Directions:
In a saucepan, combine rhubarb, water, sugar, lemon peel and salt and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered over medium heat until rhubarb is tender about 10-15 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in strawberries, lemon juice, cinnamon and food coloring. Cool and serve warm or cold over your favorite dessert. (Shown above on pound cake.) This sauce can be canned or frozen. |
