There is something so cute about Cogie Domingo. Maybe it's that big smile that lights up his face. Or maybe because Cogie is shy. Really shy. Whatever it is, it is very endearing. No wonder when we started putting his pictures on this site, our statistics soared high. The truth is, a solid fan base has already been created on my inbox.

If you're still wondering what makes him so cute, read on.

HIStory
Cogie started with commercials. He did the TVC for Metrobank, Platinum Plans, Rexona and of course, 7-Up. Yes, it was his "mainit kasi" 7-Up TV ad that paved the way to a promising movie career. He just finished filming "Adok" with Christopher de Leon and Lorna Tolentino. With Joey Reyes at the helm, Cogie's portrayal of a drug addict would launch him as one o the industry's youngest dramatic actors. Actually this is not his first movie appearance because moviegoers have had a glimpse of his acting flair in "Sa Piling ng mga Aswang" (as Maricel Soriano's brother) last year. Cogie admits that working with these excellent actors and actresses compels him to work hard and really do well in his chosen field.

Does it mean that we'll be seeing him in more dramatic films? "Lahat gusto ko i-try talaga pero siyempre isa-isa muna. Right now, inuuna muna namin 'yung drama saka gusto ko rin sa ngayon 'yung drama," Cogie replies with that familiar smile.

While we're still waiting for the Philippine premiere of "Adok," this Brent boy's growing fans are having a grand time experiencing his über-cutie antics in "Gags Must be Crazy" and "H2K: Hati-Hating Kapatid," both are shown in IBC-13. And if those screaming and thumb-thumping girls inside the studio of "SOP," a Sunday noontime show on GMA-7 bother you, well, better get used to it because Cogie Domingo is there to stay. This up and coming actor performs on the said show, with equally talented GMA artists comprising the so-called, "Star Band."

Not your typical teenage guy
This is not surprising because even before the showbiz bug got hold of him, Cogie used to jam with his childhood friends. In fact, they already have a band called "Fair Ground." He used to be the band guitarist until he started hitting the drums and found it amusing. Unfortunately everybody became busy with school and other stuff before they finished their demo tape for NU 107's "In the Raw." But of course, their friendship didn't stop there.

As you continue reading this, you can now picture a 15-year old Brent boy who's into alternative rock and a firm supporter of local bands like Eraserheads, Rivermaya, Parokya ni Edgar and Razorback. No, he's not your typical teenage guy who's hooked with his playstation. If he's not taping or doing any movie, Cogie can be spotted in Glorietta, at the theater lobby looking for a good movie to watch. And when the night is inviting, he'd prefer to go to Malate, particularly in bars along Nakpil st.

Girls, girls and more girls!
Oh. This interview wouldn't be complete without us talking about girls. Pay attention now, because you'll love to hear this: "Wala kong girlfriend! Sana may dumating…" then he goes, "showbiz answer ba? Hahaha!" That hearty and real laugh made me probe some more. "Hindi, wala talaga pero marami akong crushes." He mentioned almost all the sexy actresses in town (talk about raging hormones, huh?): On top of his list is the voluptuous Joyce Jimenez. "Kasi si Joyce naman hindi lang sexy, pretty siya saka mabait. And 'yun 'yung gusto ko sa babae, simple." I thought that was it. I was wrong. The truth is, that was just the intro.

"Tapos, sana hindi 'yung, like 'yung lalabas kayo, ubod pa sa make-up. Ayoko ng mga gano'ng type. Kunyari pupunta lang sa school, naka make-up pa. Tapos 'yung sobrang tapang ng pabango!" (laughs). Now this cutie got pretty warmed up with the topic, and just has to go on…

"Basta hindi 'yung trying hard…basta someone I can get along with, di ba? Siyempre gusto ko sexy, mas gusto ko 'pag nakatali 'yung buhok, mas neat tingnan at may dimples." Now you tell me, aren't his requirements too much?

You see, our conversation wasn't just about girls (though, I can say he did enjoy that part) this young heartthob puts emphasis on the importance of education. "Gusto ko matapos ko yung studies ko, kasi alam naman natin na hindi naman pang-habangbuhay 'tong trabaho namin." He gushes with all the innocence and enthusiasm of a newcomer but at the same time he knows what reality is all about. That's what makes him cute.
