RAY CLARK, COACH

Ray Clark's coaching career spanned 22 years. He started with the Girls Varsity Basketball in 1973 when he first came to Hightstown. He finished his career with the 1995 Boys Varsity Basketball Team. In 1987 Ray had the biggest thrill any coach can have. He won the state Group IV Championship. This is Hightstown's only state championship as a Group IV school. Their record that year was 28-1. Ray won the conference championship three times and the Mercer County Tournament championship in 1986. In 1989 Ray coached the boys team to runner-up in the Mercer County Tournament. They were CVC co-champs in 1993-94. They were runner-up in Central Jersey Group III in 1993. He holds the record for wins with 28-1 for the girls and 21-5 with the boys. He was named Coach of the Year seven times. He was runner-up Eastern Coach of the Year in 1987.

He was recognized by the NJSIAA in 1997 for his contributions to basketball.

Ray lives in Chesterfield with his wife Robin and two children, Kevin and Megan.
