Rich was a member of the Hightstown High School golf team for all four years of his high school career. He was named MVP each of his four years. He led Hightstown to Mercer County Championships for three years.

Rich also was Mercer County Champion and Delaware Valley Conference Champion for four years. In 1967 and 1969 Rich was also District Champion. His golf career reached its apex in 1969 when he placed first in the New Jersey State Meet of Champions.

Rich currently is employed as the Controller of Pulpe Life Style Communities in Jackson, NJ. He and his wife Kathy currently reside in Jackson.
