MARGARET MC CORMICK '77

 

Margaret McCormick was both a talented track star and a field hockey player at Hightstown High School.

Girls' track was a young and fairly new sport in the mid-seventies. As a sophomore, Margaret developed a love for running which started her on her way to many track accomplishments. She demonstrated her outstanding abilities by placing First in the 880 in Mercer County, First in Central Jersey Group II in the 880, and First in the state in the NJ Group II 880 in 1976. She was also a member of the Central Jersey Group II Championship track team in 1976. As a senior, Margaret continued -her accomplishments by placing First in the All Shore Indoor Meet for the 440 and 880, and First in Mercer County in the 440 and 880 during the winter season. When the spring season arrived she continued her winning ways by placing First in the 440 in the CVC, third in the 880 in the State Final All Groups as well as other First Place accomplishments.

Margaret continued her track career at Bowdoin College where she ran indoor and outdoor track. She is now married to Andrew Solow and they have 3 children Kata, Thomas and Daniel. She works at the Woods Hole Library and also tutors students in reading. Margaret keeps in shape by running and playing on both indoor and outdoor soccer teams.
