Fire flamed in Jessie's eyes.

"Why do we have to stay? Look at what our Boss has done! We could escape, James, I know we could!"

"Jess...I know he's not the same way he used to be, but--"

"Duh, James! He killed three people! It's not right...it's not human!"

Jessie turned her back away from James, so he wouldn't see her tears. She tried to keep from crying altogether, because she knew he could almost read her mind. But the tears came anyway.

"Don't cry, Jess. That doesn't help anything, it just makes you feel worse." James put his hand on her shoulder.

Usually, Jessie would have just slapped him and told him not to touch her. But ths time...after seeing Giovanni kill three Rocket members, and actually knowing these members...Butch, Cassidy, and Mondo...

"Shh, everything's gonna be ok. Maybe we will get out some day."

Jessie sobbed even harder, so much that at first she didn't notice James holding her, rubbing her back and rocking her gently. She also all of a sudden realized that he was singing.

Truly singing, not just the wacky way that he usually sung along with her, some weird song about Team Rocket. This time, he was really singing.

"Are you ok now, Jessie?" he asked, his big, green eyes worriedly looking at her.

Jessie could only nod. She hugged James tightly, not wanting to ever let go. He had helped her get over it, and she was grateful. She kissed him softly on the cheek and stood to leave.

"I know I'm not Justin, but did I sing the song ok?"

Jessie smiled back at James again. "Even better than he did, in my opinion. Thank you, James."
