RUSSELL BEAULIEU

 A 1947 graduate of Hightstown High School, Russ honed his center attack soccer skills during a four-year varsity career under legendary coach "Bunny" Hunt. After graduating from the University of Mississippi in 1953, Russ returned to Hightstown High School to teach English and History and to eventually assume the varsity soccer coaching responsibilities. During his nine year span as coach of the Rams, Russ' teams won an unbelievable eight state championships, and missed the ninth by a single goal

Known for his ability to motivate his players and for his sense of "team" Russ developed a number of outstanding players, many of whom went on to achieve All-County and All-State recognition. His reputation as an outstanding teacher only adds to the honors that he achieved while at Hightstown High School. Russ is remembered throughout the state as one of Hightstown High's most successful coaches.

Russ retired from the East Windsor School District in 1994. Russ has also been inducted into the Mercer County Soccer Hall of Fame and currently resides in Plainsboro with his wife Barbara and daughter Amy.
