Day of North

Spring had come. Everything was rejuvinated from anything lost before. Bastet, also rejuvinated was young and beautiful again. She sat on the grass and began to primp at Her whiskers, purring with great contentment. Coming out into the clearing was another rejuvinated deity, Anubis.

Anubis didn't notice Bastet at first, and was about to walk by when he took wind of a lovely scent. He turned and found the irresistable scent was coming from the feline figure in the shady meadow. Slowly but surely, He approached her.

She was the most beautiful thing He had ever seen. She paid Him little mind and began to primp the fur on Her ears. She wore a fine green spring dress and had bathed herself in scented oils of the flowers. Anubis knew Bastet's habit, for they had grown up together, but He nevertheless bowed before Her and began, "Bastet, I've never seen you so lovely. Grant me your company."

Bastet glanced at Him with a smile and laughed. Never had She seen the noble god so humble. Nor has She ever seen Him bow to anyone other than Ra. She reached out Her hand to be kissed, and He read Her movements carefully, wanting to please Her. She then stood and smiled down at the still crouching Anubis, " Yes, I'll grant you the company you desire. Walk with me."

They walked through and around those meadows all day. By dusk, Anuis had made up His mind, and He asked Bastet to be His equal spouse. She, with a giddy giggle, agreed.

The thing about being so well-known is deciding how a wedding should go. Of course, they wanted a big wedding with great celebrations. But, even deities need time to make dreams into realities. It took many weeks to prepare for such a grand wedding.

Finally, the day came when the god and goddess were wed. Every creature gave them a blessing. There were many a feast and games about, spreading merriment as the couple celebrated their joining. Nothing was more beautiful than that day.

Anubis raised his glass, " I have found my equal other," He began, " and, there is only one thing left to do. Here's to the swift making of a family."

All parties cheered to that. And, that evening, the couple departed into their home, and began the planning of the family they could start together.
