Kerrie received the 1983-84 Hightstown High School Athlete of the Year award. She led the field hockey team in goals for three years and assists for two years. She received First Team All County honors in both local papers and the Coaches' Association her junior and senior years. In 1983, she led the team to a Central Jersey Group IV Championship.

After high school, she spent two years at West Chester University and two years at Berkeley where she played hockey for both schools at the varsity level. While at Berkeley her team placed second in the PAC Ten Conference.

She currently resides in California and is employed by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District. She has continued to play field hockey and basketball at the club level.
