MELANIE BALCOMB '80

 

Melanie Balcomb played Varsity Basketball, Tennis and Softball at Hightstown High School. As a basketball player she led her team in scoring, assists and steals and made the New Jersey All State Team in both her junior and senior years. She was All County basketball for three years. She was the first female athlete to score 1,000 points and finished her career with 1,581.

Melanie went on to play basketball at Georgia Southern University and at Trenton State College. At Trenton State College she again set records for scoring, assists and steals.

Melanie has served as an assistant basketball coach at both Providence College and Niagara University. She was Head Coach at Ashland College in Ohio and is currently the Head Basketball Coach at Xavier University in Ohio where she currently resides.
