Directions:Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a medium sized skillet, melt the 3 tablespoons butter and then add the apples and raisins. Saute until tender and then stir in the 1/4 cup sugar and the spices and remove from heat. Pour the melted stick of butter into a 7 x 11 x 2 inch baking dish. In a large bowl, combine flour, the remaining 1 1/4 cup sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix well and then stir in the milk. Spread this batter over the melted butter in the pan and then spoon apple mixture on top of that. Bake for 50 minutes until the crust is golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream if desired. |

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°F. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar and then add eggs and vanilla, mix well. Combine 2 cups flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk, mixing well. Toss blueberries with remaining flour to coat, discarding any excess flour that doesn't stick to the berries. Fold the blueberries into the batter. Spread the batter into a greased 9 inch square baking pan. |
