GMA Films always strikes gold on Christmas. The past two years have always been memorable to GMA Films. they have been striking gold with their bets at the Metro Manila film Festival. This year, they have struck gold with the young actor in the film Deathrow.

Cogie Domingo plays a minor who because of unavailability of documents was meted out the death penalty. Cogie relates that for a newcomer like him, it was pretty tough to get into something as challenging as an inmate. He furthers that he had to spend time being in a real jail to get the feeling of being on deathrow.

Furthermore, he gave himself time to be with the inmates themselves for him to get a broader perspective of his role. Cogie adds that he had to work doubly hard as he was starring with screen legend Eddie Garcia. He says that being with the screen icon intimidated him, but Gracia was all too helpful in giving him tips and showing him the ropes of acting.

This early, critics have praised Domingo's performance and have even said that he could be a strong contender for the award and have also fearlessly predicted that he has a bright future ahead of him in the acting industry.
