CLIFF BRAUTIGAN - COACH

Cliff Brautigan taught at Hightstown High School for 38 years before retiring in 1994. During his career he was a teacher, administrator, Content Supervisor and coach.

Cliff came to Hightstown in 1956 to teach business and to coach the Boy's Varsity Basketball Team which he did for ten years and then again from 1975-1977 He also coached the Girls JV Basketball Team. In 1967, Cliff was very instrumental in starting the first football team at Hightstown High School. He was ably assisted by Ken Eiker and Paul Snyder. That first team went undefeated playing a JV schedule (6-0). Cliff went on to coach until 1986 including the infamous '75 team that lost the State Championship game to Red Bank Regional.

Cliff graduated from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA with a B.S. in Business. He lettered 4 years as an Offensive & Defensive tackle, Defensive End & Center for special teams. Cliff also lettered 3 years in basketball,

Cliff resides in Avon with his wife Nancy of 45 years. They have 6 children and 10 grandchildren ranging in age 25 years to 9 months.
