OUR STORAGE & FIREWOOD SHED

I built our storage shed to resemble our home right down to the window boxes.  It's built on the same "Deck Bloks" that I used on the deck.  The walls are 2x4 construction on 16" centers.  I built 2x4 trusses for the roof and sheathed over them.  Then tar paper and shingles, just like house construction.  Ya, it's overkill for a shed, but it was my very 1st shed project and it was so much fun to build!

The fascia, soffit, shingles, even the gutters and down spouts are like the main house...

The North end of the shed is open to the air and keeps our firewood dry.  Behind the firewood is a 2x4 "screened" wall (the screen is behind the lattice) to let air through, but not insects (that was my wife's idea, and it's a good one!)  I step out of the garage's service entrance and into the wood shed during the Winter; the service entrance directly faces the shed opening.

The trellis has a new Purple Clematis climbing on it.  It should look great this time next year!
