Qualifying for the team:

There are two events that serve as qualifiers for the U.S. Junior National Team, where benchmark performances must be reached in selected divisions to earn an appointment to the team. Players must either win The National High School Championships or finish in the top three in The Junior Olympic Championships: (effective in 2000). The three categories that both male and female must be in the top three are the 18 and under,16 and under, or the 14 and under. Prior to 1998 the team was selected based on a tryout held at the Olympic Training Center, in Colorado Springs, CO. The team still travels to The US Olympic Training Center, but only to train, and work to improve themselves, as well as become a closer team.

Goals Of the USA Junior Team:

  1. Win the World Championships held in December.
  2. Prepare for the Adult USA Team.
  3. Promote and be an Ambassador for the sport of racquet
