Beer Bread

*Also known as Bachelor Bread, because they always have the ingredients on hand !

Beer Bread

Ingredients:

3 cups self-rising flour (can substitute bisquick)
2 tablespoons sugar
1 can of beer (any cheap brand)

Directions:

Mix all ingredients well and pour into a well greased loaf pan and bake at 375°F for 45 minutes until a tooth pick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool ten minutes in the pan and then remove and finish cooling on a wire rack. This is a very coarse textured bread and tastes best sliced and toasted. It tastes a little like an english muffin. Serve with butter, cream cheese or any jam, jelly or preserves.
