Getting There Fishing is great no matter how you do it. If you're a shoreline or dock fisherman, or a wader, or if you like to fish from a rowboat or a canoe, that's terrific. But if you do decide to invest in a fishing boat so you can cover more water in more different lakes and rivers, make sure that decision is backed up by some research and reasoning for the kind of fishing you are going to do. The right boat and motor combination can be at least half the fun of fishing. To fish efficiently, you want total control of your boat. That means a boat that will back troll smoothly and has all the other features you might want, such as a flat and open floor, carpet, swivel seats, a good live well, decent storage areas for your gear, plus sensible places to put batteries and gas. And you want good mounting areas for trolling motors, plus a spot for a sonar unit. In other words, a boat that puts you in total control when you go fishing.
