We used to be happy together

making love almost every day

You'd always tell me you loved me

And, you'd show me in every way

But, now you tie your laces

You're leaving this afternoon

I don't know if I'll see you again

But, I hope it'd be very soon

You start to head for the door

I should have been begging please

I probably should have been crying

And begging on my knees

You don't understand at all

That I wasn't that upset

But the only reason I wasn't

the fact hadn't hit me yet

The door slammed shut hard

And, I wasn't kissed goodbye

I lay down on my covered bed

And, I begin to cry

Night fell quickly, I gaze outside

My eyes stared at the stars

The fact had hit me way to hard

That forever just wasn't ours.
