Michael Chimes graduated from Hightstown High School in 1986. He was a member of the first swim team in the history of Hightstown High School in 1982. By the end of his senior year Michael led the team to a Colonial Valley Conference Championship. Michael set the school record in the breaststroke and medley relay and holds Mercer County records in both events. Michael still holds the school record in the 100-meter breaststroke.

After graduation, Michael received a National Merit Scholarship to Penn State. Michael graduated with a degree in biochemistry and he also played on the Water Polo team.

Michael then took a position at Bristol Meyers Squibb in skin research and is currently working for Merck and Company. He resides in Collegeville, Pennsylvania with his wife Karen.
