This is by far is one of my favorite species to raise and share my home with. Many people are intimidated by the large macaws size and beaks. I find them overall to be more gentle than your classic medium sized birds. They do require a sturdy cage and tough toys... as they can play hard. Greenwings are not as nippy as some of the others (Severes, Militaries, Scarlets) not to mention other common species of parrots (Amazons & Greys). Greenwings that are raised in a home think they are just another one of the kids. One of our babies "Ruby" played on the floor, rolled on her back, and would go to everyone. She was a real charmer! Greenwings are very playful and in our opinion quieter than alot of their other large cousins. Once you live with a large macaw you won't want to settle for anything less. They are smart, fun and interactive family members.
