BOB OHLE, CONTRIBUTOR

Bob Ohle has worked the chains at Hightstown High School football games for the past 33 years. He is head of the "chain gang" where it is his responsibility to coordinate members to work the chains for the games.

Bob was one of the original members of RAC the Ram's Athletic Council. The RAC formed in the early 1970's, was very beneficial to Hightstown's athletic program. Bob helped raise money for the lights we now have around the football field for night games, for the visitor's stands at the football field and for senior plates that are given to senior athletes. Bob personally negotiated with the late Max Zaitz after he purchased the old NJ State Fair Grounds, for the donation of the stands for the soccer and baseball fields.

When Bob was President of the Lions Club in 1978, he started the Scholar-Athlete Awards, which the Lions Club donated until 1998. Due to financial restrictions the Lions Club was forced to stop donating the awards. Bob now personally donates the awards. He has been present at all Hightstown High School Sports Awards nights representing himself, Allen & Stults, as well as the Lions Club.

Bob grew up in Belleville, NJ where he attended Belleville High School lettering in football his senior year. He also ran track one year. After high school Bob joined the Navy serving his country for two years. Bob attended Seton Hall for one year and graduated from Upsala College in 1950.

Bob is retired from local insurance company Allen & Stults where he worked for 38 years. He was also the tax assessor for the Borough of Hightstown. Since retiring Bob has become a member of the Hall of Fame Selection Committee.

Bob has three daughters Donna, Bobbi, and Colleen as well as three grandchildren Dana, Travis and Liam. Bob currently resides in Hightstown.
