BOBBY "COUSY" PHILLIPS '65

Bob Phillips, the first 1000 point scorer in the history of Hightstown High School, was a four-year starter for the varsity basketball team from 1961 to 1965. Scoring 19 points his first game, he went on to receive recognition, such as All Delaware Valley his sophomore, junior, and senior years. Also, he was co-captain the same three years. Bob played guard, forward, and center, wherever he was needed. By his senior year, he averaged 18 points a game and received 3rd Team All State recognition.

Cliff Brautigan, his coach, said that Bob was one of the best players he had coached in his fourteen years of coaching basketball. Bob continued his education at Wilkes College on a scholarship. Today, he lives in Terrace Park, Ohio and is president of Paper Systems of Springboro, Ohio. He has six children and five grandchildren. Bob continues to play basketball twice a week.
