Patricia Schemel was born on April 24th 1967 which makes her a Taurus. She was the middle child of 3 children and she grew up in Marysville, Washington which isnt very far from Seattle. Her mother was a GTE worker and her father a Pacific Bell worker. She said she knew from an early age that she was "different". "When boys were chasing the girls around trying to kiss them, I was one of the girls that wanted to be with the guys chasing the girls. I knew that was different." Patty got into playing music at 11 when her father bought her a drum set. She has said that she began playing drums because "it was something women didn't do". Some bands Patty was influenced by are Echo and the Bunnymen, AC/DC, Wire.... and tons more. She was very into punk music and she started in her first band around the age of 15. With Larry, her brother she formed Sybil which was later called Kill Sybil. She was also in a band called Dollsquad, however, i dont know much information about them. Patty often felt weird because she was gay. When she told her mom, she was really supportive of her. Patty was also friends with Kurt Cobain. There is a song called "Drunk in Rio" which i guess they wrote together. Patty was also in a band called Nighty Nite which is said to have been a fake band with Kurt and Courtney. Kurt had considered her as the drummer for Nirvana but instead suggested her to his friend Courtney Love who was in need of a drummer for her band, Hole. Patty tried out for the job on her birthday! She joined Hole in 1992. Hole released their album Live Through This in 1994 shortly after the death of lead singer Courtney Love's husband, Kurt Cobain. A few months after this, Kristen Pfaff, bassist of Hole, was found death in a bathtub of an overdose. Even with all this tragedy, Hole stilled managed to go on concert that year. Patty made the cover of Drum World! She was the first female to ever appear on the cover. Patty formed a secret band with new Hole bassist, Melissa Auf der Maur called Constant Comment. They played a few "hush hush" shows. At Lollapalooza 1995, Courtney was pissing Patty off, so she pushed her drum set over on Courtney and left the stage. Another night, while Hole had a performance on Saturday Night Live, Courtney grabbed Patty and kissed her. Courtney always seemed to act like her an Patty were "involved" when people and cameras were around but then offscreen, nothing. During the recording of Celebrity Skin, thingy were getting kinda shakey. Patty's drum parts she'd written were not wanted by the producer. Patty was spending so much time doing the same songs over and over again and she was getting fed up. Not only were her drum parts not wanted, but the producer brought in a "male drummer" to do her parts. Patty left Hole shortly after the album was released. Patty did however, drum on a few songs on Celebrity skin and her picture does appear on the cover. Its been said that Patty left due to a drug problem. Courtney had said that Patty hid drugs in her bass drum or something. Patty said she left due to "musical differences". Samantha Maloney formally of Shift was brought in to replace her. Samantha has now gone on tour with Motley Crue and may decide to stay with them. Who knows if Patty will rejoin Hole. But now Patty is with Mainman formally known as Seven Sleepers and McQueen. She said she really likes this band. It's been described as a pop-punk band and Larry is in it too! She is also in Bastard with Courtney Love, Louise Post of Veruca Salt and I'm not exactly sure who else. Rock on Patty.
