK again?" he shouted. "You must
be
joking, right"? he said, his hands shaking.
"Sir, we can't tell you
anymore.
Please leave, for the best of everyone".
Too scared to fight, James walked into the waiting room and sat down. Thoughts were rushing through his head. He was going to get revenge. Revenge for the woman he loved so dearly. He drove to the place he had found her, lying on the ground, bleeding to death. As he stood in that spot, the feeling of the blood and the cold steel bullet came back to him. He shuttered, and continued up where he had heard the shot come from. The gun was lying there on the ground, like it had been placed there. He carefully picked it up. It was loaded. Footprints from the gun led down the hill. He followed them, for which seemed like the longest time. Then he heard talking. He peered through the grass, and standing there was Cassidy and Butch. James had had a strong feeling it was going to be them. He kept himself hidden as he listened to their conversation:
Butch: I can't
believe
we pulled it off!
Cassidy: Yeah I know, and none of those idiots will suspect a thing!
Butch: This way, we can become the Boss's favorite and get rich!
After that, they walked away and drove out of site in the sports car they had stolen. James' blood was boiling and he wanted to kill them. But that wasn't important right now. Jessie was important. He walked slowly around the spot they had been hiding in. On the ground, was a emerald-like rock. It was bright green and sparlked like the sun. He gazed at it. This would make Jessie feel better! So without even thinking that the rock could be important to find out what Butch and Cassidy had been doing, he got in the jeep and sped off to the hospital. As soon as he ran through the doors with the precious rock for Jessie, a nurse stopped him right in his tracks.
"I'm so sorry" she said very slowly. James' heart stopped. "She's......passed away while you were gone, just after you left"..........
